  1. [GUIDE] Dell L701X (xps 17 late 2010)

Hi theSlug, I am most probably also going to be getting the Dell XPS 17 (L702X) but some of my hardware is different from yours: Hardware Configuration: CPU : 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7-2720QM processor 2.20 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.30 GHz Chipset : Intel HM67 RAM : 6GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Video : NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 555M 3GB graphics with Optimus Audio : Realtek ALC665 HD : 640GB Sata WiFi : Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000 Ethernet : Not Sure Where To Get This Info. Sorry. So as you can see, my CPU and chipset are different from yours. I just wanted to know if that will interfere with the installation process that you have provided. Also my graphics card is different, although not by much, but I was also wondering if that will affect whether my QE and GL would function properly because I noticed from my attempts to install Snow Leopard on my Dell Inspiron 530 that without QE/GL, Pages would only show a blank document everytime. Since, I plan on doing my work on this notebook, I just wanted to know if those would be working. Finally, the network card I plan to get is Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000 but I have the option of getting these other two: Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1030 and Bluetooth 3.0 Intel© Centrino© Advanced-N 6230 and Bluetooth 3.0 Would Wifi work if I choose to get any of these two? Because on my Netbook, which is running Leopard 10.5.7, I use a Belkin F6D4050 USB adapter. If that works on Snow Leopard, then I can just get the Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000. I realize that since you do not have the same issues, you cannot predict what is going to happen once the installation process begins but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Hello, At home, I have Leopard 10.5.8 installed on my desktop which is a Dell Inspiron 530. I wanted to know if there was any way of being able to hibernate the computer. I also have a net book, an Acer Aspire One, which is also running the Mac OS however its just Leopard 10.5.7, and i was hoping this one too can be hibernated. I read online about using the different widgets and terminal commands to enable hibernation, but I have not experienced success. If possible, please give a possible solution on how to hibernate. Also, tell me if you guys need any additional information, like perhaps the technical specs of my desktop. Thanks.
  3. One Final Problem: Sound!

Any Help will be greatly appreciated! Please and Thank you.
  4. Hello Everyone, I successfully installed Macintosh Snow Leopard by Hazard 2 days ago and everything has been going well, I even installed Windows 7 and successfully dual-booted. The desktop that I am using right now is: Dell Inspiron 530. My Specs are: Processor Type: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.39 GHz. Mainboard Chipset: Intel G33 Express Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT Motherboard Type: DG33M03 500 GB Hard-drive 3 GB Ram Audio: ALC888 HD Audio for 530abcd Network: Integrated 10/100 Network Interface (Intel R 82562v-2 N/100) I have tried following many different guides but failed each time. Sometimes, it just goes into a Kernel Panic, other times the audio symbol in the task bar is not even shown and sometimes it is shown but no audio is achieved. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! I am willing to try anything as I have hit a dead-end, so please provide some guidance. Thank you very much!
  5. [GUIDE] Snow Leopard on Inspiron 530.

I did delete them all and then tried Kext utility and it doesn`t work. not exactly sure why.
  6. [GUIDE] Snow Leopard on Inspiron 530.

Thanks spec, I seemed to have gotten my internet to work but I still don`t have audio working.
  7. Updating Hazard Snow Leopard 10.6.2 to 10.6.4

follow what procedure :S All i do is press the update button , it updates successfully and then it asks for a restart and BAM, kernel panic. I would love to know the procedure you have been following. thanks.
  8. Updating Hazard Snow Leopard 10.6.2 to 10.6.4

actually, hey I had an idea. You know how you can download separate updates by itself in the form of an .iso. Would it work if I did that and then just explored the .iso for the OSInstall.mpkg. It`s like the exact same thing as what you do when you have leopard and u are installing the retail Snow Leopard disk. So would that be able to work.
  9. Hello Everyone, I wanted to know if there was a way of installing the new Snow Leopard update safety with Hazard`s Snow Leopard`s distro. I tried to update already but I got the `you must restart your computer now`kernel panic. My Specs: Dell Inspiron 530 Quad Core Q6600 3 GB Ram 500 Gb Harddrive ATI Radeon 2600 XT Thanks for all the help.
  10. [GUIDE] Snow Leopard on Inspiron 530.

ok I steered completely away from the retail Snow Leopard DVD install and decided to try the Snow Leopard by Hazard. And for the first time, I am running Snow Leopard. But my audio is not working and my network is not working and I`m not completely sure about what to do. However, my video is working fully so thats good. but sound and network are still messed up. So any help would be appreciated!
  11. [GUIDE] Snow Leopard on Inspiron 530.

Nope sry, it didn't work. had two issues. The reason I took so long was because my computer was failing to even turn on, that was one of my problems. when i fianlly fixed this issue and tried to boot mac without my video card, the same kernel panic came. Is there another version of Mac that I can use (like Snow OS X v3.5) to help install mac?
  12. Hey Guys, so far, I have tried to install iAtkos S3, Snow Leopard by Hazard, Snow OS X Universal v3.6 and the retail Snow Leopard DVD but I have had no luck whatsoever. I read places that people had luck with this v3.5 installer on the very same desktop that I run. My Specifications are: Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor Default Audio and Motherboard ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 500 GB Harddrive 3 GB I wanted to know if anyone knew a guide that I can follow (BTW I followed http://www.taranfx.com/how-to-install-snowosx-universal but I have had no success). Also, if anyone knew the options I can select during customization that would be really helpful. Thank You!
  13. Hey Guys, After trying and trying and trying at installing Snow Leopard on my Inspiron 530, I thought I would give VMware a try and see how it sits with me. I was just wondering if anyone can link me to a good guide I can follow because I can't seem to find one. Please and Thank You! Hope to hear from you guys soon. Computer Specs: Dell Inspiron 530 Sound [Default] ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT Quad Core Processor Q6600 2.4 Ghz 500 GB HDD 3 GB Ram Motherboard [G33 Series)

like, take apart my computer, remove the card and then boot again ?
  15. [GUIDE] Snow Leopard on Inspiron 530.

Alright I finished the installation and now I no longer the error for the AppleHDA but it does still stop and it stops at the line: "DSMOS has arrived ** Device in slot: SLOT--1 ** ACPI_SMC_PlatformPLugin::Start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out Intel82566M: Ethernet address 00:1d:09:8e:5e:14 ring desc success: size->4096, virtual:44a4a000, phy:11520000. ring desc success: size->4096, virtual:44a4aooo, phy:11521000. configure tx tdlen->4096. configure rx rdlen->4096. enable success Intel82566MM Info: Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex, Flow Control: RX/TX" Then it just stalls I guess, nothing is happening. So any ideas?
