  1. Trouble with wireless adapter

I've had no success since my last post. This is the closest thing I could find matching this wireless card since it has the same vendor ID as mine. Does anyone know anything more on this problem? Should I retire this project? Thanks for the help so far.
  2. Trouble with wireless adapter

I checked up to see if there were any updates and saw your post. Thanks, but when I followed the instructions on the first page of that thread, I was unable to install the Ralink Wireless Tool for the third step. I searched around and will try some ideas on page 19 of that thread since there are so many happy posts.
  3. Trouble with wireless adapter

I've tried three drivers, one from a website for kexts and both Snow Leopard compatible ones on Ralink's website. Ever since I installed drivers from Ralink's website, my BIOS fails to detect all of my hardware after every reboot so I have to reset it each time. I'm hoping that the drivers (that I thought I uninstalled) are making the modification each time I boot into os x rather than it being permanent so I can reinstall Snow Leopard and try new kexts rather than having to deal with fixing Vista in order to flash my BIOS to a happier state. I'll post again when I reinstall Snow Leopard, good bye for now.
  4. Trouble with wireless adapter

Thank you for replying! I think you were looking at this driver which is for (according to my googling) ethernet. I found the driver that is apparently for the wireless adapter here. I also can't boot into Vista (I am dual booting) because of an error that I can't repair with my Vista recovery disk (There was no install disk included which is kind of annoying). I can still access my files through ntfs-3g so I know everything is still there. But I don't know how to identify the drivers in the file system. I also know that there are legal Vista iso downloads but before I go through the whole possess of making a disk, backing up, reinstalling, etc, I'll wait a little longer for more replies.
  5. Trouble with wireless adapter

I am still unsuccessful at getting the wireless card to work. I tried following this tutorial for Ralink and Broadcom (because I thought this adapter was something related to Broadcom and I don't trust the system profiler's information from my previous post) but with no success. It is very hard for me to find any extra information on this wireless card. Please give me a suggestion on what I should for fixing this problem or any other advice.
  6. Hello there people of the world. First off, my computer is a HP Pavilion Slimline s3400f. When trying to make a new network service, the adapter does not show up on the list. Model's specs on HP's website Here are the details of the wireless adapter (also on the website): 802.11 b/g wireless USB adapter card Interface type: USB Data transfer speeds: up to 54 Mbps Transmission standards: 802.11 b/g Supported antenna connections: 1 Operating band: 2.4 GHz and 2.5 GHz dual band Supported security protocols: WPA WEP On system profiler, it tells me: Product ID: 0x0004 Vendor ID: 0x15a9 Speed:Up to 12 Mb/sec Manufacturer: Ralink (I tried the mac drivers from their website but they didn't work. This might also be what the System Profiler thinks it is rather than its true manufacturer.) Location ID: 0x02900000 Current Available (mA): 500 Current Required (mA): 300 I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.6 with a legacy kernel. The EULA does not apply here. If you need any more information, please let me know.
