  1. hello, I had two weeks ago a gift: Acer Travelmate 5720. Chipset Intel Crestline-PM PM965 CPU Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo T7500, 2400 MHz (12 x 200) Graphic ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT (M74M) etc etc.. First I looked around the forum for the threads about the graphic card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT The response is: not working in Snow Leopard with QE enabled. And I need QE enabled to run the musician software that I use. Ok, my ATI card is MXM II, so I wrote to the manufacturer asking the compatibility with other MXM cards, like the NVIDIA, to find an easy solution perfectly compatible with Snow Leopard. They said that my notebook model has compatibility only with ATI cards, not the NVIDIA. Now my questions are: I had to forget, like it seems, my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT working with QE enabled? The response about the non-compatibility of Acer Travelmate 5720 with other MXM cards like NVIDIA is, as you know, true? Have you to suggest me a MXM II ATI card that work perfectly with QE enabled on Snow Leopard? The cheapest (cause I don't need for graphic software or games) with the SL compatibility... Thanks to everyone has an idea to envelope :-)
  2. after my last post, I tried everything I found on the forums... but I still can't have good results on my video card (2a12): with the right kext installed the brightness function is still reverted, and I can't change the brightness with the Maestro shortcut because of my CPU (Celeron 550)... so at this point I have to choose: graphic card installed with black screen, or snow installed without screen res and QE enabled (that I need to work) please, someone on the forum with my configuration (celeron 550 and X3100 2a12 with well-known brightness bug) has solved this or has any idea that I can try? thx and congratulations for your great work!
  3. I installed SL on my hp6720s following the post in this topic... THANKS FOR YOUR GREAT WORK ;-) I fought every step with the compatibility of my CPU Celeron 550, but has passed! (thx Kate for your good post) now I'm running SN 10.6.4 and everything works right, except (obviously) the video card. I read all the posts about the brightness bug but I'm not able to fix it, also with the Keyboard Maestro controller.. when I try to execute the script (or try the application 'brightness') I read the response: bad CPU type in executable is there a way to edit or to resolve this? PS I don't mind the brightness res, so if there's a way to exclude any setting of it and run only the video card with screen res and QE enabled it would be ok for my use...
