  1. Is the fix of "DSDT" (don't know yet what it is) is compatible with a 10.6.3 OS on a Dell XPS M1530 ? Thanks ! @talisman : looks like I have a PC almost like yours : maybe you could help for my wifi pb ? Dell XPS M1530 Wifi: Intel 3945 (not working) Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.5 GHz 6M L2 800MHz FSB) Intel HDA / Sigmatel 9228 4096 MB RAMMarvell Yukon 88E8040 256 MB NVIDIA GForce 8600M GT Dell Bluetooth (355 EDR ?) BluRay writer Mat{censored}a BD-RE UJ-225S 300 GB 7200 HD OS: Mac OS X 10.6.3 (MyHackInstaller 1.1)/ Windows 7 Home/Dell Media Direct (and using various Linux Ubuntu/Gentoo/Debian in virtual box)
  2. To repair (MBR) boot, I've used Windows PE from Macrium. Works fine on my XPS M1530. I don't think you need Dell boot CD, unless you did not save all your partitions (DellMedia included). Now I have double boot OSX/Win7 on the same HD and was able to restore all my Win7 installation from Ghost thanks to Macrium Reflect tools only + an utility called gptsync which converts a GUID partition into an hybrid MBR one (needed for windows). I have a few remaining problems on my Dell XPS M1530 under OSX 10.6.3 Snow Leopard : - Keyboard is not working **that** well (some keys are bad, I'm using AZERTY french kb) - wifi is not working (intel 4965) - BluRay drive is not recognized as a BluRay (but is there a mac with a bluray drive ?) - sleep/reboot is not working Except that, it's a real pleasure to have MacOSX and Win7 on the same computer. I want to start iphone development. Is there a possible restriction using AppStore & so on with a hackintosh computer ? Any info would be nice ! Thanks a lot. Note: for sound only VoodooHDA.kext works fine on my computer.
  3. [GUIDE] Leopard on an XPS 1330/1530

Hello ! I have the following configuration : Dell XPS M1530 320 GB 7200 RPM WD in AHCI mode nVidia 8600M 4 GB RAM 9 cell battery (I think) OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 patched with MyHackInstaller 1.1 (Default settings + ApplePS2 - Elliott) Network Marvell Yukon : ok Bluetooth : ok Intel Wireless 4965 (does not work) Sound (works since I've installed VoodooHDA.kext - other kext would not work on my configuration) Shutdown/Restart (does not work as for eveyone in this thread) I can deal with shutdown problem but I'd really miss wifi feature. My question : I've tried "iwifi for 4965" which gives me kernel panic, so I would like to know if there is an alternative (USB wifi key) that would work with OSX 10.6.3. idarwin doesn't seem to support my network card, neither my OS version. Thanks for any help.
  4. Dell XPS M1530 I'm dual booting Mac OSX 10.6.3 Snow Leopard and Windows 7 Home Edition. 1 have one HD partitionned as follow (GUID => Hybrid MBR) BOOT : 1Gb (create than delete partition to have free unused space) MacOSX : 30Gb (HFS+) Win7 : 285Gb (FAT) DellMedia : 4Gb (FAT) Very fast tutorial : - Ghost your Windows 7 and other partitions (using Macrium Reflect Free Edition) - Boot MacOSX (EFI boot CD + OSX retail install CD) and partition disk with a GUID partition - Install MacOSX (with myHackInstaller) - Tranform the GUID to Hybrid MBR using "gptsync" utility - Install new Windows 7 / Restore Windows 7 from Macrium - Fix MBR with Macrium Windows PE Live CD ($30) or another similar tool - Boot Windows and install EasyBCD - Add the MacOSX partition in EasyBCD ("BOOT" disk, MBR) - done ! Note: il will provide a tuto link later.
  5. Sleep on Dell XPS M1530

Hello ! I'm having the same "sleep" issue on my Dell XPS m1530 under Mac OS X 10.6.3 Snow Leopard. Could someone help ? I'm also having an issue with the Wifi drivers which still does not work (it's a Intel 4965 chip and the "iwifi" driver gives me kernel panic). I've found the good sound driver however : use latest "VoodooHDA" driver. It will work.
