Hey guys easy fix for you guys with sleep problems... It lies in the Bluetooth. Easy solution though... open up the back of the netbook, take out the wifi card and place tape over pin 20. Then place the card back in boot up with the wifi switch OFF, and voila, wifi and sleep! AND, if you want bluetooth, just boot up with the switch on, and before you go to sleep, remember to flick the switch off... For me, I never use bluetooth, so 99% of the time, I have the switch off.... Works perfectly, with the provided kexts above in the guide : ) Happy hackint0shing : )

This file says that it is always "unavailable." Can you upload this zip to mediafire.com or just attach it here? Thank you very much carlitosx
  4. Hi, I've been working fine on a Lenovo S12 ION netbook succesfully on 10.6.6 for a week or two. Today, I had the brilliant idea of installing speedstep to improve my battery life. On reboot, the kernel panics, and I can't boot into safe mode, single user, they all produce the same result: panic(cpu 1 caller 0x2aab55): Kernel trap at 0x29c8b7e8, type 13=general protection, registers: CR0: 0x800.......... goes on...... Error code: 0x000000000...... Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies): net.mercurysquad.driver.IntelEnhancedSpeedStep(1.4.9)@0x29c89000->0x29c8efff ....... Darwin Kernel Version 10.6.0 Does anyone know if there is a bootflag I can specify to disable it? (like you can use pmVersion=0 to kill sleepenabler.kext for example) Help would be greatly appreciated

Alright, I booted with debug=0x100 so that I would get a verbose message instead of the 4 language text kernel panic. Said something about the ACPIBatterManager.kext. @carlitosx's doens't work for me. I had to snag one from kexts.com. This one is now working, and I think it drastically improved my battery. Went from 3:25 to like 4:10. If I can go through my history and find it, I will upload it for others to test. Alright here is the updated or new ACPIBatteryManager.kext. This fixed my issue, and might also for others. I have also included VoodooBattery.kext. Now this isn't necessary, it just is useful if you are using a 9-cell battery from Amazon.com for this netbook instead of the 3 or 6 cells. Have fun AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext.zip VoodooBattery.kext.zip

I have a question. Is anyone else getting constant kernel panics about 45 minutes into use. No matter what I do, safari, music, etc. the machine always seems to {censored} out about 45 minutes in. Any fix for this?

Ok, I'm perfect on 10.6.6 with sleep and all. I want to update to 10.6.8 for security updates and stuff, but when I update, the apple logo spins indefinitely. What packages/kexts do I need to update for a successful update?

Yes, I realized that the hard way. Otherwise, after hours on RedBull, pounding my head on the desk and maybe even having a tear come out of my eye, I got sleep to work. Somehow, everything I did kept it going to sleep. I have sleep now. But I have to shut the switch off first (even when bluetooth is off), then sleep, and before I wake up, I have to flip the switch back on or my wifi bricks. Is there an easier method? And apologies to the frantic post above. I was at school and was in a little of a frank since I need this laptop for school and spoiling the whole battery for a 7 hour school day in like 3 hours is not cool, just because the darn sleep won't work lol.

OK, after struggling on 10.6.8 and failing on 10.7.1, I'm now back on 10.6.6. However, my sleep doesn't work at all! Can you please make a new DSDT for 2GBs of memory? Thanks.

OK, since some of you might want to upgrade to 10.6.8 for a possible Lion upgrade, in step 2 when you're updating to 10.6.6 or 10.6.8, after you have edited the plist file and upgraded, you now are at the step with the bluetooth... the acpi pkg doesn't work in 10.6.8, therefore, you need to use this link to get the updated package.... http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=96422

First off, AMAZING work on this tutorial. You have absolutely made my week. I've been trying to get this to work on the S12 since 2009. Almost three years later and I have a huge smile on my face. Paired with a OCZ Vertex SSD, this machine is as snappy as a '11 Air! Not even an understatement... Few quesitons: Wifi works, however the light isn't on and doesn't blink. Kinda nice since it was annoying, however are other people's lights on? Second, bluetooth doesn't work at all. Even with the package and kext, it's totally broke. System profiler says "no information found" Lid sleep doesn't work, but if i manually make it sleep and open the lid, it works. Other than that, AMAZING! I'm going to try to upgrade to Lion (currently at 10.6.8 with near perfection)
