1. AppleHDA patching in Mountain Lion

Hello everybody, I'm reading this thread with a lot of interest, because I want to understand how this patching works. But since Snow Leopard I never was able to do this on my own and downloaded some preedited kexts, which actually work pretty well (Thanks, toleda). I have read through this thread, but I've found that none of you is using my codec: ALC887 So, please be patient with me as I do not fully understand what I need to do get it working. But I try: So first of all I need to patch my AppleHDA by running this command: sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x85\x08\xec\x10|\x87\x08\xec\x10|g' /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleHDA And then you write about layout.xml.zlib and platforms.xml.zlib. Where do I get them and do I need them? What has to be done to get my codec working? My DSDT is already patched with HDEF. Again, I'm sorry to interupt your discussion with my noobish questions, but I really do not know what I should do for my codec. Greetings, xxmacmanxx
2. Hi, is there any chance that there will be a kext that is compatible with AppleHDA 1.7? I have a MSI H67MA-E35 motherboard and no ALC 887 next works despite the kext with front micro from dmazar, I really don't know how to get that stupid sound working! I have the feeling no one has the alc 887 codecs, I only read about 889 oder 888, kind of annoying... Any suggestions? Greetings, xxmacmanxx
3. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Hi Mald0n! Ok, I used ALC8xx.kext from #####, copy & pasted the keys you mentioned in your thread into applehda.kext, rebuild caches etc. reboot and still no audio! To be honest, after moving the AppleHDA.kext back into /S/L/E I got an error that kext couldn't be loaded, after reboot it didn't appear anymore. What should I do? EDIT: Ok, every time I want to repair permissions and rebuild next cache, I get the error message that AppleHDA.kext could not be loaded. EDIT II: I have Lion and I'm using AppleHDA.kext from 10.7
4. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Hey, nice to see my board there also I think the patch there is already applied to my DSDT Still I'm not getting audio to work, I have problems with your guide as described above.
5. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Hi Mald0n Ok, I ran in terminal as I have a 887 codec. I didn't patched plists or so, because I don't have a LegacyHDA.kext or I don't know where it is. It's not in /E/E nor in /S/L/E. I rebuild caches and permissions. Reboot. Still no audio. Any suggestions? EDIT: I use the 10.7 Lion AppleHDA, is a rollback and then the patch needed?
6. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Ok, I have a question. I have a ALC887 Codec. What Number should i use?
7. Speedstepping for MSI H67MA-E35 (B3)

Ok, no problem. I noticed that my sleep works now as well, forced sleep, unfortunately, auto-sleep doesn't.
8. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Hi Mald0n! flAked helped me out with speed stepping. I don't need this NullCPUPowerManagment anymore. Thank you! Next thing is the audio problem. I saw some posts about binary-patching and dsdt patching but I don't really understand what they want from me. Can you help me? Thanks! xxmacmanxx
9. Speedstepping for MSI H67MA-E35 (B3)

You know what? YOU ARE THE MAN (and Mald0n too ) It boots perfectly.. Now it's time to tweak speed stepping.. Will your ACPI Tables work? THANKS! xxmacmanxx
10. Speedstepping for MSI H67MA-E35 (B3)

Hi flAked! Ok, I took the photo, took some more photos that you can read everything Thanks! xxmacmanxx
11. So, sorry to annoy you guys, but I need your help as I'm a total noob. Mald0n, who fixed my DSDT, linked me to a thread by flAked, who made a AICPUPM.kext SpeedStep fix for ASUS P67 boards, because my AICPUPM.kext always gives me a KP. BUT I don't have an ASUS Board. I have a MSI H67MA-E35 (B3) board. I asked Mald0n if he's sure that the speed stepper will work and he said yes, so I read through his thread, which brought me to some ACPI tables or sth. for ASUS boards and an i7-2600k CPU.. But I didn't understand a word, so I need your help! To sum it up: I have an MSI H67MA-E35 (B3) main board and an i5-2500K CPU. What am I expected to do now to get speed stepping and my AICPUPM.kext to work so that i don't need the NullCPUPowerManagment.kext anymore? Thanks! xxmacmanxx
12. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Hi Mald0n! Yes, HPET is enabled in BIOS, I checked it. About the speed stepper, I'm not sure if it's made for every board , because in the first line of the thread it says: Do you think it's working for me?
13. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Hey Mald0n! First of all, ok, I'm willing to do everything now, you are the boss! So, I finally deleted the NullCPUPowermanagment.kext, but unfortunately, I receive the KP at "AppleIntelCPUPM.kext". What am I expected to do know? My kextstat is in the last post if you need it. Thanks! xxmacmanxx
14. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Thanks Mald0n! However, the DSDT seems not to work. I`ve still no audio nor sleep, so basically nothing changed. I removed SleepEnabler and Ev0Reboot as suggested, but not NCPM, because I'm afraid, I could get a KP, because I always got one before if I delete this one. Yeah, I ran Kextstat in terminal, here what I've got: Greetings, xxmacmanxx Kextstat.rtf
15. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Hi Mald0n, because MSI-Boards aren't really supported (very few DSDTs), I need your help! Is it possible that you make me a DSDT for Lion and explain me, what kextes or etc. I have to edit/delete to get sleep, speedstep, power management and audio working natively without using kexts? So, my system is: CPU: i5-2500K (4x3,3) Mainboard: MSI H67MA-E35 (B3) Graphic: Point of View GT430 2GB RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333 Audiochip: ALC887 EDIT: I have FakeSMC, Ev0Reboot, NullCPUPowerManagment and SleepEnabler installed. Do I need to remove them? My graphic is injected by an EFI String. Thanks! send_me.zip
