1. So, what FBs do you use in your experiments?
2. Did you try to use Eulemur instead of Hoolock and Baboon? My note is 7741G, too. I tried Eulemur and had best result with it. Now I want to continue work to make my LVDS working. Let's do it together! I forgot to say that my last try was about 6 month ago. So, I found DisplayProductID-717 I used earlier and my IODisplayEDID is AP///////wAw5MoBAAAAAAASAQOAJhV4CqjAnVhQmiYcUFQAAAABAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEB AQEBLyZAuGCEDDAwMCMAftcQAAAZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA/gAAAABMR0Rp c3BsYXkKAAAA/gBMUDE3M1dEMS1UTEExAHg= you may try to use it instead of yours. And now some questions: 1. What kernel did you use? 2. What loader did you use? 3. Did you use original driver for patching or another one?
3. Ati Radeon HD 5650 on Lion 10.7 with CI/QE

There are some problems with LVDS + 1600x900 + QE/CI.... yet. Am I rigth? Yes! Im right! What a FCKN card 5650m\6550m. During almost 365 days I tried to make LVDS work.... but NOTHING.... ZERO... oh my GOD... please make my internal display work! LET'S PRAY!
4. 5650m - DSDT edition - DUAL LINK

We have same config and same problem. For now I have to ways to use Mac OS X (Lion). First is run with GraphicsEnabler=No (with 1024x768 instead 1600x900, and without acceleration). Second is connect external VGA (fully functional - FB Eulemur (patched)). I tried everything I read, but my LVDS don't want to work with GraphicsEnbler=Yes. So, I think it's impossible.
5. Finally QE/CI on Mobility 5650!

raizign, 5650m is very hard to get to work. atlee, checcco, me and many other people have the same cards and same problems. If you want to know all news about this card, just follow this topic. Help is welcome.
6. atlee, look HERE. checcco already found all patterns. Just look for them in hex editor.
7. HD5000 Searching for Encoder and Transmitter

My connectors are: Connector at index 0 type: LVDS (7) Connector's i2cid: 96 Connector at index 1 type: HDMI-A (11) Connector's i2cid: 91 Connector at index 2 type: VGA (1) Connector's i2cid: 90 So, I changed SenseID to 07, but my LVDS still not working!
8. To my mind something wrong either with boot or with FB, because I tested all combinations with INTERNAL_UNIPHY same way as atlee. It should work, but it doesn't!
9. DSDT & internal LCD

I removed "NullCPUPowerManagement.kext", "Disabler.kext" and "ATY_Init.kext". "AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext" and "AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient.kext" in their places. Power management is my secondary problem. Primary is HD5650m + LVDS!
10. It is very helpful information. Thanks a lot! atlee, answer some questions I posted above (HERE), please.
11. DSDT & internal LCD

I'm sorry I kept you waiting. I worked on the problem with my HD5650. While solving problems with my Radeon, I had to remove some kexts (NullPower...bla-bla...kext, Disabler.kext and something else). And when I tried to boot with your DSDT last time it was successful. There is one problem with your DSDT. I don't have any sound drivers or enablers (like VoodooHDA or something else), but OSX detects my sound card as Intel instead ALC272x which is mine. Thanks a lot!!! kexts.zip
12. atlee, I see you have HD5650 too. Please answer some questions? 1. Is your internal display works properly with fullres and QE/CI? 2. What boot file do you use? 3. What kernel do you use? 4. Do you use 10.6.6 or Lion kexts? 5. What is your FB and personality? Thanks a lot. I removed "NullCPUPowerManagement.kext", "Disabler.kext" and "ATY_Init.kext". Hope it will help me... I don't have compiller to compile boot file myself. Attach your one, please.
13. Please post link to this boot file. Thank you for answering my questions. So, what kexts I shoud use 10.6.6 or Lion with my HD5650m? The answer to this question is very important to me.
14. I want to share with you my experiences. I have Acer Aspire 7741G (HD5650, 17") So, I tried to enable my internal using this topic. I used 3 kexts from Lion (ATI5000Controller, ATIFramebuffer, ATISupport) and boot file from topic above. It didn't help me with internal, but i got 1280x1024 with QE/CI on my external VGA using. Then I began modify personalities by this topic. Since I'm using Lion kexts, I edit ATI5000Controller, instead ATIFramebuffer. Location of personalities I've looked in this topic. So, my FB is Eulemur. Originally it looks like this: 0400 0000 1400 0000 0001 0000 0102 0104 0008 0000 0002 0000 0071 0000 1204 0402 1000 0000 1000 0000 0000 0000 0010 0001 My connectors are: Connector at index 0 type: LVDS (7) Connector's i2cid: 96 Connector at index 1 type: HDMI-A (11) Connector's i2cid: 91 Connector at index 2 type: VGA (1) Connector's i2cid: 90 After modifications: 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0x0x 0007 0008 0000 0002 0000 0071 0000 1204 0102 1000 0000 1000 0000 0000 0000 0010 0201 Now let me explain. 1. About 0 (which means LinkID) and TRANSMITTER byte: /* Transmitter Bits 0-3 (TransmitterID) */ #define UNIPHY 0x00 #define UNIPHY_1 0x01 #define UNIPHY_2 0x02 /* Transmitter Bits 4-7 (LinkID) */ #define DUAL_LINK 0x00 // LINK_A + LINK_B #define LINK_A 0x10 #define LINK_B 0x20 Since I have LVDS and my resolution 1600x900, link should always be 0, which means DUAL_LINK. And I have to change only the bits 0-3 (which mean TransmitterID) in range [0..2]. 2. About 0 (which means DIGITAL) and ENCODER byte: /* Encoder Bits 0-3 (DIG_ID : Digital) */ #define DIG_1 0x00 // = DIG_A #define DIG_2 0x01 // = DIG_B #define DIG_3 0x02 // = DIG_C Only for Radeon HD 5XXX Series and above #define DIG_4 0x03 // = DIG_D Only for Radeon HD 5XXX Series and above #define DIG_5 0x04 // = DIG_E Only for Radeon HD 5XXX Series and above #define DIG_6 0x05 // = DIG_F Only for Radeon HD 5XXX Series and above /* Encoder Bits 4-7 (DAC_ID : Analog) */ #define DAC 0x10 Since my LVDS - digital bits 4-7 should always be 0. And I have to change only the bits 0-3 (which mean DIG_ID) in range [0..5]. So, we have 18 combinations of LVDS connector: 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0000 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0001 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0002 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0003 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0004 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0005 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0100 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0101 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0102 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0103 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0104 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0105 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0200 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0201 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0202 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0203 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0204 0007 0200 0000 4000 0000 0901 0000 0205 0007 I tried EVERYONE, but my internal still doesn't show anytehing! And now some questions: 1. Maybe something wrong with boot file? I use attached one from this topic. 2. Maybe something wrong with ATY_Init or its version? I use attaced one (see below). 3. Maybe I should use 10.6.6 kexts, instead Lion? 4. Maybe something wrong with DIGs encoders (they were not initialized or something else)? 5. Maybe I should use DSDT? I don't have it yet (see this topic). ATY_Init.kext_1_.zip
