  1. AppleHDA Patcher Results

Computer Type: PC Sound Card Vendor: Analog Devices Codec: Analog Devices AD1988B Vendor Id: 0x11d4198b Working: Nothing Not Working: Anything Patcher Version used: 1.1.7 /1.1.9 System Version: 10.5.1 obs: With 1.1.7 two devices appear but no output. With 1.1.9 nothing shows up in the sound preferences. Dont worry im confused as well. I thought this board was a realtek board but when i did a linux codec dump it reported it was a AD1988B. Im guessing the latest ubuntu detects it incorrectly or doesnt have the drivers for it. I will do some more hunting around and post more info later. edit again: Sorry looks like i confused myself with another board. dump.txt
  2. I used the Kalyway disk to prepare the harddrive. It can be found on PB. Someone posted the link to pc_efi 5.2 in the guide. I think its a few pages in. Where/ how did you get your brazil disk. I go a copy from bittorrent so it might be different from a patched retail disk. Yeah it didnt work. The devices were found but no sound. I did some digging around and saw that the guy writing the driver had some issues with alc883.
  3. I used a brazilmac disk and installed 10.5, then upgraded to 10.5.1. Used this guide. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=72493 Things i remember doing to get this to work. Disabled jmicron in the bios Set sata to AHCI in bios Had to use a USB dvd drive/ or a sata one. Because the jmicron is disabled, installed to sata harddrive. Bought a USB keyboard, my ps2 one didnt work when it came to the stage of entering in the user details. As for audio drivers i used the ones further up. Might try and get the applehda ones working tonight, if im successful i will post my codec dump here
  4. I used NVinject. Followed this guide. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=72493 Do you know how to get the system to see the correct amount of Vram. Should be seeing 768mb.
  5. Thanks found those in another topic somewhere. If i could find my linux disk i would attempt to do a codec dump and use the HDA patchers. Other than that looking pretty good.
  6. Looks like im in the same boat as everyone else, Just searching for audio drivers for the p5k deluxe
  7. Leopard Perfect Install

Great guide, worked perfectly on my machine once i got sorted out a usb dvd drive and a usb keyboard Intel Q6600 Asus P5K deluxe 4gb 800 DDR2 XFX 8800GTX ultra extreme.
  8. Also doesnt work with my Toshiba M100, which is a realtek.
  9. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

Dont worry to much I have alc861 and using Appleazalia i can get a output to show up but no sound comes out of the speakers or the jacks. With AppleHDA i get nothing even after editing all the correct stuff. Can even get an output to be listed
  10. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

And both methods dont work for me
  11. Sorry this is a bit of a hijack, but i noticed you have a M100. Im guessing you have a alc861 audio ? Did you manage to get it to work. I cant seem to on mine
  12. Toshiba Laptop Success Stories?

I have a Toshiba M100 (Think the model numbers here are different from the rest of the world) Everything works except for the audio (Alc861) Tried Appleazalia and HDA with no luck.
  13. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

Ive been trying to get alc861 to working using applehda but theres something weird going on which i cant track down. It seems like AppleHDA.kext is actually turning off the audio controller. When installed and i boot to osx there is not output if i then reboot into windows xp there are audio devices but no output. I then have to do a full shutdown and then boot into windows to get audio working. Im not sure if anyone else is working on alc861 but if there is it would be good to see if you have made any progress. Ive attached my codec0 if anyone is interested. alc.txt
  14. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

Thanks i will look at that when i get home from work.
  15. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

No luck here either. I cant get any outputs to show up. Could someone with alc882 and has this working do a ioreg -l -w0 >output.txt then post output.txt here. There are a couple of values in HDAcontroller i would like to check against.
