Mac OS X 10.8.2 on a HP Sleekbook 15-b040sl
pockitlint replied to macos4pc's topic in OSx86 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
um sounds like you did a retail install. For the keyboard to work you need the ps2 drivers. theres a usb 3.0 fix you need to do a legacy boot. check out kexts.com (create account) and look for 10.8 kexts for your hardware and or laptop model. right now im trying to do the same on the Envy 4 Beats. anyway check out those options and post back ill try to help as much as i can. -
Installing Mac OS X 10.8 on my new HP DV6T-7000
pockitlint replied to shadyblue9o9's topic in New Users Lounge
hey if its a hybrid with the tiny ssd you have to take out the windows hdd and put in a blank one or a sata 2 hdd from another laptop then you when you turn the computer on it will bring up a prompt to edit the raid settings. and there you would just delete the raid stripe and reboot itll come up again and disable the intel rapid start technology in bios and in the raid screen then you turn it off and put your old hdd back in and you should be able to boot into osx installer. im trying to get it going on my envy 4 1130us. so ill help as much as i can. -
hey what you gotta do is change you bios settings for your card with the bios editor and set your2d clocks to the same as 3d then increase your pwm ramp to be steady 50% until load temps at 70 and make them increment up by 20% after 60c, save the bios and flash it and it should work. Also use pc efi 10.6 with GraphicsEnabler=Yes kernel flag in boot.plist if you want you can save a copy of your rom to /Extra and use the UseAtiRom=Yes kernel flag in boot.plist and rename your rom "your devid here_1002.rom" and the bootloader will use your original rom that you just flashed to ur card. it worked on my 4850x2 2d is way faster now in windoze.

display port is analog which is why it shows up that way. And eyefinity six is not mapped out in any apple drivers. Everyone wants vannilla installs but doesn't buy the vanilla hardware. I'm sure there will be apatch for ya buddy. -

Get the hazard snow leo distro burn it at 1x speed with img burn. Non rw disc. When the cd boots up hit f8 the type no quotes busratio=(whatever your multipier is in bios. While your there make optical boot first.) -x -v when it gets to the install screen click utilities and disk utility and it will show ur hdd and indented will be yur partitions click on disk and then partitions pick 2 equal ones and options guid boot. exit out disk utility agree to all the mumbo jumbo pick your drive and pick the second partition. If partitoning failed reboot the same way and do it again. It just erased all windows garbage off yur hdd and made it blank it should work for sure. Anyway choose custimize on the bottom left after picking your drive. don't pick a kernel don't pick anything but chameleon bootloader the latest version with pcefi I think it's 10.5. we can figure out what you need to install during the verbose boot. ok click install don't verify the disc and it'll take bout 20 minutes. It will say less than a minute for like 5. Don't bail out ever! Once this gets figured out it'll be a cinch. reboot and take out the dvd select where you installed using left and rightarrows and hit spacebar. Hit delete a few times to make sure it didn't insert spaces. now type this you'll see it at the bottom of your screen "boot:" arch=i386 -legacy -x -v that'll take you into "for sure gunna werk ultra super duper safe mode" fill out all the boxes create a login and voila. oh yeah if your keyboard and track pad don't work after install go get a usb mouse and keyboard at walmart to use till we find out what kexts you need you can just return it. SLeo needs usb but I think there's a patch. ok report back lemme know if it went ok or pm me for my email.
