  1. Ati Radeon HD 5650 on Lion 10.7 with CI/QE

I have partial success. I found out what I was doing wrongly. I was trying to install the Lion kexts. Once I stopped doing that but followed the entire procedure, it was working using the kexts that came with my own lion installation. The reason why I say it's partial success is because while hardware acceleration is enabled, my display does not go to sleep after the stipulated number of minutes in the preferences. The display just freezes. A click of the mouse or touchpad will unfreeze the display. Does anybody else have this problem and a solution? I want my display to go to sleep after 10 min. of inactivity so that the screen is black. If the screen is illuminated I can't leave the laptop on at night while I go to sleep.
  2. Ati Radeon HD 5650 on Lion 10.7 with CI/QE

Prior to this tutorial: Resolution is correct, aspect ratio is correct on my Lion 10.7 install. No QE/CI Following this tutorial: I followed the guide exactly, I got to the desktop and found QE/CI isnt yet enabled. In display preferences, I see confirmation that my current resolution is a forced EDID enabled, (that res and aspect ratio were already correct going in to this tutorial) but no QE/CI. Is there something else needs to be done to get it to work?
  3. Prior to this tutorial: Resolution is correct, aspect ratio is correct on my Lion 10.7 install. No QE/CI Following this tutorial: I followed the guide exactly but found that the overwrite folders and profiles existed. I had not previously played with switch res. But I still went ahead to replace everything and reboot. After about 8 reboots I got to the desktop and found QE/CI isnt yet enabled. I see confirmation that a forced EDID is enabled, but no QE/CI. Is there something else needs to be done to get it to work?
  4. May I ask for some help please? I've followed the guide and I've installed Lion on my ASUS P6TSE. It works well but I haven't been able to get any sound output devices. I tried installing the kexts appleHDA and voodooHDA which helped get sound on 10.6.x but it doesn't seem to help on 10.7. Did anyone have another kext or workaround solution?
  5. ati mobility radeon 5650

Did anybody try Kaybl's bootloader to see if it works? It's meant for ATI 5xxx cards for desktop. Maybe mobility series will work? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=231768
  6. I have a Gigabyte T1028 that has similar issues of going to sleep at the desktop after a successful installation on 10.6.0 using NB 0.8.3 and 0.8.4 I have tried removing the Clamshell display and sleep enabler kexts in Netbook Boot maker 0.8.3 and installing that to a flash drive to try and boot my T1028. It doesnt seem to be working though. I cant find the sleeper and clamshell in 0.8.4 package contents
  7. Gigabyte T1028M As a Netbook Tablet Mac?

I've tried installing 10.6 onto the T1028 using NetBook Installer 0.8.3 and 0.8.4 but everytime it finishes installing and I try to boot the OS itself, it goes into sleep mode. This is right after the grey screen with the apple and spinning dial. I havent been able to get it to boot with other boot loaders so far. Anyone face something like this?
  8. T1028 tablet

Do either of you still have 0.8.3F files? Only 0.8.3 Release version and 0.8.4 are out at the website. I've tried both and the laptop boots striaght into sleep once install is finished. 0.8.2 doesnt boot. I've tried installing 10.6 onto the T1028 using NetBook Installer 0.8.3 and 0.8.4 but everytime it finishes installing and I try to boot the OS itself, it goes into sleep mode. 9. ATI HD 5770

I installed the boot file to my Chameleon booter and I managed to get into OSX using it. The hardware detects as a Radeon 5770 although it reports as 256mb of video ram when the card has 1gb. Is this a small problem reporting the statistics or is it a real problem where the os is really thinking the card only has 256 mb of ram? For some reason it still boots to 1024 * 768 resolution and will not allow me to change it in the preferences panel. I've seen a few posts in the past where some people specify the resolution in their boot file. But I cant find the posts. Whats the flags to do it in the com.apple.Boot.plist file?
  10. ATI HD 5770

