    What network cards work?

Hi everyone I'm having problems with my network card it simply doesn't show up in the network settings just the Firewire. my card is Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit ethernet I also have wireless on my laptop but it seems logic that it won't work. I read the PNP thing in bios but I don't have that option in my bios (acer aspire 1691) I really could use some help here Thanks in advance
