Thanks, I'll try that as well. I do have VoodooHDA -2.8.8 working now, very straightforward installation.

Duh, my rustiness really shows - I remember now that with AppleHDA and with every update to the OS, the usual patching after patching occurs. Maybe, I'll just try VoodooHDA for now and see if I can live with it and see if ti even works on our gear.

macOS Sierra 10.12.5 installation went fine - no issues (just replicated 10.11 kexts into 10.12 in Clover). However, although the AppleHDA from this thread worked on El Capitan, somehow it's not loading in Sierra. Thus, my system has no audio device. Are you guys using a different version of AppleHDA.kext? Thanks...

Well, please don't spend anymore time on the files I uploaded. I know you're pretty busy. I decided to roll back my BIOS to 01.19 and all my ACPI files worked as documented in the guide. It was definitely the BIOS version that caused MaciASL errors in SSDT-16.dsl. Thanks for the hint! Now, I'm also trying macOS Sierra 10.12.5 and will report "anything-out-of-the-ordinary".

No problem, I did the manual patch of my SSDT-16.dsl based on your guide and that compiled fine. You're right I'm on different BIOS version - N85 Ver. 01.20 04/05/2017. Great work, thanks!!!

Terrific guide!!! I only had but one hiccup (zip file attached), a MaciASL compile error of my SSDT-16.dsl. Guess, I'm currently a resurrected hackintosh enthusiast once again by virtue of my current hardware. Haven't touched my wifi card yet but I'm wondering if there are other alternatives to a Dell DW1560. Thanks a bunch, especially to blankmac for all the hard work. SSDT-16-error.zip
  7. I use a HDMI->DVI adapter to connect to a HP w2007 flat panel monitor. It only has Digital (DVI-D) and VGA inputs but no HDMI. So HDMI out from M1530 to DVI in to the monitor through the adapter. Works fine. Connection to the Toshiba REGZA 52RV530U HDTV is HDMI->HDMI using a straight through HDMI cable. This cable is more permanently used in a PS3 playstation. Thus, I just unplug the HDMI cable from the PS3 and plug it into my M1530. This is the setup in my posted pic in #1494. Works fine, too.
  8. Sorry, it's NOT. Notice my sig - it is M1530! An older model in fact (early 2008), that's why I'm using MacBookPro3,1 in my SMBios.plist. What I have already posted, nothing special. My S/L/E is of course (aside from the modified AppleACPIPlatform.kext) is all vanilla. I have to test upgrades on a real Mac sometimes using a external USB. One thing I have experienced is if I use both HDMI and VGA simultaneously, of course connecting to 2 separate external displays, it locks up as well. One-at-a-time works just fine. I have also connected a DVI display using HDMI->DVI adapter and that works fine, too.
  9. Which HDMI (Display or Audio Out)? In my prev post (Page 70, #1397) in this thread, I mentioned my HDMI is working - the display that is. It had been working since I can remember from SL up to now. The HDMI Audio Out is a different story. This one is not working for me either. I guess, obvious to everyone here, why would we care about the HDMI Audio Out? Because it would be convenient to send both of our Video and Audio out using the same HDMI cable. After all it is in the HDMI specs - that it carries both Video and Audio signals. From a PlayStation, that simply works (both Video and Audio are received by the TV HDMI input port). Here is a pic of my HDMI connection to a Toshiba 52" HD TV. You'll notice that I have a audio cable stickin' out the standard headphone out jack as a workaround to send my audio (to a hifi receiver) out. If our HDMI audio out was working then there would've been no need for this. The TV is already connected to a hifi receiver. There are no special kext that I use for this to work, just the ones I've already posted. HDMI-pic.zip
  10. Thanks for the "seal of approval", DarwinX. Glad to see it worked. You may have missed manually rebuilding your cache (UseKernelCache=no). I set it up this way because I plug in my USB into a real Mac from time-to-time and I want to keep my /S/L/E as much "Apple (no hack)" as possible. Also make sure that your kext permissions (specially in the /E/E) are correct - sudo chown -R root:wheel *. The command to rebuild cache in /E/E is sudo kextcache -v 1 -a i386 -a x86_64 -m /Extra/Extensions.mkext /Extra/Extensions/ By the same token, to rebuild /S/L/E cache replace params (after -m) above with /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions/ Lastly, just make sure you have up-to-date DSDT.aml file, if you are using different one than I included in the .zip file.
  11. I have tried a rollback (AppleACPIPlatform.kext) solution to the Sleep problem on Mavericks of our rigs and it has worked flawlessly so far, at least on my hardware config (pls. see sig). BTW, this is not the rollback of AppleACPIPlatform.kext we use under 10.8.5, thus not the one from 10.6.8 either. For reference, I have attached a .zip of my /Extra directory and the ACPI kext itself. This rollback kext can also be downloaded from this link - http://www.osx86.net/files/file/92-appleacpiplatformkext-for-os-x-109/ In addition, I also use the /usr/bin/pmset -a hibernate mode 0 incantation. Albeit, I force this in my /etc/rc.local (also attached) to load automatically at bootup. In my /Extra dir, notice that I use the UseKernelCache=No in org.chameleon.Boot.plist, thus all my user kexts are loaded from /Extra/Extensions. The FakeSMC.kext in my /E/E came form HWMonitor ver. 5.3.901. I hope this works on others, too. AppleACPIPlatform.kext.zip rc.local.zip Extra.zip

    10.9 GM Released.

Anyone experienced net printing issues? Been patient since DP1 to wait 'till GM for this issue to go away but never did. Anyway I can add a network printer shared from a Windows XP server but I cannot print to it. BTW, this had been working fine under SL, Lion and ML. I get the following errors now (pls. see screen shots below)...
  13. Here it is attached - saved from IORegistryExplorer.app version 2.1. MacBookPro7-1_ioreg.zip
  14. If I could be of help, just let me know the ioreg incantation to get the needed dump. I have access to a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) and Mavericks GM.
  15. Just want to share a little variation on my rig's setup... - My HDMI had been working fine up to 10.9GM, although it would certainly not work if you use both HDMI and VGA at the same time (using 2 external displays). It works fine both in extended and mirrored options. - Sleep doesn't work for me in 10.9GM as well but I choose to set my Computer Sleep to Never because of the use of an external display with the built-in display lid closed. This setting has been working fine for me since DP1. - Except for Lion, I've always configured my Extensions to have a separate /Extra directory (enabled through the boot loader option UseKernelCache=No). Because, I use a USB drive on a real Mac for my application collaboration. The app I use has e-license and it's convenient to have the OS with it when I need to use the app on some other real mac hardware. - Under ML, using a separate /Extra directory started working fine again after this behavior stopped working properly, without any 'coercion', under Lion. The only mod I had to do in ML was to rollback AppleACPIPlatform.kext. - Now with 10.9GM, we don't even have to worry about the rollback. All I really had to do to complete my update was to rebuild my cache using sudo kextcache -v 1 -a i386 -a x86_64 -m /Systems/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext /Systems/Library/Extensions/ I've picked up a lot of stuff not only from this thread but others as well, and am so grateful to all the hard work numerous people have put in here. Kudos to all you guys! I'm attaching files I use, although they're already available from this thread individually or otherwise. Extra.zip Pics.zip
