  1. Vaio P Snow Leopard

Hi All, I just nowadays bought my P29VN, and after 2 Weeks I have SL 10.6.7 and Win7 (Win8.1 works also) dual boot. Dont try 10.6.8 update, it is lazy, inresponsive, instable. I did my Vaio after this : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/168426-snow-leopard-on-vaio-pvgn-p90hs-working/page-26 Unfortunately video playback really bad, but for everydays work not bad. You cannot do this thing without Terminal knowledge, but this is not so difficult. There is a good thing, named Houdini.app, it is super to change hidden files like mach_kernel. Good luck !
  2. Snow Leopard on VAIO P(VGN-P90HS) working!

Hi All, maybe sy is still here ? I got this "illness" with Vaio P just now, I did 10.6.7 and 10.6.8, but all of them are lazy, unstable. Could anybody tell me, which Snow leopard update would be good? Maybe without tricks installable ? 10.6.3-6 ? Thanks all of you guys to work so much for this Project.

Yes, you are right, it was an off. Never mind, keep both of them, I was just a little bit dissappointed.
  4. Asus 1201N Installation and support

First of all, the 1201n is not my first hackintosh laptop, there were also dell mini 10v, 1201nl, compaq mini 1000. I did everything with 1201n, new hdd 500gb, 4gb ram, dell 1510 wifi. I was proud, and when some errors become, it was a new challenge. Then I bought from apple store a program, geekbench 2.2. I made some tests, it was always between 800-1300 And then I had possibility to buy a macbook air 2010, 1.4ghz, 2gb, 64gb Geekbench were between 2100-2600 ok, I know, ssd... but not all the tests use ssd, and these changes for the 1201n costs for me about 130-150 euro 1201n was 290 euro, it is 430-440 euro from ebay. My macbook air was 550 euro ebay, this is 25% more. Brutal fast, simple, no waiting, no strand ball, just work like a charm. Facetime, bluetooth, airport, a restart is about 14 seconds. there is no more so much difference in price...
  5. Asus 1201N Installation and support

Hi All, when I bought my 1201n, it was not a serie Netbook, the old owner did some things, My 1201n has bigger and better cooling system, other cooling grid, this part of the netbook under have more holes for air, and with some Hyper Threading or what I see on my 1201n 4x1,6Ghz CPU like Quad CPU. With Win7 there is a program which can overlock my CPU till I think 2Ghz, but I dont remember. My question is, is it possible, that my 1,6GGhz Dual core Atom works like a Quad CPU? Lets see my iStatPro Widget, there can be seen 4x1,6Ghz. Is it possible? Is there an overlocking app for Atom CPU under OSX ?
  6. Asus 1201N Installation and support

As I wrote in the past, I have also a 1201NL, and with this netbook sleep, shut down, lcd lid sleep, wake up, everything works perfectly. I did always together all the updates with my 1201n, but with the other one always worked. If sy want some files, anything for sleep enabling for 1201n, I can send them. 1201NL has 10.6.7 updates.

For all of you with HDD with 4k sectors and with this error: boot0 GPT boot0 test boot0 test boot0 error After chameleon install comes this error, because HDD-s with 4k sector instead of 512 cannot accept boot1h. I cannot explain it deeply, but worked for me: Boot with Installer_Lion stick with Single User mode, then Go to the folder where chameleon files are: cd /path_to_the_i386_folder Install boot0 to the MBR: fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdiskX Install boot1h to the bootsector of the Root partition: dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdiskXsY Then, copy the file ‘boot’ to it: cp boot / Check if the boot1h file is still where it should: dd if=/dev/rdiskXsY of=somefile1h bs=512 count=2 If somefile1h is empty run this again: dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdiskXsY Check again, if it's empty do it again, I had to do it a couple of times, for me 5-6 times. I dont know why but works :-)

I knew it... It is good to see, that I am not a stupid idiot, who cannot install chameleon with a wizard.... Now the question is, how much time they need for a solution, I hope not so much and I leave it inside, after all it is a new one from 06.2011

