  1. Thank you but that didn't work... still no sound here. :/ Edit: Works now with those kexts... don't know what I did wrong but maybe some kext caches were not properly deleted (tough I used Kext Utility & Kext Helper...).
  2. Someone got sound on the abit ip35-pro with this method on 10.6.4? I had the 10.6.2 AppleHDA + LegacyHDA solution working on 10.6.3 but now on 10.6.4 nothing seems to work.
  3. Someone got sound working on 10.6.4?

    P55 SL Setup

Wait and don't buy a P55 combo at the moment... it's not working with SL and has several problems. I would wait for (at least) 10.6.2 and see if Apple adds Lynnfield support to the kernel.
  5. Read this thread... seems that it's not working very good at the moment. Vanilla install seems not possible so you can only install leopard with patched voodoo kernel. I think we have to wait until Apple releases Mac Pro's or iMac's with the new CPUs and gives us an updated kernel.
  6. Looking forward to this as I'm also planning to get a p55 board with an i5/i7.
  7. Same behaviour as I have... automatic sleep doesn't work and normal sleep only works with faking ICH10R usb but wake from sleep never works (and also never worked in leopard).
  8. Theres nothing wrong with that... did you install it via OSInstall.mpkg? Did you deselect all printer drivers etc. so that there's no error at the end of the installation? If you had an error try to reinstall the BSD.pkg (same directory as osinstall.mpkg).
  9. Yes. And it has to be there, otherwise fans still spinning. I need SleepEnabler.kext + dsdt usb fix for proper sleep but wake doesn't work. On 10.5.8 I have the same behaviour.
  10. OpenHaltRestart fixes the shutdown/restart (had this kext already) but when the computer tries to sleep, he only turns off completly with the dsdt usb fix but won't wake then... the lpc doesn't change anything.
  11. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=168014 Without my pc won't turn off (fans still spinning etc.) when I click sleep.
  12. I still have no success with sleep... I've given it up for now. I patched my USB ports in the dsdt.aml (faking ICH10R usb) and after that my machine goes off like it should with sleepenabler.kext (before fans still running) and I can wake via the keyboard but then just nothing. Automatic sleep is absolutly not working, nothing happens.
  13. Did the OpenGLExtensionsviewer test with my 9600GT in 1920x1200 4xAA / 16xAF ... Scores are better in Leopard (GL 1.1 to 2.0 ~700fps in 10.5.8, ~600fps in SL, GL 2.1 is the same) but not much so the performance is ok. The slow spaces seems to be a problem with beamsync as I have only 10fps with beamsync, in leopard it's 50-60fps... without beamsync >100.
  14. EFI String. Tried to add it to dsdt.aml but that didn't work.
  15. Yes its also quite stable here now... only the sluggish spaces is annoying. By the way the AHCIPortInjector.kext is not neccessary, it works without it.
  16. I've installed it now with booting the image and got only one kernel panic at the first boot with 64-bit (had to boot with -x32)... now 64-bit seems stable. Only the OpenGL performance is bad with my 9600GT compared to Leopard and spaces is sluggish. To get your harddrive showing up on the desktop you have to enable it in finder -> settings.
  17. Same issue here (9600GT) and spaces is absolutely not smooth in SL. Hope Apple quickly releases updates...
  18. I tried to install it by booting the image because of the error and messed up language if you install it from another OS but I always get kernel panics during the install (even with -x32). But anyway I had some other issues with the install from the OS... 64-bit is working but I have the feeling it's not completly stable (kernel panic when I checked something with quartz debug), spaces is very laggy compared to leopard and my xbench score is lower (250 in leopard, 210 in snow leopard). Do you have the same issues @ricola? My hardware is mostly the same as yours, I only have a 9600GT instead of a 9400GT. €: if you want to use the optical out, you have to use a different LegacyHDA.kext, the one ricola included in his package lists 2 line-outs and no digital out. So use the kext in the folder "3outs2ins regular headphone" from this package to have a working digital out.

Succesfull install on Abit IP35 Pro

Same here... I have no idea how to get sleep working.
  20. Replace AppleSMBIOS with this -> http://tinyurl.com/2y94gr
  21. Works here... I had kernel panic after reboot but after booting once with -r -x it works now. I don't know why -r -x helped but it did. Only sleep still not working... maybe I need some kext's.
  22. Works perfect with Samsung Q35. Sleep is also working with fixed Kalyway ACPIPlatform. Now i only need speedstep and display dimming.

    Coverflow "Problem"
