  2. Guide Sony Vaio vpceb4joe13.

Hi....I hope I'm posting in the right place....its a Laptop really. Sony Vaio vpceb4joe13. 1st Step...prepare.Hdd Partition magic Installed using Sl 10.6.3 retail. using nawcom usb pkg All ok except Qe/CL…needed For Logic. Wifi/Lan….np just now. Solved QE…via http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=223754 Its a partial solve….cant change resolution partial solve to lan via To get your Yukon 88E8056 Ethernet to work, you need to add your device id to the AppleYukon.kext. Go to Terminal and type: cd /System/Library/Extensions sudo nano /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleYukon2.kext/Contents/Info.plist (find and change: <key>Yukon-88E8053</key>) (to: <key>Yukon-88E8059</key>) <-- change "53" to "59" (find and change: <string>Yukon Gigabit Adapter 88E8053</string>) (to: <string>Yukon Gigabit Adapter 88E8059</string>) <-- change "53" to "59" (find and change: <string>0x436211AB</string>) (to: <string>0x438111AB</string>) <-- change "62" to "81" (press Control-O) <-- saves changes (press Y and Enter) <-- accepts saving to existing file (press Control-X) <-- exits nano sudo chown -R root:wheel IONetworkingFamily.kext cd /System/Library sudo rm -rf Extensions.mkext Extensions.kextcache REBOOT The Lan Device will show in Network Pref but it will show as cable unplugged. tried every trick i could find but no success. In my case it was only needed to be able to trick certain installers that req html and the partial was just enough. many thanks to Insanely Mac.
  3. Sony Vaio VPCEB4JOE13

Hi I've been attempting to install Snow Leopard on a Sony Vaio model no. VPCEB4JOE 13….(full specs attached). 1st attempt using iatkos S3 i know it installed but black screen.(tried with ext monitor attached). 2nd attempt used Nawcom ModCD(USB) with 10.6.3 retail,Installed but no QE/QL Lan or WiFi 3rd attempt used Nawcom installer with MBP 2011 Install DVD (but its for i7) when the nawcom arrived i the chose language next screen told me this could not be installed on this machine. After much searching and info gathering it seems this machine needs the appleintelhdgraphics kext set which came in MBP 1.3 update. I've got those kext copied into system/library/extensions ran kext helper rebooted still no QE. I'm sure these kext will work as I've checked the plist and the device id is correct. I'm not sure if i'm not installing correctly or if i need to alter (edit) something else like ….boot plist . Another thought I had was to delete all other GFX kext….but didn't try it yet. The Lan Wifi is not so important but QE needed. This is the GFX:- GMA5700MHD would appreciate any help suggestions. ...... My apologies.....I found the thread that covers my problem will try to delete this post