I found a kabyl bumpy iso on the net which I burned to a disc. It doesnt boot past the loading Darwin text line. I cant find a resource to see if the kabyl bumpy is the boot loader that everyone talks about, and where to find latest versions of it. Is there only one version?
  11. Hi Becks, Hope to try your guide soon! Read about a kaybl boot loader that might solve it but its not working for me. The guide by nekas isnt very informative. He gives links to a rom and a driver file but doesnt say what to do with them after that. If its a rom file it probably has something to do with putting it in the /Extra folder and editing the com.apple.boot.plist to include ATI roms but I havent been able to get that working. Here's what I tried so far: I use the Chameleon (old method from tweak's page 1. New method chameleon doesnt boot even with graphics enabler set to "n" and DSDT files for my P6t SE and i7 920 CPU. Boot loader from Flash I followed these guides: http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5779 http://www.darwinx86.net/forum/24-bootload...r-radeon-hd5000 What I did: Get SnowLeopard Graphics Update and use Pacifier to extract ATI5000Controller.kext and ATIRadeonX3000.kext . Edit in my 0x68b81002 string into the kexts by rightclicking, showing package contents, and editing info.plist. Paste my 0x68b81002 string after <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string> Extract my ATI 5770 bin file using GPU-Z and rename it to 1002_68b8.rom and put it in my boot loader's /Extra folder Modify com.apple.boot.plist to contain: <key>UseAtiROM</key> <string>yes</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>y</string> Use Kext Helperb7 to install ATI5000Controller.kext and ATIRadeonX3000.kext It doesnt boot and I reinstlled 10.6.4 I also tried copying in manually and using Kext editor to repair permissions. It doesnt boot and I reinstlled 10.6.4 (Tried backup and restore with Disk Utility, doesnt work. Tried Super Duper, always fails finding UUID to clone HDD. so no choice, full reinstall everytime. ) I have also tried putting the kexts in the Extra/Extensions folder instead. Doesnt work. I have also tried the ATI5000 injector in this post: http://www.darwinx86.net/forum/24-bootload...r-radeon-hd5000 put it in the Extra/Extensions folder but doesnt work. (Dont understand French, just guessing) Can I ask for help on what I'm not doing right? I also tried replacing Chameleon's standard Boot file with the one found here: http://www.darwinx86.net/forum/24-bootload...r-radeon-hd5000 Did not help.
  12. Strange issues... I tried installing the latest chameleon to a fresh flash. It doesnt even show the screen where I choose which hdd to boot. If i use the old guide's external boot loader files to prep the flash first, and then install the latest chameleon over it, it can work fine to the hdd screen. but after that it goes to a "restart your machine" screen (i must disable graphics enabler for it to even get this far) it was working in the past when i had a windows ntfs secondary drive connected. now that i disconnected everything except the mac hdd, this is happening. anyone encounter such issues?
  13. ATI HD 5770

I need to ask for help on where I'm going wrong. I got 10.6.4 installed following this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=189052 I use the Chameleon and DSDT files for my P6t SE and i7 920 CPU. 14. ATI HD 5770

May I ask for some help? I'm new to building hackintoshes. I managed to get 10.6.4 installed and booting on my P6T SE with a ATI 5770. But its constrained to 1024 x 768. I'm using Chameleon and setting Graphics Enabler to 'n'. My GEForce 8500 GT used to detect fine in 10.6.0 and displayed 1920 x 1080 but after upgrading to 10.6.2 or 10.6.4 it is also constrained to 1024 x 768. I see some of you have succeeded with ATi 5770. I read a guide saying we shoudl install the Apple Released Snow Leopard Graphics Update. It killed my install and i had to reinstall everything. I see here there are various things being tried but they seem technical and i dont understand them. are you patching in a kext and rebuilding permissions and caches?
  15. 10.6.5 goes into an infinite boot loop at the grey screen with the apple and the spinning icon for me. I managed to get the latest chameleon rc5 to book in 10.6.4 by setting graphics enabler to 'n'. I tried it with 10.6.5 but no go. Just finished reinstalling to 10.6.4 at 1024x768, not tried the sound kext yet.
