Installing the quickset software one windows 8 on UEFI setup causes a hard lock of the system. Ive tried several times never to any success.

So I've dove into Clover EFI full force. I absolutely love it, especially after following the forum timewalker75a mentioned. My next question is about the kext injection stuff, since Im new to all of this, wouldn't it be possible to use that to edit AppleHDA so that would be one less kext we need to mess with? Also, I've been searching, I've yet to find it, is it possible to change to time on the autoboot on clover? After using Clover for about 5 days, Im wondering why I never used it before, its amazing how much more simple things are. especially being able to use the restore partition and use the normal installesd image rather than messing around with baseimage and everything else.

Because even with the kexts deleted the nvidia card is still on causing extra heat and when on battery using extra power.

Did you update the DSDT that has the nvidia turned off as well?

Well I got OS X 10.8.2 installed and going. Only problem I have is the damn artifacts. I tried updating my FakeSMC as I read it fixes on some systems. With 10.7 it was as simple as using SMCPingDaemon or FanControl. I have the unlocked bios is there something I can adjust to make them all go away? or some other solution Im not finding anywhere.

Yeah I installed it so I could use GPT and install windows using EFI. Runs great so far!

Hey guys, Just wanted to let you know I installed the latest A19 bios, just want to let you all know they enabled UEFI, which means EFI Booting and support of GPT. Thought you would all want to know.

I think A12 was the last one to support sleep, which sucks if you have a 2670QM i7. Im hoping on of the talented gentlemen in this forum can use the guide on the l502x bios unlocking to get us a full menu of options for our l702x maybe then we can solve the sleep issue on newer versions of the bios.

Yeah it doesnt actually work for what it's coded to do, most people I've read that have used this method to get rid of the artifacts removed the prefpane and just left the daemon in place. Something it does helps with remving artifacts, I believe if I read correctly it's open source and a few people are going through the code to determine what it might be doing to help with display artifacts.

Hey guys, I've been working on trying to get rid of Artifacts with the Intel 3000 HD GPU. After trying various so-called solutions(Updating FakeSMC, removing FakeSMC plugins and so on) I finally I found a solution that I least suspected. To fix this you can do one of two things: 1. This is the solution I used, install Fan Control 1.2. Doesn't really do much as far as actually controlling our fans but it eliminates the artifacts 100% Here is a link to that: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23137/fan-control It installs a Fan Control Daemon and Fan Control PrefPane. 2. @Mahesh, I was wondering if you could do something for me, Id like to disable the nvidia card to extend battery life, I tried doing this http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2586 by adding the lines they say to add to DSDT but get compile errors, Im not very familiar with DSDT so I didnt know how to correct it, could I possibly get you to mod your DSDT to disable Optimus if you have the time to do it? Thanks in advance!!
