1. Asus 1201N Installation and support

I've updated to 10.8.5 but it's not booting, just with -x, if I don't use -x it hangs on org.navi.OemBIOS I removed OemSMBIOS.kext from fakeSMC.kext (from /System/Library/Extensions/ ) but it still hangs
2. Asus 1201N Installation and support

But I had chimera before, just updated it, so I don't think it's a chimera problem itself, anyways I'll try chameleon instead
3. Asus 1201N Installation and support

I was on 10.8.2 and everything was working Now i've updated to the latest chimera and it doesn't boot anymore It loads with -f and with -x Any suggestions?
4. Asus 1201N Installation and support

But did you do the whole process, deleting the network interfaces from settings, the plist, reboot and add the ethernet first?
5. Asus 1201N Installation and support

Did you try my method with the EFI Studio?
6. Asus 1201N Installation and support

I don't know what I have done, but sound is working again
7. Asus 1201N Installation and support

I answered you on the quote. I had to reinstall mountain lion yesterday and now I don't have sound using the mtek kexts on page 32, so try the ones on page 30 instead and tell me if they work.
8. Asus 1201N Installation and support

With this DSDT I get the same, a black screen after the apple screen. Tried with PCIRootUID=0 but nothing changed Any suggestion? EDIT: I think it was the problem I had from the begining, I couldn't install moutain lion until I removed 1GB of RAM and used the 2GB DSDT instead the 3GB DSDT.
9. Asus 1201N Installation and support

I got iCloud, app store and the other things working, I fixed it the same way I did with my desktop First of all download EFI Studio (from this topic for example www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/109793-efi-studio-video-audio-y-red-sin-drivers/) Open EFIStudio and select Ethernet, selected Add Device. Then click write to com.apple.boot.plist. - Then go to /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.boot.plist and selected the new key and string it added. - Then copy this string and paste into the /Extra/com.apple.boot.plist file and save. (In my case I copied it to org.chameleon.Boot.plist) Then important STEP! - Remove all network devices from System Preferences/Network. - Delete Library/Preferences/System configuration/NetworkInterfaces.plist file. * Finally, Reboot. After reboot, go to System Preferences/Network add add devices. Click (Ethernet) FIRST!! Then add the other adapters you use to connect to the internet. Now I only have a problem, I have 3GB of ram, I installed mountain lion with 2GB, now I changed the dsdt.aml with the 3GB dsdt.aml form the lion files on the first post, turned off, installed the other 1GB of ram, but now mountain lion doesn't work. Do I have to do something more than just copy the 3GB dsdt.aml? or the 3GB dsdt.aml doesn't work on mountain lion? how can edit some of the dsdt.aml files on this topic to change the 4GB or 2GB to 3GB? or do somebody have a 3GB dsdt.aml working fine with mountain lion?
10. Asus 1201N Installation and support

Ahhh, I updated to 10.8.2 and now I have a kernel panic "Unable to find driver for this platform "ACPI" ... IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1544" EDIT: Fixed with the kernel mtek posted on page 32 EDIT2: I can't download from the itunes store, is there any fix for 1.8.2? the fix I've found is for 1.8.1
11. Asus 1201N Installation and support

Ok, I'll try, thanks. Ahh, I give up, I got the installer working, but after more than an hour of installation it got stuck for more than 15 minutes in the less than a minute and I turned of, now I got the black screen again. I'm going to install Lion Thanks to everybody. EDIT: I booted for a last time and went to wash the dishes and when I came back mountain lion was on the screen!!! Now I have some problems, a kernel panic (but stars fine with -x) and USB for memories isn't working, but at least it works. I'll try to fix it tomorrow.
12. Asus 1201N Installation and support

No luck here. I'm going to put my step by step to see if somebody sees a wrong step or something. Formatted 16GB USB drive in mac ox plus journaled, and GUID table run ##### and wait. (installed on two USBs, one with the laptop option, and the other with the laptop and USB Legacy) Copy mach_kernel_atom to the USB copy a dsdt.aml with my installed memory to USB/Extra put USB in my asus 1201n turn on asus hit esc select usb type mach_kernel_atom -v and hit enter wait I tried copying your kext to /extra/extensions (mtek or nesseau) right now I have mtek kexts in /Extra/Extensions, booted with mach_kernel_atom -v and it is stuck on [ PCI configuration begin ] do I have to copy them to /Extra/Extensions or /System/Library/Extensions? none? both? do I have to hide the kexts, dsdt.aml and mach_kernel_atom files? I have never seen the GUI installer
13. Asus 1201N Installation and support

I tried too. Do I follow the steps correctly? or there is something missing? I will try again today with another USB
14. Asus 1201N Installation and support

Please, a little help here. I created a ML usb with #####, selecting the laptop option. I copied the mach_kernel atom to the root of the USB (from finder, do I have to copy it with the terminal) I updated the BIOS to the AHCI version and set this option instead IDE. I get a black screen, then the apple and then the black screen back. I'm missing some point? does it works with #####? or do I have to prepare the USB with other method? I have tried thit the PCIRootUID=0 and nothing changed
