1. ATI Radeon 6xxx, working QE/CI

Could be specific to your rig as I didn't have to do that when I swapped my GTX 460 to a 6850.
2. ATI Radeon 6xxx, working QE/CI

Same here. Sleep doesn't work anymore but no biggie as I don't use that feature on my desktops (although it's a must-have for my notebook). BTW, mine is Gigabyte H55M-S2 + i3-530 + XFX HD6850
3. ATI Radeon 6xxx, working QE/CI

Awesome I understand how you feel. I posted over there about your 'achievement' but it was deleted and I was warned that I'll be banned if I post it again. A day later, they announced that they've done what you did a week ago. Thanks again
4. Thanks. Went ahead and updated to 10.6.6 + adding pmVersion=21 to the 10.6.5 SleepEnabler. Works.
5. +1 People have been claiming that sleep works but no one wants to share how it's done. Using SleepEnabler for 10.6.5 or what ?
6. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

Complete freeze. It usually starts with the mouse not responding and later on, the music will just keep repeating the last word and sometimes, the system may even KP. The only way out is a hard reset. BTW, I did notice that of the 2 Fermi rigs that I have, the one that freezes seems to be quite laggy when browsing this InsanelyMac site. Scrolling up and down isn't as smooth as the other Fermi rig that doesn't freeze. Maybe you guys can check it out and compare your 'freezing' Fermi rig with other rigs that you have (i.e. when scrolling up and down on InsanelyMac).
7. Zotac 8400GS 512MB

Good news ! It's working. Connected to my LED TV via HDMI and it works (full resolution & QE/CI) Out-Of-The-Box with just 'GraphicsEnabler=Yes' : Full HD movie is as smooth as it should be. Great stuff ... gonna get another one as spare
8. Thanks to TS here's a fully functional DSDT for this Foxconn 45CSX (Atom 330 + GMA950) mobo : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...foxconn%2045csx Only tiny glitch is that it also created an 'internal' display like those on netbooks so there are actually 2 selectable displays in System Preferences --> Displays (one for the internal phantom (i.e. nonexistent) display and the other for your actual LCD monitor). Other than that, resolution + QE/CI fully functional. DSDT.aml.zip

I don't think it happens to everyone otherwise people like Tony and MacMan (of tonymacx86) would be all over trying to find a fix for it. Personally I've 2 rigs with Fermi and 1 is totally freeze-free : Mobo : DFI LanParty MI P55-T36 Gfx Card : Zotac GTX 460 1GB (the one with reference design + rear exhaust) OS : 10.6.5 Installation : ##### + ##### with GT 240 then swap to GTX 460 + Fermi driver ... and this has random freezing problem (can be 'solved' if video clip is looping in the background) : Mobo : Gigabyte H55M-S2 with DSDT (can't work with Fermi w/o DSDT) Gfx Card : Gigabyte GTX 460 768MB OS : 10.6.5 Installation : #####-GE + ##### and ##### + ##### with GT 240 then swap to GTX 460 + Fermi driver (no diff with either type of installation regarding the freezing issue) Both can be dual-booted to Win 7 and are equally stable when running on that OS.
10. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

Absolutely stable only if I have a video clip looping in the background. Otherwise the random freeze still happens.
11. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

Okay, that doesn't work. Goes into the OS as per normal even without that kext but the random freeze still occurs if no video clip is looping in the background. ... back to the drawing board
12. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

I've been on Firefox all along. Random freezing can happen on Firefox, Finder, Activity Monitor, iTunes etc. ... basically anywhere as long as Fermi is idling. Sidetrack : Never used Safari as it is too alien to me and most importantly, I can't port over all my thousands of bookmarks correctly into it (from Firefox). Yup, this is 1 irritating problem that has to be sorted out sooner rather than later ... esp. now that I enjoy web surfing on OS X more than Win 7.
13. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

It's the same. I want to exhaust all possibilities before surrendering to using a 5770 gfx card (as its performance is lacklustre on 1920x1200). I did try to re-install OS X using a GT 240 (just like my other non-freezing DFI P55 + Zotac GTX 460 rig) and then when everything is up, replace it to the GTX 460 + install Fermi driver. No go as it still freezes on this Gigabyte H55M-S2 + Gigabyte GTX 460 rig. The video looping in the background does work for me. The video clip needs to be of decent resolution ... enough to tax the GPU a little. If it doesn't work for you then maybe you need to use one with higher resolution to increase the GPU load. Anyway, I may try to remove 'AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext' and see what happens ...
14. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

Okay, preliminary findings : Keeping the CPU and GPU a little busy at all times seem to prevent the system from freezing. I tested with VLC looping a muted Full HD music video in the background while listening to iTunes and surfing the web. System has been stable for hours (so far). Hopefully a Pro will come to our help as I'm not into programming or editing kexts / dsdts ...
15. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

Tried everything and it's still the same. I'm now considering one of these options : 1. Re-install OS X using the same method as my other rig with the Zotac GTX 460 (that doesn't have freezing problem) or 2. Replace the Gigabyte GTX 460 with my spare Sapphire Vapor-X 5770
