  1. Yes, I did and just removed it. Then after doing another nvram -c, the KP is gone. Thank you!
  2. Hello, I have a Gigabyte H97-D3H board and an nVidia GTX970 card installed. Setting up OS X 10.10.3 with Clover worked fine, except that I get a KP after each reboot. The strange thing is, that it still shows some old boot args: Boot args: -v slide=0 container-dmg=file:///Install%20OS%20X%20Yosemite.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg root-dmg=file:///BaseSystem.dmg I already cleared nvram (with sudo nvram -c, after sudo nvram -p showed me a stored KP), but this still shows up. In Clover's config.plist, I added kext-dev-mode=1 and nvda_drv=1 as boot flags, and when I tell Clover to boot in verbode mode, I can see that these flags are used, nothing about container-dmg oder root-dmg shows up there. Does anyone know where the hell these information come from? Kind regards hanzoh Anonymous UUID: CE480FB4-3968-6DB4-2C92-770B40FC8F14 Thu May 14 13:16:58 2015 *** Panic Report *** panic(cpu 3 caller 0xffffff800041a46e): Kernel trap at 0xffffff7f82b5663f, type 14=page fault, registers: CR0: 0x000000008001003b, CR2: 0x0000000000000020, CR3: 0x00000002193f2021, CR4: 0x00000000001627e0 RAX: 0x0000000000000000, RBX: 0x0000000000000000, RCX: 0x0000000000000000, RDX: 0x0000000000000000 RSP: 0xffffff810f8fbb90, RBP: 0xffffff810f8fbba0, RSI: 0x000000000000000e, RDI: 0x0000000000000000 R8: 0x0000000000000025, R9: 0xffffff801847a68b, R10: 0x000000000000000c, R11: 0x0000000000000017 R12: 0xffffff8000b10f08, R13: 0xffffff8019de7800, R14: 0xffffff8019de7800, R15: 0xffffff8019eaf800 RFL: 0x0000000000010246, RIP: 0xffffff7f82b5663f, CS: 0x0000000000000008, SS: 0x0000000000000010 Fault CR2: 0x0000000000000020, Error code: 0x0000000000000000, Fault CPU: 0x3 Backtrace (CPU 3), Frame : Return Address 0xffffff810f8fb840 : 0xffffff800032fe41 0xffffff810f8fb8c0 : 0xffffff800041a46e 0xffffff810f8fba80 : 0xffffff8000436683 0xffffff810f8fbaa0 : 0xffffff7f82b5663f 0xffffff810f8fbba0 : 0xffffff7f82b025b5 0xffffff810f8fbbe0 : 0xffffff7f829597ce 0xffffff810f8fbc70 : 0xffffff7f82951512 0xffffff810f8fbcb0 : 0xffffff7f82b03214 0xffffff810f8fbd00 : 0xffffff80008b6371 0xffffff810f8fbd50 : 0xffffff80008fda75 0xffffff810f8fbdc0 : 0xffffff80003e4f5e 0xffffff810f8fbe10 : 0xffffff8000333f8c 0xffffff810f8fbe40 : 0xffffff8000318a93 0xffffff810f8fbe90 : 0xffffff80003293bd 0xffffff810f8fbf10 : 0xffffff80004059fa 0xffffff810f8fbfb0 : 0xffffff8000436ea6 Kernel Extensions in backtrace: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(2.4.1)[619F6C9F-0461-3BA1-A75F-53BB0F87ACD3]@0xffffff7f82947000->0xffffff7f82980fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.9)[56AD16B5-4F29-3F74-93E7-D492B3966DE2]@0xffffff7f80a4e000 com.apple.nvidia.driver.NVDAResman(10.0.2)[EFB702DE-5458-35DF-84DA-E0FFC4DCA500]@0xffffff7f82aff000->0xffffff7f82d73fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.9)[56AD16B5-4F29-3F74-93E7-D492B3966DE2]@0xffffff7f80a4e000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport(2.4.1)[E5A48E71-70F5-3B01-81D3-C2B037BBE80A]@0xffffff7f82ac8000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(2.4.1)[619F6C9F-0461-3BA1-A75F-53BB0F87ACD3]@0xffffff7f82947000 dependency: com.apple.AppleGraphicsDeviceControl(3.8.6)[957EB27F-7D07-3C40-91F5-9B54652F06EE]@0xffffff7f829ed000 BSD process name corresponding to current thread: WindowServer Boot args: -v slide=0 container-dmg=file:///Install%20OS%20X%20Yosemite.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg root-dmg=file:///BaseSystem.dmg Mac OS version: 14C109 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 14.1.0: Mon Dec 22 23:10:38 PST 2014; 3. Hello, I'm planning to build a new gaming PC that should also be Hackintosh compatible. I like vanilla builds, but if that means that I get only mainstream graphics, I'm willing to deal with some custom kexts etc (e.g. the nVidia web driver). Currently, I have the following components planned: - Xeon E3-1231 v3 (because it's only 50€ more and I get higher clock rate + Hyper-Threading, but lose the internal graphics) / Alternative was the i5 4460 - MSI GTX 970 4GB (most silent fans) - Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H mainboard (should be one of the most compatible H97/Z97 boards) (ALC1150 sound and Intel 217 Ethernet) Is this combination possible or will I have to deal with so many problems that I should choose other components? Is having the iGPU useful (switching back to i5 CPU)? When I don't have the iGPU and need the nVidia web drivers, will I be able to boot after the Yosemite installation? Kind regards hanzoh

