  1. JaS 10.4.7 Post Install Stuff

Thanks a lot for this thread, I had three of the problems and hope to fix them.
  2. Well, I just got it installed last night, here's the info: 1. Mac-OS-X-10.4.7-AMD.Intel-(JaS)-ISO-Repack 2. AMD Athlon 64 3400+, nForce 4 Mobo, 1GB RAM, 40GB HD with Mac OS X (IDE), 200GB HD With Windows (SATA), GeForce 6600 256MB 3. Well, it boots up nicely, no problems there, but once in, I have some problems. For one, it seems really, really slow, such as when using Spotlight and opening certain things. Also, it froze when installing the MacVidia drivers for some reaon, but I might mess around with those later. Also, built in LAN isn't working and the thrown together drivers in the Drivers forum didn't want to install (Terminal wouldn't let me put in my password). Also, whenever I try to use About This Mac, the screen goes black with one little square in the top left hand corner, and then goes back to the desktop as though it was first booting up. Really weird. If anybody can help me on any of these things it would be great. Anyway, great guide, really easy to follow and perfect instructions. Now, if I could just make it a bit faster and get my stuff working, it would be perfect .
  3. Just a quick question before installing: I just ripped out an old 40GB IDE HD from an old PC and want to install it in my current PC (an Acer T160). My current computer has a SATA HD (hence why I am using the old IDE one). Now, when I am installing the IDE, do I put it into slave mode? Also, after installing OS X on it, will the Acronis OS Selector find both drives? Finally, is there anything else I need to do other than what the guide says in order to get this working? I searched the topic, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hey everyone, I got some money for my birthday and I was thinking about putting it into a nice little OSx86 and/or Linux build-up. I was wondering if I could get some input on performance, compatibility and any other comments on the following system. Here are the components: ASUS P5GV-MX Micro ATX Intel Motherboard Intel Celeron D 336 533MHz FSB LGA 775 pqi POWER Series 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM System Memory SONY Black IDE DVD-ROM Drive Model DDU1615/B2s Western Digital Caviar SE 80GB 3.5" IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive 10-Bay ATX Case w/450-Watt Power Supply (Black) Thanks in advance for any input, as all help and comments are appreciated!
  5. Toshiba sells hackintosh!

I love how they couldn't even get a more current screenshot. What is that, like iTunes 2? And IE? Come on Bestbuy.
  6. I actually have a spare 40gig HD from a dead computer, so I might go ahead and try it that way. I just wish it was a bit more practical, as I am sure they won't like me ripping out HD's anymore than they will like me installing it on a partition . Oh well, I will do what I can. Thanks everyone.
  7. Hey everyone, I really want to install 10.4.3 on my PC, however it is a family PC and they are not too keen on it (a bit paranoid). I was going to try the Profit42 guide, but I wanted to know if there was a possibility (i.e. big one) that it could completely kill my Windoze install and my computer. Thanks in advance.
  8. I have been searching high and low for a definitive answer on both the wiki and the forums, but I can't find one. So here goes. I have an eMachines T6520. It has an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ with SSE2, a gig of ram and an ATi Radeon Xpress 200. I was wondering what dual boot guide is the best for my system. It is a family PC, so it can't destroy/ruin/kill the computer or the Windows install. I was looking at the profit42.com guide as the best, but I was wondering if I could get some feedback on it. Thanks in advance.
  9. iLife 06 leaked

I really want to mess around with GarageBand...if the performance is good, this might be the thing for me to go ahead with my OSx86 install.
  10. [Release] Intel Icons

    Those are awesome.
  11. I am going to install OSX on my PC this weekend, but before I did, I wanted to know if there was anything I need to do inside of OSX to help prevent bad things from happening. I have heard something about updating and deleting certain files, but I have no clue which ones. If anyone could tell me any of these things, if any, it would be great.
  12. Best Method?

Awesome. Looks like I will have something to do this weekend...
  13. Best Method?

Hi, I'm new here and I just had a question: I have read most of the guides on the Wiki, and I was wondering what the best method of installing OSX would be for me. I have an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ with a gig of ram. I just got this computer, so I would like to not destroy it and not have to install anything (like another hard drive). If anyone could help me out, that would be great. Thanks a lot for the help, I know all the OSX86 vets must put up with noob questions all the time, but I would love the help. Thanks!
