  1. New MacBooks and MacBook Pro's

replying from my new base model MBP woo hoo!
  2. if yours says HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS21N like mine does, it's an LG drive woo hoo!
  3. iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Released!

going to give this a try as a fresh install, see if i can get everything working.
  4. i have this issue with my Marvell 88e8056 network card since 10.5.5, i have no internet in os x because of it. there are quite a few others with this issue as well in some other threads, from what i can tell, no one has fixed it yet...
  5. Marvell 88E8056 - Help

this doesn't work for me now in 10.5.5 it only worked after a fresh install of 10.5.4 the first time, if i did anything else, it wouldn't work, i had to re-install twice to get my system fully working. so in 10.5.5 i can edit and save and verify and do the permissions, but it never takes, and when it does it starts up with an error that IONetworkingFamily.kext was not saved properly and was unable to load, and no Ethernet shows up in Network Utility, although it does show up in System Preferences/Network and if I boot with -v enabled, it says that interfacenamer was unable to find *any* network devices.
  6. i'm pretty sure i can change the id with just flashing it using nvflash after editing the bios in windows correct? i've flashed mine for higher speeds but not changed the ID, my machine feels just like a real Mac with the aluminum apple keyboard i'm using with it i sync'd all my data over mobile me and copied all my usual apps from my MacBook, it's great having a desktop Mac
  7. I re-installed a used an IONetworkingFamily.kext from somewhere else on the boards that had info about the 88E8056 and now everything is working perfectly! I do wonder how crucial it is that I change the DevID of my 8800GT to 0x600 to have it report totally as an 8800GT instead of just an nVidia card with QE/CI and 512MB of VRAM. http://db.xbench.com/merge.xhtml?doc1=3060...;setCookie=true There's my xbench for today, with my processor at 2.4GHz, it's summer here so I don't overclock cause my room gets too hot
  8. After some toying I have my drives showing up as normal, but I still don't have ethernet, it's the only thing that isn't working for me, and is ridiculous, as I'm relying on a wifi hack with the onboard wifi to use internet on my desktop in os x right now, and it's dropping the connection like a baby learning to walk.
  9. With all of these drivers installed I still do not have ethernet, and not even modifying the info.plist in the IONetworkingFamily.kext fixes this, also, all of my HD's show up with external drive icons, do you have these issues?
  10. This isn't working for me on my P5K-E mobo in JaS 10.5.4 btw.
  11. Marvell 88E8056 - Help

the above driver does *not* work for me on my P5K-E Wifi/AP Deluxe mobo, using JaS 10.5.4 on my Marvell Yukon 88E8056 onboard networking. in fact, nothing so far has worked for enabling my ethernet, which is really getting annoying...
  12. so I'm running a P5K-E, P35, Marvell 88e8056 ethernet, and ADI 8188B audio, with a C2Q Q6600, and 4GB DDR2-800, and a 512MB 8800GT. so post install (having selected the ICH-9 AHCI fixes, NVkust, and my audio drivers, and *apple's* marvell drivers with the StageXNU kernel), my audio worked, and I had QE/CI, but no ethernet, and while my video card worked, it only reported as 256mb, and auto-detected as 1680x1050 and not 1920x1200 on my Dell 2407WFP. when I attempted to change the resolution to 1920x1200, the screen went blue, but I turned off the computer and turned it back on and it came on as 1920x1200. after that I found a link to an 88e8056 ethernet fix in a thread in the hardware/drivers section which did not work, and decided to instead try and fix the graphics card memory issue. so to fix my 256mb problem I decided to try to install NVinject using their own easy_installer, which resulted in a black screen post rebooting. so i'm totally willing to re-install and re-try but i would like some links for these fixes and some advice on how to go about fixing this all up and what all I should choose during the install process. I guess my questions are mainly how I should go about setting up a bootloader so I can choose between Vista/XP/OSX, right now I'm using the Vista bootloader to show me XP/vista (XP is default), and had previously used the vista bootloader with chain0/easyBCD to add the OS X option, but that was a while back and that apparently doesn't work right now, but I forget if I had formatted as MBR or GUID partition map, and which one is actually preferred for this. So any advice is welcome and I don't have any sort of deadline for getting this up and running, I also have a Black MacBook for messing with Mac files if I need to use it for getting OS X on my PC. Thanks in advance, and let me know if there is any information I can give you.
  13. My predicament.

It happened after the update? weird... nothing in the update should have changed that. Have you tried an Archive and Install from the Leopard DVD by holding 'C' while booting to have it boot from the superdrive?
  14. Fixes/Changes you've noticed in 10.5.2

I noticed my wifi breaks every 5 to 10 minutes and the airport menubar icon just says 'scanning' until it finds my network again and it's back to normal, but this happens every 5 to 10 minutes, so it's incredibly annoying. Going to have to downgrade back to 10.5.1 if I can, this sucks...
  15. Windows Experience Index Scores

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 Stepping overclocked to 8x400 = 3.2ghz for 1:1 ratio with my memory. HSF: Tuniq Tower 120 with a 5V Zalman 120mm fan pulling air through it from the back. MOBO: ASUS P5K-E/WiFi-AP, P35 chipset, voltages upped all over this thing. MEM: G.Skill DDR2-800 4x1GB at 800mhz (1:1 with CPU FSB ), 4-4-4-12 timings at 2.0V GFX: XFX 8800GT 512MB, BIOS flashed to 700/1750/1000 made possible with volt soft-mod to 1.1VGPU. Stock cooling PSU: Corsair HX520, 520W Modular PSU HDD1: WD SE16 750GB HDD2: WD SE16 750GB HDD3: WD SE16 500GB HDD4: WD SE16 500GB OS: Vista Ultimate x64 with SP1 Release Candidate Technical Refresh (Build 17128) All packed inside a Lian-Li PC-V1100B Plus II case with all the fans replaced with Zalman 5V modded 120mm's; outputting to a Dell 2407WFP A03 revision display. The new smaller revised G15 keyboard, an MX518 mouse, and lastly the Logitech 5.1 speaker system. I really like my desktop. I keep my companion cube parked on top of it (gift from my GF ) My MacBook scores a 3.0 which is limited by the integrated graphics card. It does Aero of course, but I have it turned off for power savings. My laptop is meant for lasting as long as possible for my classes and between those classes, I could care less about the graphics card performance. I generally stay in OS X on it, no reason to go into windows, although I have it set up and active inside of VMWare Fusion as well.
