  1. Hi everybody! I have installed Mac OSx 10.5.2 Leopard on this board and it's working fine. But, since I need Mac OS for music production 10.5.2 is not the best choice. I want Logic Pro 9 and requirements says 10.5.7 an above. I tried update and got kernel panic, also tried installing 10.5.7 and I didn't work it out. Than I was searching for appropriate 10.6 distro compatible with this MoBo and there is no this board in the list. Or I couldn't find it... http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page Than I was searching on this forum and find some promising topic, but... http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...;hl=ga-p31-ds3l it is a very nice explanation how to instal but I still don't know which of 10.6 distros to install. Also I send PMs to these guys but no reply for weeks... Thanks
  2. I have installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on my ga-p31-ds3l. I tried many different versions and failed several times... than I was suprised when this one work just fine without boot loader or something... just burn iso to disk and boot from cd... later just installed 8400gs kext from here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...D+NVinject.kext and it works perfect. Also I tried update and got kernel panic after restart but I'm satisfied how it works for now. That was my first one. Now I'm gonna try Snow Leo

  4. In first you should read this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=236949 Did you check HCL (hardware compatibility list)? http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page Go google... Why you expect anyone do it for you. I was reading for few months to learn how to install OSx on my pc. Read forums, learn how it works, you'll find some ideas what to try... and probably you're gonna fail several times. Than come here with your spec. say i tried all this and it didn't work (or it's worked), can you help me... don't be lazy
  5. RAM Slot selection?

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=200348 try this it's the same config as yours...
  6. Please Help.

Did you check OSx86 HCL? Did you tried 10.5.2 Leopard?
  7. do kexts mess with windows?

First of all read this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=236949 topic. Go google and search for OSx86 HCL (Hardware Compatibility List). Find which OSx supports your hardware (Mobo, GPU mostly). Then you should backup all your data just in case something went wrong. It doesn't matter if you are installing on separate or the same hard drive. Kexts are not gonna mess your Windows, but there is possibility that something else mess up your Win and thats why you should do backup. Installing OSx is not some easy process and you are probably gonna fail several times until everything works. Operating system can't change anything in your BIOS. That you should do... Driver is software that allow your operating system interact with your hardware. So OSx and Windows driver doesn't have anything in common, so won't mess anything... Same for kexts (OSx drivers)
  8. RAM Slot selection?

what Mobo do you have? how much ram, 3x1Gb, 3x2Gb..?
  9. RAM Slot selection?

try to install Snow Leo with just one memory stick. When you got everything to work try installing other 2. I read somewhere bout that OSx should be installed with less than 4Gb of memory. Use first 3 slots like manufacturer suggests and I think it should work.
