  1. I've got a problem installing OSX86, and I've been busy with this for two weeks and it's driving me MENTAL, and so I'm hoping you guys can help me out. Guide I'm following: http://prasys.co.cc/2009/08/installing-sno...pard-for-osx86/ Problem: I am installing from the USB stick, with one partition (OSX Journaled). When booting it says 'Starting Darwin/OSX86' and after 30 seconds or so I get a black screen (and I've waited for about 20 minutes, no change). What I did so far: I tried Googling on the symptoms. And eventhough I found people who's system seems to reboot, mine just goes black and keeps reading from the USB stick. So far the symptoms seem to be different from what I have found so far (either constant Darwin, or reboot afterwards). Seeing I can't even type the -v thing, it's hard for me to find where the error is (and I'm not THAT much of an OS expert, eventhough I'm fairly good with computers. But that's once the OS is started ) Specs: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.20GHz, motherboard P4P800SE by Asus. Full specs on http://nopaste.info/eaedc96a3d.html (yes maybe it's a little tight for Snow Leopard, but I need it for iPhone SDK 3.2) What I've done from the guide: (in case someone wonders) Format USB stick Restore Snow Leopard DVD to USB Made sure 'ignore ownership' was off Tried Chameleon 2 - RC1 install which failed, so I downloaded binaries and did (tried once with OSX fdisk, and once with fdisk within the zip): fdisk -f boot0 -u /dev/rdisk1 and dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk1s2 Ran the PC_EFI V10.1 installer from http://netkas.org/?p=119 Made hidden files visible (defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE) Copied the following to /Extras/Extensions: AHCIPortInjector.kext AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext ApplePS2Controller.kext fakesmc.kext JMicronATA.kext LegacyJMB36xSATA.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext PlatformUUID.kext Ran several commands to change ownership, rights and generate kernel extensions (all in the guide succeeded) Replaced the mach_kernel since I'm trying to run in on a P4, as directed in the guide Like I've said, I've been dangling with the extreme list of options for two weeks, and I'm really hoping someone can be kind enough to help me here. It's really much appreciated
  2. Install Windows

I'd advice to do the same, you can give VirtualBox a go too..
  3. Just a few more days until its release. It sure as hell seemed like a long wait for multitasking, of course they wanted to add it as a so called feature for the iPhone 4. Ugh. Hurry up already!
  4. Be careful with XCODE

Thanks for the warning indeed, I was planning on installing this. Was the error created from an unmodded install?
  5. did you try using a USB mouse? in some cases that's supported better than a PS/2 mouse
