1. I use a dv6666ez. I'm running Lion though. I still think this might help. I attached all the files needed to this post. For all of you who have issue with brightness have a look at this post: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=236835. The Noslider-Version works for me. FN+F8 still crashes my computer though. Battery states also work for me. I use APPLEACPIBatterymanager.kext. I had to revert to an older version of APPLEACPIPlatform (1.3.5). For Graphics (Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS) I use GraphicsEnabler Key in Extra/com.apple.boot.plist file. Works fine. You might need to reinstall the OS if you messed around too much with the Original Files. (I had too). If you want to use HDMI you'll have to include the 8400M GS Rom in the configuration. HDMI isn't hotplugabble unfortunately, though I have to Restart the computer when i want to use it. I replaced my Wifi card with a BCM94321MC. Works Perfect Finally. I have to use a modified version of the Bios though, because HP only allows you to use the Original Wifi Card. Use the attached BIOS-file together with the Offical Bios installer (F52-Version). Google 104-Unsupported wireless network device detected if you want to know more. If you want to use Airdrop functionality in Lion, you'll have to use another Wifi-Card though. There are plenty of posts about supported card on InsanelyMac. I have Issues with Restart/Shutdown even with PowerOnHalt.kext. Evoreboot doesn't help either. This fix is Included in Chameleon RC5 anyway. Might A DSDT-Fix help. The DSDT in this Post prevented my computer to boot unfortunately. This means if anybody can point me to the right part of the DSDT I'd be grateful. Also my Sound isn't Hotplugable (VoodooHDA). I have to manually change the Output device in Sound settings if I plugin a Headset. If anyone has a fix for this I'd also be greatfull. Sounds like DSDT to me also. Archive.zip
2. Can't change brightness on my hackintosh

Just found a solution for this onhttp://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=236835. The Version with No Sliders worked for me
3. HP Pavilion DV6666ez DSDT Help

It's been a while I know. Just wanted to mention that Native works perfectly for me on Lion. I have to use MacPro3,1 as Productname in Smbios.plist. Peculiar because this isn't really the best match. No DSDT Fixing needed. This might also work for Leopard.
4. My Hackintosh runs reasonably well. I just got one annoying problem. I can't change the brightness of my screen. If I try to use the Keys fn+f8 to adjust brightness my computer crashes. What makes things worse is, the brightness seems to go down on its own. After a few hours I have to boot into windows and adjust the brightness. I've seen this tread http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101966 that recommends to use setpci. Does anybody know the prober setpci command to adjust brightness with an Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS or can recommend another solutions.
5. No QE on eVGA nVidia GeForce 9600 GSO 768mb in lion

This link helped me a lot. http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2009/12/ena...celeration.html Graphicsenabler was the one that worked for me
6. fight the backlight brightness control feature

Same question for me. I'm working with Lion however. What would be the setpci command to controll the backlight for this Graphics Card?
7. Make sure you use a recent version of Chameleion. Older versions aren't compatible with Lion. I'm using RC5-r1083 for example. How did you Install Lion? Most Likely you can boot with the install media and choose to boot from your Harddisk in the Installation menu. You could also download ##### a boot CD from www.tonymacx86.com.
8. For me it just was a BIOS option. After I activated Intel VT Virtualizaton everything worked fine. It's just weird that it ran just fine in Leopard without any such option. It took some time till I even considered checking Bios settings.
9. Just Installed Lion on My HP Pavilion dv6666ez. I used Mald0ns USB-Harddisk method. -As Macmodel in Extra/smbios.plist I use MacPro3,1 because it's the only one that works with Native Speedstepping -To get the Keyboard Working I use VoodooPS2. It has to be a 64bit version -For Graphics I use GraphicsEnabler in Extra/com.apple.boot.plist -For Sound I use a VoodooHDAVersion I found here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=183321. If I take the Original Version I can't adjust sound volume. -I use Evoreboot for Rebooting. I have three Issues -Can't Adjust Brightness. Very annoying because brightness Level sometimes goes down on it's own. FN-F7 the key to reduce brightness does nothing. FN-F8 The Key To Increase Brightness crashes my Computer. In System Preferences/Display I see no Options to Increase Brightness -Computer can't shutdown Proberly. It stays on a black screen and makes a lot of noice -I have to use a USB Wireless Stick because there is no driver for the Internal Intel Wireless 3945ABG
10. Hi the Exact Name and Modell of your External Network Card would help for a start. Did you check the HCL at http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.6.5 About your Internal Network Card. According to the HCL several People use this Motherboard with the Internal Network Card. You could try another driver someone recommend Atl2kext20090406.zip for example.
11. HP Pavilion DV6666ez DSDT Help

I tried this with some success. Native Speedstepping works now. Lowest speed is 1,2 Ghz. I can step down up to 0,6 Ghz with Voodoopower. I still have the Problems with Sound if native Speedstepping is enabled. It didn't fix my Shutdown Issue neither.
12. HP Pavilion DV6666ez DSDT Help

I just noticed that I forgot to attach the DSDT-Extract. Here it is acpi_dsdt.bin.zip

I followed your suggestions. I'm now using Chameleon 2 rc5. I also added your code to boot.plist. CPU seems to stay at 60% 1.2 Ghz all the time however. No matter what I'm doing. I also attached the DSDT Extract from Windows
