Mosslack, I thank you for all the hours you put into this piece of the forum, always giving the answers in a patience and understanding way. In fact, your guide made me buy the 1201N to put osX on it. I understand your lack of time to support the all of us, but I really appreciate your effort to make a usable guide for guys like me, who don't have the technical knowledge of programming. I hope your extra free time will give you what you expected!

There you go! Normally I would have so many questions, about why and what for, but in this case I just follow the answers..

I forgive you just this time Everything seems to run smooth now, but I didn't tickle the Asus to the max yet. One thing that I noticed is that Mosslacks method starts up a lot quicker and does not show the whole text-riddle at startup.. but that sure looks interesting for my colleages..

Ahh ok, that's not so clear in the guide (first install chameleon, next update kernel). I guess I have to do it over again, or is there a by-pass?

Hi there, I followed your guide this time. Everything clear, but after installing Chameleon (Chameleon-2.0-RC5-INSTALLER-r629) my screen stays black (or at least: deep blue).. is there a simple way to remove Chameleon?

Don't skip the Step 6.. it is really necessary to do this I found out. If you can't find it: go into the finder-menu, choose "go" > "go to folder" > type "/extra" to find it.

With Mosslacks first installer everything worked. Voodooh, sleep, batterytime. I messed up the system by now, so I plan on an new install. But then again, I have the 1201N. But what I read out here, the Voodooh throws some mud in the water. The alternative sound options (I forgot the name, read a few pages back) isn't a good alternative?

Thanks for that Charaaal! I was always curious if that worked on an hackintosh as well, but never tried it.

1: I can't tell anything about it, never tried.. 2: Have the same message here. It's just a message, never felt it was harmful in any way. One last thing: Yep, replace the DSDT, switch off the machine, swap the memory, hit the power button. As I probably bought the wrong type of memory (the Asus freezes after aprox. three minutes running), there was just enough time to replace the 2Gig DSDT file, swapped memory back etc. I did not found out yet if there is an alternative way to approach a frozen Asus from another machine or USB-stick, but I guess this must be possible.

Pay attention here.. there IS a folder /Extra. To find it, go to the finder, choose "Go" from the menubar (fifth one), there choose "go to folder" (second from below). When you do not delete the contents of this folder, your installation will be messed up, as I found out. - I also could not find it right away.

Just to make sure: did you set up your keys in the Apple prefs? Go to: System prefs menu > language and text (symbol with a flag) > input source (4th tab) > choose your language here. If that doesn't solve the problem, it is something I have no knowledge about..
