1. Hey man.. Could you maybe upload your files? I have almost the same laptop, but I can't seem to get it to work. I would really appreciate it :]
2. I was just checking in to see if there was some progress, but it seems us guys with 1600x900 resolution still have some way to go! I'm at the same place as you lordadmiral drake.. Tried all the same things as you, still everything recognized, and still black and backlit.. I'm getting to the point wehre I might reverse my desktop back to windows, untill i can get my laptop up and running fully functional with osx.. I do alot of music production, and many times I fix up mixes and ideas on the go (on my laptop) but it's such a hasle when I use logic on my desktop (which is such an awesome program) and cubase on my laptop :/ I'll keep trying things and check in once in a while, I wish all of you the best of luck :] and if you get any progress, I'd adore you to pieces if you'd pm me :] Thanks for all the hard work!
3. I have almost the same progress as you. Though my display is recognized and running at 1600x900 and tagged as active.. But still I have the black backlit display problem.. I've injected dual linkinto my dsdt as i read it was needed for high resolution displays. But it didnt help, still black and backlit. I tried the EDID overide guide, but I couldnt complete the guide cause the tags i needed to find wasnt in the files i had to find them in.. So I'm pretty much lost for what to do next :]

DSDT Auto-Patcher

Hey MaLd0n! I was wondering if you would take the time to make the dsdt or is it auto patcher? for me? send_me.zip Thanks Edit: I'm trying to get my Internal lvds to work, and was told I needed a dsdt with dual link info in it cause my screen res is 1600x900, so if you could add that as well that would be awesome! The code should be this: Name (_ADR, 0x00020000) // <--find in DSDT and add the following after: // Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package () { "AAPL01,DualLink", Buffer (0x04) { 0x01, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } Hope you can help me

ATI Native drivers

Ok I did what you wrote, but the encoder.txt didnt look anything like yours :/ Mine looks like this: ATOM BIOS Rom: SubsystemVendorID: 0x103c SubsystemID: 0x3637 IOBaseAddress: 0x7000 Filename: BR34877.001 BIOS Bootup Message: BR34877.001 M96 DDR3 128bit 550e/667m PCI ID: 1002:9480 Connector at index 0 Type [@offset 45486]: LVDS (7) Encoder [@offset 45490]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY2 (0x21) i2cid [@offset 45548]: 0x96, OSX senseid: 0x7 Connector at index 1 Type [@offset 45496]: VGA (1) Encoder [@offset 45500]: INTERNAL_KLDSCP_DAC1 (0x15) i2cid [@offset 45571]: 0x95, OSX senseid: 0x6 Connector at index 2 Type [@offset 45506]: HDMI-A (11) Encoder [@offset 45510]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY (0x1e) i2cid [@offset 45594]: 0x90, OSX senseid: 0x1 The weird thing is, that my laptops screen is black and backlit. And as you can see on the image, the internal display is recognized and online but as said, just black and back lit! Image is taken on the monitor connected to the vga port.

I've had a major breakthrough! I took the kexts and rom from this post http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1680267 Took Muchas Modded shrike boot file from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1655182 last in the post I booted with -v cpus=1 GraphicsEnabler=Yes PciRoot=1 Now My card is being recognized, kext loaded with a res of 1600x900 but for now it's only on VGA output, My internal display is black with flickering blue artifacts.. I remember reading in another topic about someone who had the same card and the 17.3" who got it working, so I guess il have to start diggin through posts, and hopefully get the internal working!

Collecting moded framebuffers

Hey man. I see from your signature, that you've got your 4650 (1002:9480) working. I'm gonna try your kexts and rom since my gfx card is identified as the same.. But I'm wondering if you're using any modded boot files and which bootloader you are using?

Ah sorry should have provided more info I guess :] I am running 10.6.7! retail dvd 10.6.3 install with osx86 mod cd! Then used the combo update to 10.6.7 Installed the kexts with #####. Repaired cache and permissions. reboot with -f cpus=1. I then got onto desktop gfx card not recognized and the kexts not loaded. The I reboot with -v cpus=1 GraphicsEnabler=Yes. And that's how I got to the situation in my previous post!
