  1. AppleACPIPlatform.kext broke my install

Anyone have any suggestions at all? I'd really like to get this thing working again because I can't reinstall it.
  2. I was trying to get my broadcom 4311 wifi driver in my Compaq c714NR to work using this guide, and after I used an easy kext installer to install AppleACPIPlatform.kext I restarted my laptop, now my keyboard and mouse won't work. Is there any way to reinstall the original kext or anything I can do here short of reinstalling OS X? I'm using 10.5.2 kalyway http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...eaded&start=
  3. I'd like to use this and send my data but I'm using 10.5.2, how can I manually install java 1.6?
  4. How big partition size for os x should be?

20 gigs should be more than enough unless you're planning on doing a ton of app installs. Right now my install of 10.5.2 is using 10 gigs of space so you'd have an extra ten-ish gigs to play around with.
  5. Upgrade from Core 2 Duo to Core 2 Quad?

Drop it in and see what happens. If it doesn't work you can always put your old processor in and it should be golden again. And if you put it in and it doesn't work just use a blank hard drive and reinstall OS X to that hard drive, if it works you know what you'd have to do to add the processor. If not, you can just reinsert your old hard drive and move on.
  6. I have a compaq presario C700 and have installed Leopard 10.5.2 and have run into a problem with my onboard wifi. Its a Broadcom 4321AG card, and I can't use it at all. The install went pretty smoothly, though. Everything else worked at start up except for the USB ports and for that problem I just installed modbins kernal. I'm using an external wifi card that's working fine but I would like to be able to use the onboard, then everything would be great. Also I would like to enable tap-to-click for my trackpad but the trackpad tab doesn't come up in System Preferences, only a "mouse" tab, which doesn't have the option. Anyone know how to get around that? Thanks!
