  1. Why does filevault2 need a recovery partition? I guess the boot loader which does the the login and the rooting of the encrypted drive is stored there. Then it would be easy to invoke it with clover. Maybe just some arguments to boot.efi to NOT boot recovery but start OS X. Or is the login completely handled by the firmware? That would be some work for the clover devs

    Create recovery partition

When I installed mavericks my disk was completly clean. I erased it and created one HFS+ part for OSX. I still got the warning and no recovery partition. I still have my Mavericks install stick. I installed onto a fresh USB Stick (GUID one partition). I did not get the warning but there is no recovery partition: /dev/disk0 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *500.1 GB disk0 1: EFI NO NAME 209.7 MB disk0s1 2: Apple_HFS Macintosh HD 300.0 GB disk0s2 3: Microsoft Reserved 134.2 MB disk0s3 4: Microsoft Basic Data Windows 199.3 GB disk0s4 5: DE94BBA4-06D1-4D40-A16A-BFD50179D6AC 367.0 MB disk0s5 /dev/disk2 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *16.0 GB disk2 1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk2s1 2: Apple_HFS ExtMac 15.7 GB disk2s2d Update: I used dmtest with the USB stick then. Now I have the recovery on the USB and dd it over.

    Create recovery partition

So the installer creates an recovery hd on an external drive but not on the internal when you install on an hackintosh? Did you then dd the partition contents of the usb stick to your internal partition?
  4. I know here are many postings about recovery partition but none of them I found answers my question. I know how to create the recovery partition and wich GUID code it should have. But I don't know which files to copy on it. I tried to create the disk with dmtest and the BaseSystem from the Mavericks Installer but it won't to it because of the windows partition I have. So can someone tell which files from the base system belong on the recovery partition? I plan to boot the partition (clover).

    Clover General discussion

Since I use newest clover revision the turbo setting is gone from the config. I use dsdt. How do I activate turbo with newest revision? Speed step is working (switches between 16x and 34x multi). But it never goes higher which it should with turbo (and did with older revisions and the turbo setting).

    Clover General discussion

The mavericks installation won't start. I just hangs in the loading screen and never goes any further. Using 1835. Using same config that loads my 10.8 installation. I put FakeSmc.kext in /S/L/E of the usb. Is there a way so save the kernel messages with clover? config.plist.zip

    OS X 10.9 DP's builds

Is the password/cloud thing already working in the dp1? I am very unsatisfied with 1Password.
  8. Okay I even tried to change the smc version in clover to avoid the update showing up in the past. Nice to know that ignoring is so easy. Thank you.

    Clover: Ethernet not built-in

I found this blog, too. I just had no effect. I think there are some things going on with clover. As I said it works now but it isn't pretty because there are no cool information in the system profiler. Name of the card etc. Your help would be appreciated. There are some edits in the dsdt but the pci ethernet card is untouched (address 1c0003 i think). Edit: somehow my file upload does not show up. I will up it to a filehoster. Here is my dsdt and ioreg: http://uploaded.net/file/f4wkgxfb
  10. 1. I have no thunderbolt. But the update is clearly stating firmware. So it makes no sense or is even harmful on an hackintosh. 2. Yes I am using clover. I will try using ignoring as a last resort. First I want to find out why this update is showing up.
  11. App Store is showing me "Thunderbolt Firmware-Update 1.0" as an update. Obviously I should not install the update since it's a hackintosh. But when I can't install the update how to I get rid of the message?

    Clover: Ethernet not built-in

I tried every DSDT edit on earth. Didn't work. But I fixed the problem. I was injecting the efi string for my HD4000 with clover. This was preventing clover from making my ethernet pci card built in somehow. I removed the injection and now App Store works again. I activate my HD4000 with DSDT now.
  13. I have a hackintosh running with this board: GA-Z77-DS3H Since there is a atheros on board and the available driver is quite bugy I bought a Realtek PCI card. It works fine with the orignal Apple driver I copied from 10.6. Problem is App Store / iCloud gives the the infamous "Unknown error has occured". I think the problem is that my ethernet card is not shown as "built-in". I did not found out how to tell clover to "make" my card built-in. Can anyone toss me in the right direction?
