  1. Hi X86-1138, I hope you will be checking the updates from this forum, I am using HP tc4200 on iDeneb 1.4 10.5.6, I would also like to know how to update to 10.5.8. I am getting "still waiting for root device" using boot -f -v I have surfed thru most of the forums but there is no BIOS setting to change to AHCI. Have you gotten your tc4200 updated to 10.5.8 fine. Marcus
  2. Hi nathandw, Thanks for the great guide. I have read thru the guide and it seems more relevant to (solder) install a bluetooth module into a laptop computer ( OSX86 ), it would be great if the guide will show me how to modify the IOBluetoothFamily.kext so that I do not need to install the WMSU 1.0 on my 10.5.8 everytime I log in. Thanks, I would like to provide some updates: I have followed an instruction from another forum (sorry I did not jot down the URL) to make sure that there is no occurrence of (1)Microsoft Mouse ..., (2) Logitech Mouse .... or (3) USBOverdrive... exist in the S\L\E. I happen to discover that if my 10.5.8 start up in Safe Mode (boot -x), its bluetooth and the Magic Mouse work perfectly. I guess some kexts is conflicting with IOBluetoothFamily.kext or some other bluetooth related kext. Appreciate it if someone can help me in solving this problem. Thanks
  3. Hi Andy and Hi everyone, I have difficulty in getting Magic Mouse working in my nc6000 10.5.8 (I know it is old but it is still functioning well ). I have posted my query on another section: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=195104&st=0#entry1822120 Appreciate it if someone can help me to get my Magic Mouse working perfectly with my 10.5.8 without having me to install the Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 every time I log into my 10.5.8. Looking forward to your response. Thanks, Marcus
  4. Hi everyone, hope you all are doing well. Please do not get shock if I tell you that I am still using 10.5.8 on HP nc6000 In the process of searching for a bluetooth mouse for my iPad2, I bought a Magic Mouse and it works beautifully with my jailbroken iPad2 + BTStack Mouse. Later I learned that this Magic Mouse is compatible with 10.5.8 as long as Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 (36.2MB) is installed, and which I did (many times). However, I can only get the Magic Mouse fully working with this Leopard (10.5.8 + WMSU 1.0) after I logged in and ran the WMSU 1.0, after that I will Force Quit the WMSU 1.0 installer. As long as I do not power off the Leopard, the Magic Mouse works 100% and with tap-to-click (left and right) using MagicPrefs 1.9.2. I have performed Permission Repair and also have used Pacifist to extract the WMSU 1.0's extensions files and performed Permission Repair many times, but no luck. I also learned from many guides that I need to jot down the USB Bluetooth info in System Profiler to enter them (convert from hex to dec) as idProduct and idVendor into IOBluetoothFamily.kext -> Contents -> PlugIns -> BroadcomUSBBluetoothHCIController.kext -> Contents -> info.plist . However, doing so will cause my Leopard show "Bluetooth not available". I do not clearly understand the following: When using the working IOBluetoothFamily.kext (as attached), the System Profiler shows it as CSR (as attached), however I know that nc6000 is using Broadcom bluetooth module BCM2045NMD according to HP.com. However, the USB section shows it as ACTIONTEC, and I have converted its ids to dec; (idProduct:134, idVendor:1183) I went and modified the IOBluetoothFamily.kext from the WMSU 1.0 but it will show the same error and I cannot use any bluetooth device. I am very sure I missed some steps some where along the way, appreciate it if you can help me. Thanks so much IOBluetoothFamily.kext.fromWMSU 1.0.zip IOBluetoothFamily.kext.zip IOBluetoothHIDDriver.kext.zip
  5. Hi Everyone, I am a newbie and hope you all are doing well. I know that I may be slow in following the OSX86 trend, I really appreciate it if you can help me with my nc6000. I have installed JaS 10.5.4 on my old nc6000 following the instruction given on this website by choosing Stage XNU, AC97, Atheros, ICH PIIX. I manage to boot up using external USB mouse and USB keyboard and complete the setup. I am not able to get the mouse working, I only manage to get the keyboard working. Also, everytime I click on the Airport icon, the computer prompt me to restart. Looking forward to your response. Thanks, Marcus
