    Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5

I too am having the same problem. I have the 9800GTX > which I found works well using the guide from AquaMac http://aquamac.proboards.com/index.cgi?boa...=509&page=1 I followed the guide from LifeHacker and used the same network card that they used, but it doesnt work the network just trinkles along and all network speed is slow. I did notice that the network does get faster when downloading a file. it goes from 1kbsec at the beginning of the download and gets faster as the download progresses. when i took the card out, it shows up with the 2 onboard ethernets but they are red then become yellow when i plug them in, then become a absurd IP of 169.254.251.155 - which is not what the IP's my APPLE Time Machine Router uses. I have tried DHCP, DHCP with Manual Address, and Manual. Does this have to do with my apple router? Anyways, heres my Specs: Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Western Digital RE4-GP WD2002FYPS 2TB SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive 12GB CORSAIR 2xGB RAM EVGA 512-P3-N871-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard Also there are problems with the boot for this. everytime i boot without the keydrive in there, it gives me the boot0:error -- I installed chameleon onto the drive and added my same boot configure to this, but no luck. Thanks

    Getting wireless to work

hmm, i need to go buy one now. heh
  4. Ok, so just a thought, i live for wireless. now, if you were to get a wireless bridge or some kinda of wireless device that would plug into your ethernet, wouldnt this work as a temp untill someone writes wireless drivers. you could still controll what wireless network to connect to threw the http admin. something like http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=Wirele...277296122731861 i dont know if a bridge would would be the right peice of hardware. but anyone got any comments or devices that are wireless that plug in threw ethernet and run there own wireless tools. - mabey one of those "printer wireless" or x-box wireless adapter. idk, im gonna start researching it. also, has anyone tried a 3rd party mac card. like on http://macwireless.com/ -sponge

    enlarging hfs+ partition

I just figured out how to make a new partition, check out my post http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=512
  9. ok, so i figured it out: this tutorial is so you can create a new partition, i havent figured out how to Expand the partition but at least youll have some space First we boot LIVE CD linux, doenst matter really what flavor i used gentoo, but get into prompt and: sudo cfdisk /dev/hda then hit new partition and create it, then goto the new partition with the cfdisk program and hit type, change the type of the partition to AF. its not on the list but if you just type "AF" it will make the partition AF, then write the partition table. reboot the computer, open up applications>utilitys>disk utility and format the hard newly created partition. ill do some pictures and what not later and make the tutorial better, but for now, you guys can comment and {censored} around. REMEMBER: DONT MESS WITH YOUR FIRST 6gig DRIVE. thats where your OS is installed. so dont accidently format that.

    enlarging hfs+ partition

OK so this is my update: What i have done is loaded up linux and i used cfdisk to create a partition. ive been looking for a way to format or make the partition HFS+ or even HFS, i beleive mac will format it to HFS+ if i make it HFS. its not to hard to do this. just load up a linux live CD and run "cfdisk /dev/hda" or whatever your drive may be. now i was messing around with "parted" last night in linux, if anyone knows how to use this create a HFS partition http://www.gnu.org/software/parted/parted.html so if you know any way to create the partition in linux then itll work, for now, i got a big fat32 file(geyyy) btw, anyone got a link to the new kernel?
