  1. Hi, Thanks for your work. Things are simplified. When I did this on my dell 1530 2 years before, it took me 2 weeks only to install osx... I tried to install osx on my friend's 6820s. I did the procedure as described in the 1st page. Everything works except airport. I remember i got an error on acpiec when installed the drivers. Has this something to do with the airport problem? When I press the wlan button of the laptop it disables/enables the bluetooth. Thanks a lot
  2. Hello, Sorry to bother you again, I can't make voodoohda work from E/E. I have version 2.5.6. I 'm using Bret's last DSDT, the same kexts as Bret (thanks Bret!). I have a dell 1530 T8100, MBP5,1. I'm not sure about my com.apple.boot.plist which contains: <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386</string> <key>Rescan</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x1024x32</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>0</string> <key>SMBIOSdefaults</key> <string>No</string> <key>DSDT</key> <string>rd(0,0)/Extra/DSDT.aml</string> </dict> </plist> I don't think this is the problem anyway... Thank you guys for your work, my machine works almost perfectly, with dual boot and shutdown/restart. I know that i can add voodoohda.kext to system/library/extensions and have everything ok, but i'm trying to do it in E/E.
  3. Hello, I have already SL installed on my Dell xps 1530 laptop. So i can't follow this guide. However i have a partition FAT 32 to install windows. I want to do so but i ' m worried about booting in chameleon again. How can i restore booting to chameleon after installing XP? Thanks
  4. How to install Chameleon manually (v 2 and v 1)

Hello, I have SL installed on a pc laptop, booting with chameleon RC5. I want to dual boot windows xp. I know that if i install windows, pc will boot windows, not chameleon. I 'm thinking of booting with a boot CD, selecting Mac OS and from there install manually chameleon with your method. Will it work? All I want to do is to "tell" PC to boot to chameleon and then select the OS to boot (Mac or Win). Thanks
  5. Hello guys Thanks for your work, I have a dell 1530 T8100, SL was working without shutdown/restart so i tried to fix this. I upgraded to Chameleon RC5, then used Brett's latest DSDT.aml, then used only the above kexts (deleted 3 others) but used VoodooPS2Controller not applePS2Controller. Then used kext utility. Now SL doesn't open stays in the blue screen after the apple logo screen. I don't remember exactly the names of the kext i removed but they were called something like Legacy...kext, IOATA...kext, Null....kext/ How can i add them back with boot -s? Why didn't the above setup work? I 'm sure i used kext utility to fix permissions (think that was I should do!). EDIT: I 'm using Bretts LATEST DSDT and I mean the one to work with what AB suggested. Should I return to the one posted in the first page of the thread? (If i ever manage to enter into SL again!) EDIT 2: I FIXED IT. Needed to use command for cache in terminal. Thanks anyway! Thanks!
  6. Thanks, thanks, thanks! I ll try what you said and I 'll continue looking for shutdown/restart!
  7. Thanks myrorym for replying. I 've got it working using a retail sl dvd. Then I got sound working (it took me hours) and now I'm trying to make shutdown/restart to work. I can't make it. Should I mess with DSDT things? Or is there a .kext that i should install with Kext utility to library/extensions ? Or should i use kext helper? OpenHaltRestard didn't work for me. What about the nvidia card? I think it's not installed (i have only one resolution and nothing on System preferences) How can i install it? I read that if i do that no restart/shutdown will work. I 'm asking many things, sorry gyus, but I have been reading and reading for the last four days and i can't be sure what to do because many posts/guides are one-two years old... I have a dell xps M1530, T8100, nvidia gt8600! Thanks a lot
  8. Snow Leopard on a DELL XPS M1530

Hello, Thanks for your work. I have a dell xps m1530, T8100 with Leopard (iAktos v7). I followed the procedure above but when i restart the computer i get the message "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button...." I used a snow leopard dvd for my imac which is quad core i7 for the .dmg. Then borrowed one from a friend who has core duo just in case this was the problem.. Same thing happens again. I get the chameleon screen, select the restored usb, then it freezes with the message above. Can anybody help?
  9. Hello guys, Thanks for your work. I have an XPS M1530 T8100 and I installed Leopard with iatkos v7. Now I 'm trying to install Snow Leopard 10.6.2, i have the install dvd from my imac. I tried with Superhai boot cds v5 and v4 and also with M1530_T8300_8600MGT_WSXGA+.iso but i always get the following error: Snow leopard dvd starts and after selecting the language, I get the message "Os x cannot be installed on this computer". I have options to restart or restore. Is this due to the DVD or should I edit the DSDT or something else? Can someone help? Thank you
