1. Hackintosh FIREWIRE audio hiss/buzz noise...

Easiest fix for this problem, in case you all haven't figured it out: Buy a Mac compatible firewire card. Fixed all the noise from my firewire audio interface.
2. Hackintosh FIREWIRE audio hiss/buzz noise...

Has anyone got their onboard firewire to work with hackintosh? Anyone know of any kexts that would enable onboard firewire? Any luck with the sabertooth x58 mobo firewire? ...or do i just have to buy a Apple compatible Firewire card? =(
3. Kernal panic after installation.

It's back... =( But i think i might of narrowed it down just a little bit... I got the panic screen 3 times today and every time i got the panic i was using safari and only safari. Could this be some sort of network kext? Whenever I check my console theres no logs directly before the panic... it seems that its not saving any info leaving me clueless as to what caused the panic. Any ideas?
4. So my Hackintosh build is almost complete, just working out a few kinks. The main reason I even started my Hackintosh build was to use it as a Music Studio to run Logic and Pro tools. Here's the problem: My 2 KRK monitors are connected via my audio interface (M-Audio Profire 610) which is FIREWIRE. Anytime I play a song or video I hear a loud hissing/buzzing noise. Now when I play a song in Win7 I have no problem. So its obviously my Hackintosh. Yes, I do have the latest Drivers for my Audio Interface. I've been searching the internet for a solution and haven't found one so thats why I started this topic. So how do I get rid of this noise? Am i suppose to delete any audio kexts? My sound is normal when I plug in headphones directly into my mobo (instead of firewire). So im not sure if it's an audio kext. Are there any firewire kexts im supposed to delete or download? I read something about my firewire not getting enough power in Hackintosh, anyone care to explain this a little better? I've gotten a lot of help from this forum so I'm really hoping someone knows about this problem. =( ASUS Sabertooth X58 Thank you!
5. Kernal panic after installation.

Tried both UBCD and the single user code to check the hdd. Everything checked out. Nothing is overclocked and I do have the latest nvidia drivers. Funny thing is I havent had the panic in a few days. I even left my pc on for 2 days while running a few programs and no panic at all. I think updating my BIOS to the latest version probably cleared the panic? Or at least fixed part of it, because i still feel like my hackintosh is not rock solid yet. The only problem im having now is getting rid of the audio buzzing sound coming from my firewire port (Im using a firewire soundcard for my music studio) So im trying to look that up not sure if you know anything about getting the firewire to work flawless. I hear audio but theres this loud high pitch sound coming from the speakers. I'm going to run a couple more tests later on today, you know just to try to overload mac and take it to its limit to see if i get a panic. Thanks so much for your help zicoos! If i get a panic tonight or tomorrow ill just repost to this topic with new info. Crossing my fingers now...
6. Kernal panic after installation.

I just bought the drive from newegg, 1TB Seagate barracuda. Sorry for being a noob but how do i test out the hdd in osx? I'm also going to take out 2gb and test it for a couple days. Any idea on memory mapping for an asus mobo?
7. Kernal panic after installation.

Cooler Master HAF 942 Case ASUS Sabertooth X58 MOBO Intel i7 930 CPU ANTEC 750W Power Supply Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 6GB Patriot Memory 1TB HDD (Windows 7) 1TB HDD (Hackintosh) 250GB HDD Internal 1TB External 750GB HDD External Do you think I should up my voltages in bios? Or do i just have too many hdd lol I thought 750w would be enough but i also have a lot of fans. So now i'm not so sure. And no its never happened to me in windows 7, ive ran games like fallout new vegas and mafia II on win7. Does that mean mac takes more power? Hackintosh doesnt freeze when its just sitting there, i left it on for about 10 hours and it didnt freeze when i woke up, it just seems to freeze after using it for about 30 minutes or so. Also, this might have nothing to do with anything, but only in hackintosh do i hear my dvd drive spin every now and then, theres no cd inside either. It spins every 20 mins or so. Thanks for all your help. I really wanna get this fixed! =(
8. Kernal panic after installation.

thanks for the reply zicoos I couldnt find anything regarding "memory remapping" in my bios so I updated my bios to the most recent version, still couldnt find anything. I'm using a ASUS Sabertooth X58 MOBO. What option should i be looking for in BIOS?
9. Installation was easy, used ##### and ##### (newest releases), I got my nvidia gtx460 working, my sound working, and my network working. I only seem to run into a problem after about 30 minutes of mac use. I'll be browsing the internet or trying to get used to the OS and... BOOM! KERNAL PANIC. Yeah, completely out of no where. The first time this happened a crash report opened up next time i restarted my system. This panic seems to happen when i'm running a lot of things on OSX, I thought it could be my memory. So i downloaded a program that tests your memory called Rember. It checked my memory and said everything is OK. So i'm not sure how to narrow this down, I searched up some posts about pinpointing the problem in a kernal panic log. But im not sure what my problem is. When i open up the console here are the messages right before the crash: 12/11/10 1:24:58 AM com.apple.WindowServer[81] Sat Dec 11 01:24:58 Emmanuel-B-iMac.local WindowServer[81] <Error>: kCGErrorFailure: Set a breakpoint @ CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch errors as they are logged. 12/11/10 1:36:09 AM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.suhelperd[204]) Exited with exit code: 2 Any Ideas?
10. Hackintosh installation problem! PLEASE HELP!

I figured out my problem. On the sabertooth x58 motherboard you have to plug your sata wires into the 6gb/sec sata inputs. So my setup is like this: Dvd drive in SATA 1 (6gb/sec) HDD in SATA 2 (6gb/sec) I didnt get the "waiting for root device" error any more and installation was easy after that. After installation i plugged my dvd drive back into the 3gb/sec sata port 1 and plugged in my hackintosh hdd into sata pore 1(6gb/sec) and my other windows 7 hdd into sata port 2 (6gb/sec). By the way this mobo only has 2 Sata ports for 6gb/sec. Thanks speedbump for your help!
11. Hackintosh installation problem! PLEASE HELP!

Thanks for the reply Speedbump858! I just DLed Nawcom Bootcd and i'm going to try installing again, just one question since im still a noob at this. You said you installed with mach_kernel -v. Does that mean you typed mach_kernel -v into the terminal after formatting the drive? or did you type that on the boot screen before loading mac osx6? My main problem was before the installation it seems like my hdd could not be unmounted, I wish i could get past the formatting and begin the install. I'm going to try to install later on today. Thanks for all your help!
12. So here's the current situation with my Hackintosh build. I'm getting stuck pre-install on partitioning the drive. When i get to the install screen and its time to format my drive I go to disk utilities, partition, name it hackintosh, guid partition and so on but... It seems to freeze on "unmounting the disk", if i hit enter within the first 10 seconds or so it moves to the next step but freezes on "partitioning the disk" any suggestions? ideas whats going on? Heres my pc build... ASUS Sabertooth x58 MOBO 6GB Patriot Memory Intel i7 930 1 TB Seagate Barracuda HDD (SATA) NVidia GeForce GTX 460 Here are the codes i input at the ##### screen: -x -v -f -legacy cpus=1 busratio=21 If I don't put -x and -v i'll never get to the install screen. Any help is appreciated, I know its not my HDD cuz ive seen it listed on other Hackintosh builds on this forum, I also have my CD/DVD drive connected via sata wire to sata port1 and my hdd connected via sata wire to sata port2 and no other hdd or usb devices are connected. Any help is appreciated THANK YOU!
