ASUS K40AE

update: the bootloader has been fixed now, therefore the only problem is now the sound/graphics
2. update to 10.6.5 and your wifi card should work. about your graphic card, since it's an ATI you'll have some difficulties but it's not impossible check the tutos again and try, try and if you're not sure, try again sounds stupid but it happens to work after some tries

(FR,EN) Project Archos 9 Hackintosh

[HELP] Install snow leopard on Hp dv6 3107 sl

I use IATKOS S3 V2 and I'm quite happy with it. But my computer is an AMD so I had to choose some different options I would advice you to set your HDD on AHCI and start to install only what is already selected in the installer take your time and go step by step
5. well, can you give us more informations? (hardware...) this problem can come from your hard drive, you need to set it as AHCI. try it, send your hardware informations and we'll see

Hi all! Need some help.. I will even pay

Hi, I don't know what the best solution is but let me tell you how i installed it I have downloaded IATKOS (there are some other distributions, Ideneb...) from "the bay of pirates" and it was all I need to install OSX on my asus K40 then, after having installed it, i was able to figure out what was needed for my hardware (drivers, kexts...) however you can check on forums or google wether your hardware will be recognised or not the only way to do it is to go step by step, take your time and you'll enjoy

ASUS K40AE

Hi everybody I installed IATKOS S3 V2 2 weeks ago on my Asus K40AE and I'm quite happy with the result. However, I still have to fix a few problems and I need your help for that. 1st: i can't use any bootloader: chameleon tells me that my hibernate image is too old... I need to use the IATKOS CD to boot. It's not a big deal but I would enjoy to fix it 2nd: "about this mac" tells me that my processor is a 2.2 GHz intel core 2 duo, which is not what I have. since it doesn't create any trouble, I don't mind. Shall I care about it? 3rd: that's the real problem: my ATI mobility HD4200 chipstet is not reconized. I have a bad sound, i can't change the resolution and i can't watch any video. I know that there's no real solution for this chipset but I would really love to be able to watch some movies and listen my music. Surprisingly, sound is correct when i mouve my mouse and get jerky when i don't... pretty strange, isn't it? I don't really play games but I can't use a computer without any decent multimedia capability. If I can't fix it, there's no interest in using a hackintosh here are the informations about my graphic card, according to system profiler: Chipset Model: Unknown Type: GPU Bus: PCI Slot: Slot-1 VRAM (Total): 256 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x9712 Revision ID: 0x0000 ROM Revision: 113-B7710C-176 EFI Driver Version: 01.00.318 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1024 x 768 Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Display Connector: please help me to avoid downgrading my computer to windows Thanks to anybody willing to help me Athlon II M320 2.1 GHz chipset AMD M880G RAM Memory 3GB DDR2-800 SATA HDD 320 GB dedicated card ATI Radeon / Mobility Radeon HD 4200 WIFI Atheros 9285 IATKOS S3 V2 + update 10.6.6
