  1. Okay, so I've finally solved my issue! I ended up removing the DSDT that was included in an extras folder I'd downloaded, and it booted just fine, albeit in safe mode at first, until I could install the proper kexts, etc further from the extras.
  2. Yeah I have that active, do you suggest getting rid of it, running myFix and trying again?
  3. I have the inbuilt Intel HD3000, and an nVIDIA GeForce 540M in my laptop. I can't disable it via BIOS as it doesn't have the option to do so. Pretty close to just giving up.
  4. Thanks for your reply, however I've tried that before, as I said when I'd tried most, if not all boot flags. I tried it again just now, but I can't even get it to boot at all. About 5 seconds in, grey streaks appear at the top of the screen and run down, leaving a dark grey rectangle about a 1/3rd of the way across. I have no idea what could even cause this. EDIT: I opened the USB in my virtual machine, and the kext doesn't even exist...
  5. Hi all! I've just created a bootable USB disk with MacOS 10.8.4 on it in a virtual machine, and added an Extras folder for the N series, which solved a hang during boot, however once I initiate booting, it gets just beyond DSMOS arriving before grey streaks all the way down my screen, in the same pattern each time, regardless of any boot flags and in all combinations that I've tried. This leads me to the rather obvious conclusion that it's a graphics issue, however I cannot find anything on the internet that describes my issue. My specs are in my signature, could anyone offer some guidance? Thanks in advance!
  6. OS X 10.9 myHack USB Installer Beta

My specs: ASUS N53SV: Core i7 2670QM @ 2.22 GHz (w/ Intel HD3000) 16 GB DDR3 RAM nVIDIA GeForce 540M 750GB 7200RPM SATA HDD Hey guys, I tried this, but I get the following result: Thanks!
  7. Should I overclock my CPU?

A basic rule of thumb to use is - "Can I cool this CPU BETTER than the existing cooling method, if it's running at x times it's normal rate?" Because guaranteed an older chip like that is going to get hotter than an Australian Christmas once you get it overclocked.
  8. Hi all, Here are my specs: Toshiba Satellite A200 PSA-F3A Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 1.66 GHz @ 1.66GHz RAM: 2GB DDR2 Graphics: Mobile Intel® 945GM Express Chipset; NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7300 with 128MB DDR2 discrete graphics memory I have EmpireEFI 10.6.3, and have tried installation with an iMac 10.6.2 Install DVD, but it didn't work, simply because it's an iMac disc. Is there a specific distribution that anyone can reccomend for my system? If not I can get a Retail DVD, and can someone outline some basic steps on what I should do? Thanks in advance, Kamikengen
  9. Hi, I have basically the same setup as the users above; I have a Toshiba A200 - PSA-F3A. I have tried EmpireEFI and the MacOSX iMac 10.6.2 Disc, but it could not install on my system. What distribution of OSX86 should I use?
