1. Is anyone else experiencing Preview.app crashing on launch? It crashes if I launch it directly or if it is opened by launching a file (JPG, PDF, etc.). I have an AMD 6850. QE/CI is working. UPDATE: I determined that something in my user account is causing the crash. It does not crash with freshly created user accounts. I deleted the Preview preference files and caches, but it still crashes... UPDATE 2: FIXED! I had a broken "Mail Downloads" symbolic link in ~/Library. I deleted it, and Preview.app now works. Here is part of the dump: Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread Exception Type: EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000000000 Application Specific Information: dyld: launch, running initializers /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib xpchelper reply message validation: sandbox creation failed: 1002 Container object initialization failed: The file couldn’t be opened. 2. ATI Radeon 6xxx, working QE/CI

Has anyone been able to resolve the DVD Player, Geekbench, etc., crashes on a 6850? I have tried every framebuffer for Radeon 6000 as well as this method of specifying an invalid framebuffer. IORegistryExplorer still shows RadeonFramebuffer, and the apps still crash. GraphicsEnabler is enabled, and I am using Andy's boot file in this post. My card is a Sapphire 6850 connected with DisplayPort.
3. ATI Radeon 6xxx, working QE/CI

I am successfully using the 27" ACD with my Sapphire 6850.
4. ATI Radeon 6xxx, working QE/CI

I applied the non-MBP 2011 10.6.7 update and, for safe measure, re-copied the Radeon kexts and OpenCL.framework and OpenGL.framework from the MBP 10.6.7 update and repaired permissions. I have not had any issues. I have a 6850.
5. ATI Radeon 6xxx, working QE/CI

The ATI 6000 kexts are now publicly released in the 10.6.7 Update for Early 2011 MBPs. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1368 I extracted all the ATI kexts and OpenCL.framework and OpenGL.framework and installed them on top of the ones posted earlier in this thread. The 10.6.7 update for all other systems does not contain the ATI6000Controller.kext.
6. ATI Radeon 6xxx, working QE/CI

Great! Thanks!
7. ATI Radeon 6xxx, working QE/CI

I am having issues shutting down and restarting after installing the new ATI kexts and OpenGL.framework. Shutdown and restart appear to complete (the monitor turns off), but fans are still running in my computer, and the machine never turns off or restarts. I toyed with the power saving settings in the BIOS and also tried EvoReboot, OpenHaltRestart, and SleepEnabler to no avail. If I revert back to the old kexts or even the Lion kexts, shutodown and restart work normally. Is anyone else experiencing this?
8. ATI 6850

I meant that when I used the Lion ATI kexts with my 10.6.6 install, I got full res with both DP and HDMI connected simultaneously, but no QE/CI. I removed the Lion kexts and installed the 10.6.6 ATI kexts from the latest MBP. I am running 10.6.6. Now I get full res and QE/CI, but only DP works. When I connect both DP and HDMI, I get a KP or a gray screen. Not a big deal for me since I'm only using DP. I am using Andy's boot file in this post above and the kexts at http://bit.ly/eqgJk9.
9. ATI 6850

I got my 6850 working with QE/CI using the 10.6.6 kexts from the new MBP. I am using the DisplayPort. I get a KP if I connect the HDMI. (I have not tested whether the HDMI works on its own.) When I used the Lion kexts, both the DP and HDMI worked simultaneously, but I did not have QE/CI. See http://bit.ly/eqgJk9 for kexts.
10. Has anyone gotten the SPDIF (either optical or digital) outputs to work on this motherboard? I am running 10.6.6 and tried the Realtek 889 kext along with HDAEnabler and the AppleHDA 10.6.2 rollback in the latest #####. VoodooHDA works, but I'd like to get AppleHDA working if possible.
11. ATI 6850

I am using Andy's boot file in this post above. I ended up just copying all the ATI kexts from Lion (15 of them).
12. ATI 6850

I'm getting the same results (no QE/CI), but now I have full 2560x1440 resolution to my Apple LED Cinema Display!
13. ATI 6850

The picture of the Sapphire 6850 Toxic box contents shows it includes two 6-pin power cables. Did yours not come with two?
14. ATI 6850

I have the original Sapphire 6850 (non-Toxic edition) with a standard DP. I use the Startech DP-to-miniDP adapter to connect to my 27" ACD with no issue running Windows. I am NOT using a Mac Pro, however.
15. ATI 6850

I can boot into safe mode without PCIRootUID. The card is detected, but I'm still limited to 1400x1050 and no QE/CI.
