  1. Hi I have a problem, I tried running this script but nothing happens, I have a laptop with hd300 and ati 6470m card. Anyone know why and how to solve it?
  2. Hi guys i'm posting here as it seems these mobility cards are a bit of a nightmare and you have managed to crack it! I have a HP Probook 4530s with the 6470m 512 graphics card and hd3000. In the bios the only option is switchable graphics and that turns the radeon card on/off. It has been showing in osx until now with GE=Yes but it can't be used, no framebuffer loaded and never showed any connections. I have (with the help of a few tonymac members managed to extract my ati rom and put that in extra and if I boot with GE=Yes, UseAtiROM=Yes AtiConfig=Ipomoea then it shows up with the vga connector THOUGH it does not show anything on display. I tried Aty_init.kext but that made no difference, I am looking for the next step and have no idea where to go or what to do. I am willing to learn but I'm in no way a programmer. I will attach as much info and files as I can and maybe if it's a simple solution you could explain how? I have no idea how close I am to making this work lol I am currently on 10.7.4 but also have a 10.7.3 and 10.6.8 install on my probook 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device [1002:6760] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Unknown device [103c:167d] Archive.zip
  3. Ati 6470m

Anyone managed to get this working? I've seen this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=253557&hl=6470m&fromsearch=1 which is the same card but it just doesn't show up for me with that much information it just says something like display dev id vendor id then below it I get all the information about the hd3000 and the connections. It could be because I have a HP Probook 4530s i5 with hd3000 and Radeon 6470m. I don't even know how to get it to show up properly
  4. GMA X4500

GMAX3100: Chipset Model: GMAX3100 Type: GPU Bus: Built-In VRAM (Total): 64 MB of Shared System Memory Vendor: Intel (0x8086) Device ID: 0x2a42 Revision ID: 0x0007 Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded Displays: Display: Resolution: 1024 x 768 Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Maybe modding the X3100 is the way to go? I've tried adding my pid to the string of the 3100 kext & 3100fb kext with no luck... It was recognised by Lion as X3100 without any mods which is why I naturally tried editing that kext oh and since modding the kext it appears that I now have CI but still not QE :'( Anyone got the QE working and not the CI? maybe we can work something out?
  5. I've been looking for a decent laptop (not netbook) to buy to make a Hackintosh and i've been told that the Toshiba A660-149 worked perfectly but has been out of production for a while now. It has been replaced by the A660-1DW and from looking at the specs all that seems to have changed is the processor from i5 2.2-2.5 to 2.4 standard, graphics have changed from NVIDA gt330m to NVIDA g310 and they've added bluetooth. In theory it should be just as compatible but I don't want to spend the £560 to find out afterwards that it isn't... full specs can be foundon these links.... (a660-149) Satellite A660-149 - Product Specifications - Toshiba (a660-1dw) http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/inn...DUCT_ID=1096001 Any help would be appreciated, even a suggestion of an alternative laptop with an i5 processor, hdmi output, definitely working and still available in the uk would be a great help. Thanks
  6. iATKOS S3 V7 Install problems

Thanks for your quick response. It's a Medion mid 2020 (also known as an advent 7035) GPU= No idea to what your refering, please let me know what this is. I've googled the laptop specs and pasted the result. CPU Intel Pentium 4-M 2.8GHz BIOS Insyde BIOS. Press F2 to enter Chipset SIS 650 Memory 512MB PC2700 DDR SODIMM (2 memory slots. Max 1GB) * Hard Drive 40GB Seagate ST94011A CD Drive QSI SBW-242 CDRW/DVD Screen 15" TFT (Native Res.1024x768) Video Card SiS 650 (64MB shared) Sound Card Realtek AC'97 audio Modem HSP56 MR-8640 Network Card SiS 900 Advent 802.11g wireless LAN card PC Card 1x Type I/II Ports 1x Microphone 1x Headphone 1x Kensington Lock 1x Modem 1x PS2 1x LAN 4x USB 2.0 1x S-Video (TV-Out) 1x VGA 1x Parallel 1x PC Card Slot Touchpad Synaptics Touchpad Just to point out, most of the components must work with os x as it has run 10.5.8 in the past but with no working sound or internet.
  7. Ok so I've wanted a mac for a while and tried going down the hackintosh route before with my own laptop and after several hours of trying to search for info of how to hack my laptop, downloading several Distro's and failing miserably I discovered my laptop just wasn't hackable... So anyway my daughters laptop got a new hd and needed an OS so I decided to give it a go on there... So I tried the distro's I had already downloaded and 1 seemed to work iDENEB V1.6 10.5.8 but after the install I found that the sound didn't work and neither did the ethernet and the Belkin wireless adapters I have weren't supported either so I gave up. Recently I got back the urge to have a Macbook and decided that I would give my daughters laptop another crack at the whip and download a more up to date distro... i ATKOS S3 V7. After coming across a common issue of not being able to erase the hard drive (hung at unmounting the volume) I thought I would use my common sense, use the iDeneb disk for the disk utility and then reload up the iATKOS distro and re-do the install. When I tried to do the install I then encountered another common problem, it hung at the install as soon as the blue candy cane style coloured bar changed to blank and it had about 5mm of blue on it. It appeared to be changing colour as the candy cane style bar did so I did a quick search and discovered others had this problem of it going slow with 3cm of bar filled and 18 mins remaining and the advise was to relax it WILL GET THERE!!!! Mine however after 2 hours still had not moved and still said 1 hr 18 mins remaining. I thought maybe something had gone wrong so decided to start again from scratch but this time when I hit install it came up with the candy cane style bar and never passed that point. I don't know what is going wrong or even if what is causing it could be linked to my choices in the customise menu? Do those choices only effect it after rebooting???? Thanks for your help in advance, I am a bit of a noob to OSX but am willing and able to learn.
