  1. 10.7.2 killed my hackintosh!

Are your hard discs set to AHCI in the bios? You could try replacing "AppleAHCIPort.kext" with the one from 10.7.1.
  2. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

There is no support for the GTX480/470 in 10.6.5, as there is no NVDAGF100Hal.kext included. The one you have installed before is there but is mismatched to 10.6.5 kexts. To get your card working again, you will have to reinstall older kexts. Look here: LINK This can be done from another working bootable copy of OS X.
  3. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

Your Cinebench looks virtually the same as mine:
  4. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

Blindwarrior, Here is an in.plist for 2 x GTX 470 cards. Don't forget to add your own personal PCI addresses (one for each card - replacing the dummy ones within) to it before making your GFX strings. in.plist.zip
  5. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

mmesh, Cards with 2 x DVI + 1 x HDMI still only show up 2 ports in system profiler as even though they have 3 physical connectors, they will only support 2 outputs at any one time AFAIK. The same goes for your DVI/VGA/HDMI. If I have misunderstood you please let me know. Blindwarrior, You will need dual GFX strings to get 2 x 470's going. What motherboard do you have?
  6. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

georgegeorge, You should use either "GraphicsEnabler" OR "device-properties" and following GFX string but not both together. Here is the working string for my GTX 480's: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>2560x1600x32</string> <key>Instant Menu</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=x86_64</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string>My Long Graphics String (removed as it takes loads of space)</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string></string> <key>SMboardproduct</key> <string>Mac-F221BEC8</string> </dict> </plist> There is a walkthrough here and pre worked out IN.PLIST for 1, 2 & 3 cards. (at the bottom of the list of cards) or below. Check out the walkthrough on how to use though. GTX_480_GFX_Strings.zip
  7. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

mmesh, Use this in.plist to make new strings, it contains more info than older ones. It has worked for other GTX 470 users. Don't forget to change your individual PCI address with your own one before making your strings. in.plist.zip
  8. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

This should do the trick. No comma needed between hide partitions. You should just be able to use the enclosed com.apple.boot.plist in your Extra folder. vsync will not be fixed until Apple produce an updated NVDAGF100Hal.kext. I just had a look inside the latest 10.6.5 and it's not there. I think we are looking at 10.6.6 or shipping Mac Pro's with Quadro 4000 cards. Diwad_s_inplist.zip
  9. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

Diwad, Post your in.plist and com.apple.boot.plist here. How much ram do you want to show, 1280?
  10. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

Take a look here - I have enclosed the in.plist and instructions: 480_GFX_Strings.zip

Hi there, Yes I made them myself using equipment we have at work. The side is straightforward as it is just flat sheet cut to shape and drilled. We also have a folding press to for bending metal but this is possible to do by making a jig. For cutting the fan hole I used one of these:

Rhino777, Here you go: Use these drivers: LINK Rhino77_strings.zip
  13. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

andrewq2, Here you go! Of course your motherboard might be one of those that will not support 2 cards in OS X86. If you have the facility to set your bios to boot from the second card then do it and connect your monitor to that card. Dual_GTX_470.zip
  14. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

I usually get them from Scrumpymacs, They seem to be out of Mac Pro's at the moment but have G5's here: LINK

Cheers blackosx, I'm really enjoying using this. The two 140 x 50 mm front fans really chill the CPU (40 - 42 degrees at idle and rock steady) even at 4.2 GHz. When you give it a workout as soon as you stop the temp plummets back to low 40's. Looking forward to some better drivers from Apple, I'm sure they will come soon.