    Verkaufe Core i7 Hackintosh

  5. Hi, can anybody recommend a WiFi PCI card that is fully 100% OOB compatible with 10.6.3 on an i7 system (with correct Power Management etc)? Thanks

TP-Link TL-WN951N with Snow Leopard working!

So does anyone know which cards are working with i5/i7 on 10.6.3 in 64bit mode? What about the old b/g cards (broadcom 4311 was it, I guess)?
  7. It tells Mac OS X that the SMC chip (emulated by fakeSMC) is the version of a MacPro4,1 so that it behaves accordingly to the i7 and X58 hardware.
  8. d00d, have you already tested F9k yet? You wrote that sleep isn't working for you in F9i and F9j when using a SSD. I had both of them running fine with working sleep, but I only used regular HDDs. Yesterday I got a Intel X25-M and moved my OS X to it. 2 days before I already upgraded to F9k. Sleep still works, so give it a try!
  9. Hi, I looked at my temps in Windows 7 and OS X 10.6.2 (without SpeedStepFix) and they are identical! In Windows the CPU gets the same voltage in idle as in OS X, except that in Windows it clocks down to 1.6GHz (@ default BCLK 133 in BIOS). The only thing that generates heat is the voltage and as the CPU doesn't reduce it any further when it gets clocked to 1.6, there is no point to clock it there, I guess. 0.9V @ 2.67GHz = 0.9V @ 1.6GHz (in terms of temperature) You should test new kexts or a new Mac OS X install with no overclock at all. If your system doesn't panic with normal clocks, then try getting higher and stop when it gives you panics again.
  10. Wow, that worked! I found that in another post, too. Somebody removed the IRQ in PID/RTC/TMR to fix it. Now that I removed it in both RTC and TMR, the stutter is gone. So what is up with THe KiNG's SpeedStep fix? Is it really normal Mac Pro 4,1 behavior not to underclock the CPU when it isn't used? In Windows the i7 runs @ 1.6GHz when nothing is going on... I get 43° on idle @ 2.67GHz.
  11. Hey d00d, thanks for the great tutorial! I already did most of your changes to my DSDT too, in order to try CPU Power Management get going. But I always have the same problem, that my iTunes plays very slowly and stutters when I don't do anything else. The second I move my mouse it stops and plays fine, it seems that the CPU throttles down that much, that iTunes can't play properly. I saw that you changed CID to fix "stutter problems", but that doesn't help either. I tried overclocking it to BCLK 185 like you did, but that doesn't fix the stuttering either. BCLK 133 and 160 show the same effect. I'm on 32bit and use the same kexts like you do, except I run a Disabler.kext that stops AppleUpstreamClient.kext from loading (nVidia mouse lag fix). EDIT: fakeSMC 2.5 (with your plist addition) is the same too Thanks, hanzoh

    10.6.2 Released!

I had the black screen problem too. After several tests (new DSDT, different enablers (chameleon, efi string, injectors), 32 or 64bit), I've come to the conclusion, that my second display was the culprit. As soon as I disconnected it, my system booted just fine. But as I need my second display, and reconnecting it froze the entire desktop, I just replace the 3 kexts in S/L/E starting with NVDA with the ones from 10.6.1 from my time machine backup. The version of 10.6.2 was 6.0.6 and the drivers from 10.6.1 are 6.0.2, so no big difference. Now my displays are both working again as they did in 10.6.1. Everything else is vanilla 10.6.2 and I enabled my graphics via GraphicsEnabler=Yes in PC EFI 10.5 I hope that helps...
  13. Hey guys, I almost upgraded successfully to 10.6.2. Almost, as I can't use my second display anymore. I integrated the DSDT fixes last week (in 10.6.1), so I had very few kexts depending on. I installed the combo updater and rebooted, the verbose output came and when it tried to start the GUI, it just gave me a black screen. After some experiments I found out that all ways of getting graphics to work (GraphicsEnabler=Yes, EFI string, injectors like NVenabler etc) brought the same result. So I switched back to 32bit and removed my second display (Sony LCD TV), boom, it worked again (with GraphicsEnabler, like it did before). But as soon as I reconnect the second display, the first freezes and that's it. If I disconnect the second one again, the first won't come back and just stays frozen. What did Apple change in 10.6.2 and does anyone else have this problem?
