1. Try just the PS2 kext. Then repair permissions using the kext utility and reboot.
2. For me I had trouble getting the OSX install to boot from hard drive. I tried the ##### method, tried Manually installing Chameleon, tried Chameleon with PC-EFI.. no luck. I think I must have been doing something wrong though as my current install which bunc sent to me pre loaded is a hazard distro and it uses Chameleon/PC-EFI and works great.
3. I never had a problem with the audio after any install. Even when installing with retail disc booting that with '#####' the audio worked fine. Perhaps you should try VoodooHDA.kext ??
4. Put the Hazzard disc in and boot to it. When you get to the selection screen select osx install but type "cpus=1" then hit enter. This will get it to boot and install. I believe after install on your next boot you need to type -v te remove write caching or something then after that it will boot just fine. If you have any experience installing windows, linux, etc.. this shouldnt be hard for you. The hard part is getting everything to work correctly after install. For me it was the boot loader which i recieved some help from a forum member. Make sure you have a seperate hard drive to install to or split your current one in to two parts so you can use one for the OSX partition.
5. Here is the Archive of kext files you asked for. http://www.sendspace.com/file/9kh7ol thx go to dustin 'bunc'
6. Yes that is the one. I wouldnt pay the 1000$ US price tag for it though. Wait or find cheaper.
7. Ok I have same issue and this just fixed it so far. Go here in registry on windows. HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation\ Add new DWord named "RealTimeIsUniversal" set value to "0" Set time to correct time in windows and reboot. -- For me the time was still correct after reboot which wasnt happening before.
8. For me the alt key works the same as the command key would on a MAC.
9. I had trouble getting it to boot from hard drive with that method CeeB. Seems using Chameleon with PC-EFI 10.5+ works fine. Bunc was kind enough to send me a preloaded drive which works great. I am sure however that installing retail then installing Chameleon=PC-EFI 10.5+ MIGHT work.. You might do yourself a favor by just downloading a pre-built distro like hazard which is the one on mine and Buncs laptops. Yahoo I.M. me if u need any help. picstoyankton@yahoo
10. i got hazard to install fine man. Just it would not boot without using the ##### cd I have. I have yet to get any OSX install to boot from hard drive properly. Either they go to the RESTART YOUR COMPUTER gray screen error like the hazaard distro. OR-- They would just get to the white screen with the apple logo and the spinning thing below it. It would never go anywhere from there.. Would however boot fine with ##### cd. ??? For now I have formatted my spare drive for storage in windows again... Until I get more info on fixing the boot from hard drive issue i am not messing with it again.
11. Asus G72gx laptop ?? No one?
12. I installed 10.6.3 retail using the ##### cd to load. Everything worked perfect, but NOTHING I tried could get it to boot directly from the HD without the boot disc. I tried Chameleon 2 RC4. Also tried replacing the 'boot' file to a PC-EFI10.5 I tried PCEFI 10.5 with no success. I tried using ##### to install as shown in tutorial from tonymac with no success. Can anyone please give me ideas on how to fix this? I am close to giving up completely... very frustrating.
13. Well the hazard distro only worked using the ##### cd. I tried clean install of 10.6.3 then manually installing chameleon 2 rc4 then using PC EFI boot instead of chameleons. No GO.. After i tried PC EFI boot 10.5 No GO.. I tried to reboot to windows to report and I get a lovely NTLDR missing error which i love because this means one thing as Im sure you know. So here i am... Pretty sure I am done trying until something new happens to try.. as it is right now Nothing i tried or was pointed towards worked to enable boot from hard drive after install. My G72gx is the one from bestbuy which is a slightly different model than one purchased elsewhere. This might be why it is failing for me and working awesome for you.
14. Retried the install of Hazard. This time i formatted the drive, it restarted... then does nothing when i boot to that drive.
15. Tried the hazard diisc, and it installed came to the installation failed screen at the end. I rebooted to the loader(chameleon i think they call it) and it loaded OSX's white screen where the activity thing was spinning below the logo. Then the screen goes gray and a box comes up and says I HAVE TO REBOOT HOLD THE POWER BUTTON AND THEN PRESS IT AGAIN. -- it had like five languages that said this. Because this version of the loader seemed to have no issue loading the OSX from hard drive I tried just reinstalling my retail copy using ##### but not formatting the drive to keep the loader intact. This produced the same effects with the gray screen and the reboot computer screen. Man this sucks... EVERYTHING works great after initial boot after retail install but as soon as i load #####/chameleon it goes bad. SUCKS....
