  3. Sorry about that, but, I can't offer any help. DSDT.aml RealtekRTL81xx.kext FakeSMC.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext smbios.plist* - SMproductname key will impact your system performance. look here to make sure the mac pro your smbios is modeled after actually resembles your computer. I use MacPro 5,1* (<key>SMproductname</key> <string>MacPro5,1</string>) Hope this helps. *Performance tuning with FakeSMC & SMBIOS plist
  4. hm, sorry to hear that. Is it GUID & Mac OS Extended (Journaled)? If so, that is correct and I haven't a clue why myhack would be hiding the create installer option. i did a quick google for the symptom and found nothing
  5. Weird. Do you have a properly formattted USB drive plugged in? Have you created a USB installer before?
  6. Yes there is. see this for more photos: http://www.macbreaker.com/2013/06/how-to-install-os-x-109-mavericks-dp1.html
  7. So, today, Mavericks (GM) came out, so we'll be upgrading from 10.8.3 to 10.9 It is pretty similar to upgrading from Lion to Mountain Lion. Need: USB Drive Mavericks MyHack (myHack 3.2 BETA 8) Chameleon (2.1 r2069) Step 1: Install Chameleon.* A couple options are set by default, so, make sure you do a 'Custom' installation and uncheck anything that says 'Lion Only', and uncheck GraphicsEnabler=Yes *Backup your current Chameleon installation: i.e. in your root directory '/', the file 'boot' and folder 'Extra' Step 2: Create a bootable USB drive with MyHack. Open MyHack Choose 'Create OS X Installer', then 'Create OS X 10.9 Install Disk' ... Step 3: Restart your computer and boot the USB drive. It will launch the 10.9 Installer Chose your current Mountain Lion installation when it asks you where you wish to install. (it'll say something about your current installation being recoverable) Reboot You've now installed Mavericks!
  8. waiting for root device after 10.7.2 update

Thank you. This thread lead me to this post: ^what he said
  9. Nope. I don't use it. I didn't run Finalize so perhaps the last two steps (# Sleep reboot issue & # Sleep CMOS reset issue) fix it. also, the dsdt autogen wouldn't work. I installed jruby to no avail. currently the only thing i used Finalize for was the Chameleon install w/ the Extra directory Threepwood, & others, for audio working with our boards: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...221850&st=0
  10. Awesome, worked OOB Mobo: GA-P35-DS3L GFX: Sapphire HD 6450
  11. Maybe some other folks have this board CPU: Q660 Graphics Card: Sapphire HD 6450 512MB DDR5; was EVGA 8600 GTS up until 10.6.5 (week ago) The first thing you need is a working install of OS X. If you have that, skip this paragraph. Download Kalyway 10.5.2 (there may be something newer that works with these boards now; it's still what i use), burn & install. 1. Use this guide made for the EP45UD3P and works with our boards. 2. Audio is ALC888 on these boards. Use this guide to get it working That's it! Software Update works Extra: Graphics: I use DisplayConfigX (it won’t work in eval. mode) to get my monitor to display the correct refresh rate (Sony SDM-S81, 1280×1024 @ 85 Hz), it flickers otherwise. In DisplayConfigX choose ‘Allow all system resolutions’, pick the one for your monitor. & for the 6450, QE/CI started working after updating from 10.6.5 to 10.6.8 For backup, the Lifehacker 'magic' file is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?h1bbs9tlrrbr27o
  12. How I got my ALC888 working in 10.9 Without DSDT

Awesome! Now playing Duke Ellington 10.6.5, P35-DS3L. I'm nervous to update to 10.6.7, anyone give it a go yet?
