HBP got a reaction from ludox in [pre-release] macOS Big Sur
because of server issues with Apple, and due to discrepancies in the install of beta 9 some of us are being forced to install the full os again.  I am in the same boat. downloading the full install after doing updates from 8 to 9 then trying to update to beta 10.

Regarding the problem Stuck on ramrod mentioned in the link: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Desktop-Guide/extras/big-sur/#stuck-on-ramrod where the instalation restarts on a infinite loop with a line near the bottom that says: ramrod exited with status 1 - Rebooting

I want to inform that I had this problem after installing it on an OCZ Vertex 2 SSD and with or without vsmcgen=1,  and with FakeSMC or with VIrtualSMC I could not overcome the problem.
I tested the same Open Core configuration without changing anything on a HDD and (it was painful to wait, but...)  it worked without any problem.
I tested it on a Vertex 3 SSD(more recent than the Vertex 2) and it also worked without any problem.
My problem with "Stuck on ramrod" reboot loop was caused by some incompatibility with these old OCZ Vertex 2 and perhaps related to Apple APFS and it had nothing to do with using or not vsmcgen=1 or VirtualSMC/FakeSMC.

    Z370 you mean, I presume?

If so, your Z370 machine is quite similar to mine (ASUS Z370-F).

Here is my EFI folder, fill in your SMBIOS info and see it helps. You might need some minor changes to make everything work.

My OC could be slightly older than yours, 0.5.1 still, but right before the "MinKernel/MaxKernel" commit. So if you're gonna test it out I would suggest you replace the whole thing, and upgrade later if you want.
    EFI.zip

EDIT: It doesn't have the Thunderbolt ACPI patch since my board doesn't have TB. You might have to add it yourself.

    1. Try to enable Booter->Quirks->AvoidRuntimeDefrag.
    2. Which system is this EFI for? You have three in your signature.
    3. Some options seem to be missing from your config.plist. Start fresh with the SampleFull.plist corresponding to your OC 0.5.1 build, or compare with it and add missing options.
    4. I see you have DSDT.aml defined in the ACPI->Add section, but the file seems to be missing. And DSDT patching isn't recommended anyway.
    5. You have multiple ACPI renames in place, and most of them shouldn't be needed, I would suggest you start with no renames at all and fix them one at a time.
    6. The `Fix RTC _STA` should be achieved by using SSDT patch provided in OpenCorePkg->Docs->AcpiSamples
    7. Although I'm not sure about the ACPI->Block section, I would suggest you disable them until you're sure that it is absolutely required to boot
    8. In OC 0.5.1 you shouldn't use AptioMemoryFix since its functionalities are mostly merged into OC and some separated in FwRuntimeServices. Just include FwRuntimeServices and enable the Booter quirks. You can find detailed information in the Configuration.pdf

That's all I can see in a glance for now..

Sorry to hear about your loss, Glad you, your wife and kitties are safe.
If i were to lose my laptop i would most likely get something newer but still not apple.
Same goes for my desktop (skylake) i would most likely rebuild it but with a newer motherboard and cpu.
If you like to tinker with your hacks then build a hack, if you want less fuss (mostly) then get a real mac.

move the Wifi/BT card off the M.2 shared slot (what you have explained is that your system is sharing resources with the first Pcie slot and the NVME slot) move the card to slot 3 or 4 (the last PCIE slot) should fix the read/write speeds.

I get 1855MB/s write, 2450MB/s read with an Evo 960.

Intelfixup is deprecated, use only latest WEG and LILU.
Let it injected the proper ig-platform.

If it is real mac then the card should be flashed to apple's bios, not ASUS.
If it is hackintosh then there are other rules to go. R9 270 should work in ElCapitan.

Guys, it’s better to start familiarizing yourself with rom tweaking for Ozmosis, because you absolutely need another request if another new macOS release maybe in the future! Take your time by reading the Ozmosis topic and last posts also because of new files are posted, by starting first doing that, you can then post for help, and then with some new informations, why not, you’ll be able to do it for another new builds, this is only in my opinion. Because posting a Ozmosis rom will not solve your problem, as you’ll have more things to tweak as “boot-args, SMBIOS, Graphics Injection in the OzmosisDefaults, kexts and ACPI patch’s”, it will require more time for both sides.

the same 404 Error is happening in Both Sierra and High Sierra, I believe it is due to a forum change where they changed the topic ID or how that information is cached.

I don't have the iGPU enabled. haven't managed to Ever git it and my discreet GPU to play nice, and yes, I can preview PDF's and word docs, and many other files, but if I try to preview a PNG or a JPG all I get is spinning wheel in the frame, like it got lost and can't find the file.

it has been my observation that if you are running a Hack that can accelerate the GFX (Example my GTX 660) you get tearing, when you switch to a non accelerated card like my 750 TI then you don't have the tearing but you don't have GFX acceleration. it leads me to believe that they have not finished the GFX primary HAL for any of the Nvidia cards. this being Beta 1 give them time, I am sure that the Acceleration will come.
