  1. Definitely interested! Especially for Snow Leopard (10.6) Please notify me: rwk at americom.com if you reply to this with info! Thanks!
  2. On the x505, can you tell me what you used to boot off of? I do not have the optional DVD drive and the X505 doesn't seem to be able to boot from a USB device. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks...
  3. I just found this thread looking for HDMI TrueHD and DTS-HD audio out under OSX86... You say above that HDMI Audio out "works". Have you tried playing a blu-ray rip with either Dolby TrueHD audio or DTS-HD Master tracks? Before pursuing this board further I would like to confirm that there are indeed OSX drivers which support high definition audio output over HDMI. Have you plugged the HDMI into an audio receiver with HDMI inputs, and does it work? Anyone? Thanks! P.S. What about 1920x1080p video?
  4. What's the best case for this board? (For use as a home theater pc) Do HDMI drivers exist for osx86? If not, what is the prospect? They would have to support TrueHD and DTS-HD audio output of course. What are the issues?
  5. VLC 0.9.2 Released

Hi Cave Man, I just found your post above... I am very interested in your experience with Plex and TrueHD as I am running the latest Plex 0.5.22 and I am having problems playing any bluray title with TrueHD ("Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull" and "Kung Fu Panda" for example). Other non-TrueHD titles sound fine. The audio on the TrueHD titles stutters every few seconds. I am running on a 2.66Mhz Core 2 Duo off the local HDD. The video is fine. I am also using TOSLINK (digital optical) to my amp, and the Dolby Digital logo is displayed on the amp. The audio bitrate on the TrueHD tracks is 3000kbps-4000kpbs. Is that about what you experience? From your post it appears you have no problems playing TrueHD. Can you tell me how you are doing it? Do you have any suggestions I can try to get mine to work? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
  6. I thought I would crosspost to this thread in hopes of more coverage... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a 975X chipset (Shuttle SD39P2) and shutdown/restart fail for me. I am running: KALYWAY_LEO_10.5.1intel_SSE2_SSE3 vanilla kernel I downloaded AppleACPIPlatform (from irc.osx86.hu #leopard) and discovered it has the same md5 as the one in my original install: 273867a829e2356b60016b0317242a53 AppleACPIPlatform Needless to say it did not help. I have checked and set all the BIOS settings mentioned in this (and other) threads to no avail. Can any of the developers (netkas etc...?) comment on this situation. Do they know? How does one notify them? It is a particular problem for me because I use automated startup (via WOL) and shutdown to backup the machines on my network (including this one). BTW, restart/shutdown were working on uphuck 10.4.10

  8. Just installed Kalyway 10.4.10 (with patches) on Shuttle sd31p (945g motherboard, pentium d). When I select RESTART from the menu (or when I enter: shutdown -r now from a terminal window) the OS appears to stop, the screen goes blank, but the machine never reboots. Halt does work and the machine powers off. Only restart does not work. I have tried several options including power management (included and not included) BIOS patch, power bundle, but no luck. I have also search google and cannot find any solutions (or even suggestions). In prior release (uphuck 1.3), on same machine. restart works as it should. Any suggestions? P.S. I posted this weeks ago in the Kalyway thread but got no reply. PLEASE, ANYONE? P.P.S. I Just installed on a new Shuttle SD39P2 and the same thing happens. I can't believe no one else has encountered this...

HASN'T ANYONE ELSE HAD PROBLEMS WITH RESTART?
  10. Please explain how you patched this so we can patch future releases (for example the VMware-Fusion-50460 release - AKA Release Candidate 1). If you have a patched kext for this release please post it. Great work! Thanks!
  11. Dual monitors question

I have very close to the same system you have abbub but I cannot get it to work. Here is what I have: . Intel D945GNT Motherboard (with GMA-950 Intel Integrated Graphics) . Wintec Dual-DVI ADD2 board . Two Dell 2001FP monitors I know the board works because it works flawlessly under Windows Vista (dual monitors). Here is what I do: . Install Jas 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3 (with patches) (Semthex 8.8.1 kernel) . Select options: "Intel ATA" "Additional Common Hardware - including AppleIntelGMA950.kext" When install completes, it reboots and I get 1024x768 only (generic VGA) with no other resolutions, no "Display Detection", no QE/CI, and no dual display. From my research, it appears everyone with a GMA-950 just works with nothing else needed. I assume this should be the case with the ADD2 card as well. I have tried everything I can find but I cannot get the AppleIntelGMA950.kext to work. The only thing that works is the AppleIntel915.kext, but it does not detect dual displays. What could possibly be my problem!?!?!? Thanks for any help from anyone? P.S. Are there any other forums where I should post this?
  12. X700 and other PCIE ATI Radeon finally work

Koverg, I am running 10.4.8 (semthex 8.8.1) When I attempt to apply your patch (patch9700-v0.2) , it says "0 matches". Can you provide any more detail regarding what the patch is patching (i.e., to allow patching of perhaps newer releases)? I have my x700 Pro AGP working but without qe/ci (which I understand your patch enables). Thanks!
  13. I have an: ATI Radeon X700 Pro (AGP) Vendor ID: 1002 Device ID: 5e4b card which I am trying to get working on: 10.4.8 (Semthex 8.8.1) I have tried everything suggested in the forum (koverg, callisto etc...) All I get is a black screen (sometimes the mouse barely shows through). I need 1600x1200 w/QE/CI working on this card or I will have to find another card. Has anyone gotten this card working? If so, please detail... Thank you in advance if you have any advice! P.S. The card also shows a "secondary device id" of 5e6b. What is the secondary device id for, anyone know?
  14. I am having the same problem as Unstable Connection but mine is intermittent. I am using an Nvidia 7800 GTX, so I don't think it is ATI related. I got it to clear up by fixing permissions three times and removing /System/Library/Extensions.* My actions may have been useless as it happened yesterday and today it was fine all day. Then at night it started again. No discernible reason why. Maybe it was because I turned the machine off and let it sit a while (Shuttle SN26P). Once it works, it stays up stable. It only happens at boot-up (or within seconds of displaying the login screen). Is NVidieEFI.kext now ready for primetime?
  15. UPDATE!!! I read in another forum that the logitech contro center drivers do not work on os-x with bluetooth. But it also said that the SteerMouse driver *DO* work. So I installed them and yes, they fixed it! Found them here: www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/drivers/steermouse.html Thanks for a great underlying driver that allowed me to get off the ground. For the record, your driver solves the BIOS control problem for the SHUTTLE SN26P MOTHERBOARD!
