1. Hi guys Trying to update to 10.6.8 from 10.6.6 and having issues- thank goodness for SuperDuper and a cloned hard drive. I have to boot with pmVersion=0 to get as far as I do, otherwise I KP very early on. In verbose mode this is eventually the last screen I see... any ideas? Gigabyte EX58 UD5 i7 920 x2 GTX 260 Nvidia Tried to update with the NVidia drivers, but said that they were unsupported on this machine and it wouldn't update...? Also tried the IO Kext fix- but no dice Anything obvious im missing, would it be better to update to 10.6.7 and then update from there?
2. For other people who have the same problem, I managed to fix this- but it was a bit of a mission. In the end I couldn't repair the disk- so I just had to boot into the OSX dvd and restore my computer from my Time Machine backup- I then had to run ##### to get a couple of things working again, but I am back up and running.
3. Hi there guys This has been a very helpful forum, and i'm hoping that people will be able to help me again. My Hackintosh has OS X 10.6.4 on one hard drive and Windows 7 on the other. Until very recently it was working perfectly, and could boot into either OS and there were no problems at all. I recently enabled Time Machine to backup to an external Hard Drive. Yesterday i tried to boot in OS X (as usual) but a progress bar popped up beneath the normal spinning wheel, it got to half way, disappeared, came back, went to halfway again and then my PC shut off. When I booted into single user mode and ran fsck (and Applejack) to repair the disk I ended up with the error "Cannot create links to all correct files /DEV/RDISK1s2/ (HFS) Exited with signal 8 and then it prompted me to try and repair the disk again. Basically i couldn't get past this stage. I then booted up into Windows and ran MacDrive 8 to try and repair the drive that contains OS X. All went well until the last stage which then said "Volume cant be repaired, you might need to reformat.") So again I rebooted, and this time OS X booted up fine (after a progress bar appeared for a bit) Very odd, it all appeared as normal and worked fine, however, when i sent it to sleep, or rebooted I get the same problem again with it not booting up- and the only remedy is to go back into Windows and attempt to repair the disk... Any ideas? I want to hold Time Machine the culprit, as I turned this on a couple of days again and the problem seemed to start then. I have since turned it off- but the problem hasn't gone away.... Help!
4. This worked perfectly for me as well- thanks! 10.6.4 - EX58 UD5 with Geforce GTX 260 SLI

Did you ever solve this? Have exactly the same issue, can boot using 4gb, but with 6gb I get that message...
6. Hi there guys Desperately trying to get Snow Leopard installed on my Hackintosh, but keep coming up against the same error. I managed to get ##### installed and got Snow Leopard on my machine no problem, everything worked perfectly. However, I wanted to be able to update my machine, so I followed the guide here... http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=185097 Again, this all went fine to begin with- however I had the classic problem of the GTX260 black screen which wouldn't let me boot into Snow Leopard- so I found the fix on http://osx86.net/f19/guide-geforce-gtx-260...-leopard-t4057/ and tried it a couple of times, it all seemed to work fine, but I get the same problem! Still a black screen which won't lets me get in Snow Leopard. Any ideas how to cure this??? In my tinkering, i've also managed to {censored} up my ##### Snow Leopard installation, so the graphic kext has now gone from that. So I thought i'd try to reinstall it again from the ##### CD, now I can't even get that to boot up- I get the error message panic(cpu 0 caller 0x55aa33): "Unable to find a driver for this platform" no idea why this would have happened? If I could boot back into ##### then I might just reinstall that to get the graphics kexts back and just live without being able to update it! Absolute nightmare, spent hours trying to sort this. Each installation is on a separate hard drive, Motherboard = EX58 - UD5 Processor = Intel i7 930 Graphics Card = GTX260 Any one able to help?