After 3 days of Chameleon Install, I dont know what to do... Bootmaker always without problems done, Lion install like a charm, but when I have to Chameleon install, everything went wrong, it doesnt matter which way or how I want to install. I cannot write the boot sector, always boot0 GPT error. Hnvijay wrote me a step by step manual install, I got no error messages during manual boot0 boot1h install, everything goes ok, but at the end: boot0 GPT boot0 test boot0 test boot0 GPT boot0 test boot0 test boot0 error and this thing started when I changed ma 250GB HD to a 500GB WD Blue Scorpion HD. I still had my Lion on my 250GB HD, and I can boot from this HD with usb, I try now a standard Bootmaker install with 2gb ram and chameleon r914 but it is like a miracle, everything goes in a best way, no errors, but restart, and there's no boot file. The new Chameleon Wizard doesnt included r1203 only bigger versions, the old one always crashed for me. I try to find the first one and download r1203, not from a selected folder install, fog me like these files somehow didnt do anything. I did the Terminal install also several times (thanks again Hnvijay for your patience), but I cannot write these boot files to the first sectors. Has anyone maybe also Chameleon problems? Or any suggestions ? I really love Lion, but it is a little bit strange to use always a usb boot stick to boot. EDIT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I can answer my questions more or less, but I dont know it is believeable or not. My errors, boot0 GPT error was not a misstake from me or some installations mistake. It is a Hardware Error, my 500GB Western Digital Blue Scorpion 2,5" 5400rpm Sata HDD. Somehow I dont know why, this HDD's boot sector cannot be written. It was an extended HDD, I put out from the house, and used it. I tried everything, and now, 3 other HDD was completely ok, no install problem, no chameleon problem, everything was immediately done, ok. I put back this HDD, chameleon install (every step was the same) boot0 error. So, I buy another Harddisk, and that one will be good for Extended Datas. First I read agout this error, more people changed his HDD, changed Brand. But now I also, hard to believe but true. Hnvijay thanks for your help.

Ok, you are right, I don't know so much about these things, but till now I was always able to install osx on different netbooks, I had also dell mini 10v, compaq-hp mini 1000, 1201nl and now 1201n. If I make a fresh install of Lion, and have to install Chameleon on it, I start to be nervous, Chameleon Wizard always crash at the first time, install start, and then unexpectedly quit, and from this moment started my torture. In Chameleon Wizard topic I have read about some versions which are crashed, but seems to be in my case all of them ? It is like my boot sector in my HD defended by sg, If I want to install there sg, doesn't work or work but without success. I did really everything like you suggested, every steps made without problems, boot0 or boot0hfs copied, but after restart boot0 GPT error. I do again a fresh install but before I try to download a 1000% good Chameleon, or I install r914 instead of r1203. BTW if I installed my usb stick with r1203 in the Bootmaker install, may I use another Chameleon version (lower) at all?
  11. Asus 1201N Installation and support

Thats what I did now, but the same result, and no error or other messages, I did everything good I think. I give a try now for boot0hfs instead of boot0. Just a question, if I see the Installer_Lion usb stick, that I did with the last Bootmaker from Crazyjuice, has to be inside somewhere these files? (boot0, boot0hfs, boot1h.... etc) Because I did my Bootmaker, I installed for the Bootmaker Chameleon 1203, I installed without problems OSX Lion, but these files are NOT on the usb stick, I copied them to the usr/standalone/i386 directory, but these files were not here or any other place on the Installer_Lion usb stick. Is it normal? a bootable stick, but these boot files are not on the stick? I did again all the steps, eeeHD was mounted,I tried boot0 and boot0hfs also. No error messages, perfect, but its like these boot files from a downloaded chameleon are useless, like empty or from copying somehow had problems.
  12. Asus 1201N Installation and support

I think the problem is somehow not here. I can copy this boot file manually also, there is an app, Houdini.app, with this one all the hidden files can be seen, can be deleted, copied. But it doesn't matter I can copy or not, somehow cannot boot. There's no error message during copy, terminal commands, but always get back boot0 error. And cannot see booting, this error message comes immediately. It is like my HD not ok... Sy wrote, for this procedure HD has to be smaller than 1TB, but my one is 500GB. Others wrote somehow Western Digital HD is not so good for boot, but I find it a little bit strange, an HD is an HD...

This is from my Terminal: Jordes-MacBook-Air:~ Jorde$ mount /dev/disk0s2 on / (hfs, local, journaled) devfs on /dev (devfs, local, nobrowse) map -hosts on /net (autofs, nosuid, automounted, nobrowse) map auto_home on /home (autofs, automounted, nobrowse) /dev/disk1s2 on /Volumes/Installer_Lion (hfs, local, nodev, nosuid, noowners) Jordes-MacBook-Air:~ Jorde$ but here I can see only /dev/disk0s2 on / (hfs, local, journaled), so the same as cp boot / Or not? My Lion HD name is eeeHD, so maybe cp boot /Volumes/eeeHD but ok, I don't know, but I did it also manual, I copied the boot file to the root directory, but I always get back this: boot0 GPT boot0 Test boot0 Test boot0 GPT boot0 Test boot0 Test boot0 error
  14. Asus 1201N Installation and support

First of all, thanks for your patience, I have already read the Chameleon Wizard topic, but now I see clearly, on my (bootable) Lion installer were no files on that directory, I collect them, and fdisk440 also, everything is ok, but on the last step when I type cp boot / I get a message read only filesystem. How must be written to skip this?
