1. Alienware M14x VS Lion 10.7

I also have a Alienware m14x and ran in to the same problem. It's really crazy but the only way that I could get around this was to install with a snow leopard DVD, from there i partitioned my hard drive 3 ways. One for windows, one for osx, and one for the installer. I then restored the Lion image to the installer partition, used rBoot to load it up and installed like that. Hope this helps. Brian
2. Alienware M14x - Intel Core i7 2630M

Yeah I couldn't use ##### either, Think it has to do with the lack of USB next. What I did if you feel care enough to try is, have iAtkos L2 on a DVD then install SL. I think mine was 10.6.3?? From there I partitioned my hard drive with a 10GB partition as an extra and then restored the iAtkos DVD image to the partition. Pretty sure I had to use rBoot to get into the installer partition and I think I had to run ##### on the iAtkos partition because iAtkos normally won't recognize your PS2 mouse and keyboard. Good luck, if you need any help just let me know! Maybe we can figure this entire thing out As of now the only thing that isn't working is the USB3.0 on the right side of my computer, Nvidia GT555M, HDMI out, and I think that is it. Sound is kind of weird, voodooHDA 2.7 caused a KP for me so I went back the previous version and it gave me a Larsen Effect so I had to tweak 2.6.1 (Volume is sort of low). -Brian
3. [Success] Lenovo z570 w/Lion 10.7.3 w/Core i7

Did you ever get your mic to work? Sorry If I am revisiting a solved problem but I am using VoodooHDA 2.7.3. But I have a ACL 665. I know this isn't the right thread but If I post a topic it usually doesn't get replied too. But if you can help, this is my problem. ACL 665. I have a unmodified DSDT, If I use the ACL 665 drivers I have absolutely no sound. Uninstall drivers, install VoodooHDA 10.7.3, uninstall appleHDA.kext, repair permissions and I get Larsen effect (mic is being rerouted to the speakers) but the speakers work. I read on a forum that if you rollback to VoodooHDA 2.6 it will fix the Larsen effect. Tried that, IT WORKED but... my speakers were at an inaudible level. So I updated back up to 2.7.3 because I would rather have sound that a mic. Now I am sitting on the Larsen effect (Can be disabled by VoodooHDA Prefpane, changing the input gain from the speakers to 0) but it still doesn't solve the mic not working. Any help is appreciated, and if your solution doesn't help me, oh well at least I learned a little more!

6. Alienware M14x - Intel Core i7 2630M

The only reason I installed Snow Leopard was becasue of the Osx86 Wiki, the guide for the alienware 14x says SL + ##### then Upgrade from app store. But I appreciate it man, I will try it out and post back. Hopefully help anyone else out that has a m14x! Brian
7. Alienware M14x - Intel Core i7 2630M

Hey all, I am kind of new to the forum thing. Figured I would try and get some help, trying to install OS X on my Alienware in driving me crazy. So any help will be much appreciated! Here are my specs: Intel® Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz, 1993 MHz Intel Sandy Bridge-MB IMC Intel HM67 PCH - LPC Interface Controller [b-3] Intel® HD Graphics 3000 NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M Realtek ALC665 @ Intel Cougar Point PCH - High Definition Audio Controller [b-3] PCI Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller PCI Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN PCI NEC uPD720200 USB 3.0 Host Controller I have tried installing so many different ways! Here is what I tried: iAtkos L2 - Burned inside of Windows and burned with Disk Utility inside of OSX. When it booted from DVD the bootloader would freeze when I tried to enter boot flags. Snow Leopard + ##### - Could install with arch=i386 busratio=20 maxmem=4096 PCIRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler = NO. Installed fine, ##### but I could enable HD Graphics 3000, USB 3.0 would lock up the system. Could upate to 10.6.7 but not 10.6.8 (even with BridgeHelper. From Snow Leopard + xmove - Installed Lion fine, could boot with safe mode but nothing would work. Any help or information on something I might not understand or missed would be greatly appreciated. Brian

10. Hello all, I have a Gateway DX series 4720-03. Here are all of my specs according to everest. CPU Type: Dual-core Intel Pentium E5200, 2500 mhz Motherboard Name: MSI MS-7399 Motherboard Chipset: nVidia nFrorce 7100-630i Video Adapter: Nvidia GeFrorce 9400 GT Audio: Realtek ALC888/1200 @ nVIDIA MCP73 - High Definition Audio Controller Network: NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller I have tried many different installations of osx86 and nothing seems to work. My question is, is there a specific DVD that works with my motherboard? Ive looked on the HCL and can not find anything about my computer and/or components on my computer. I have been trying to get a working osx86 install for almost a year. I managed to install one distro in vmware but I'm looking to install on the complete hard drive. Anything you can give will very much.
