1. they dont list macosx drivers for the 8187B on realtek's site, only for vista, and the one listed for the other wireless NIC's dont work, the utility just crashed... so i emailed their support people, and in ~24 hours i had an email back with an attached installer that was universal (ppc/X86)... works fine for my TrendNet TEW-424UB USB adapter along with 10.4.8 (JaS). just thought id post it up since it isnt listed on realteks site or on the Wiki, ill add it later. ATI HD4670

got SL up and running on my i7, did the 10.6.3 combo update, and I have QE/CI, a settable resolution, but I cant seem to run dual head... any ideas? I used the tonymacx86 bootcd/##### method.
3. ROFL, wow, that bay looks a bit hacked up, but besides that, the whole idea is cool... i have a iMac DV 400mhz G3 sitting around, but i'd hate to hack it up... cool project though. it'd be really light with a LCD in it.

Radeon Xpress 200M

wow, im seriously gonna have to switch to OSX on my lappy now, and i JUST got vista installed! lol
5. hate to be a stupid lurker, but ive succesfully gotten 10.4.8 JaS working on two of my laptops quite a while ago, but now im trying to get 10.5.1 on my P4 desktop, ive read that EFI emulation doesnt work on anything but Core and Core2 processors, if thats the case, how do i install from the Kalyway disc that it installs a patched kernel? all i basically see is options for EFI... when i had "EFI - MBR" selected, after the install, it just reboots right when it should be loading the kernel (at the darwin loader)... and goes forever in a reboot loop. EFI for P4 users in the future?

OSX on Acer Aspire 5100

i had jas 10.4.7 running on my acer 5100 w/1gb of ram and the dualcore 1.6ghz turion... the mobility 1100 is basically a rebadged x200... which i DIDNT realize, i had the x200 in my last crappy laptop, but i cant complain cause my acer 5100 cost me $100... honestly, everything else works great, but no hardware acceleration WILL frustrate you till you just give up on OSX... if you investigate into the X200, they admit it will probably never work with acceleration, cause i think the memory addressing scheme is different from other chipsets that do work, like the x300.
7. oops, guess i didnt even realize that, their stupid installer script installed w/o a problem, guess i figured there would be a flag that wouldnt let it install on a X86, lol, and im sure 99% sure that rosetta is really only a runtime for the application software, and have no lowwer level support that would be needed to have a kext file load, correct?
8. so working on getting my friends hackintosh workin, he's got a "trendnet" 802.11b/g card, cant remember the trendnet model #, but its Vendor#10EC and Device#8180... so this is obviously based on the realtek 8180 chipset, which realtek actually has drivers for 10.4.x, in beta form @ http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downlo...;Downloads=true this installs, and doesnt work... any ideas? anyone use this chipset?
9. TTT... should the kext file be replacing anything? on their website it says its for 10.4.x... any ideas guys? btw, im SURE that the device/Vendor ID are correct in the kext

A Comment on the ATI x200 Chipset

true that, ive gotten my laptop as far as showing the right resolution, and getting wireless working, but doing most things is FAR from how it would be on a mac... since then, ive reverted to Vista, then XP... reason being, i need stability/compatability... unfortunatly i cant have this quite yet with Macosx, if the day comes where CI/QE works, ill honestly probably switch to macosx full time...
