    Recent R9 290x update

Been trying to do this FOREVER! Any chance you could post what you did in clover to get dual monitors to work??

    New Driver for Realtek RTL8111

Thanks for the response, I ended up reinstalling as something was wonky with my EFI partition. Turns out SIP wasn't fully disabling- once I got it completely disabled (0x67 csrconfig in info.plist) it works like a charm!

    New Driver for Realtek RTL8111

Any chance we can get this driver working with el Capitan? I can see the interface in network preferences, but it stays in a "disconnected" state. Running 10.11 gm EDIT: Chipset is realtek rtl8111e , on a gigabyte z68ap-d3 (rev 1, non UEFI) mobo

    r9 290 (non-x) yosemited help

From what I've read though, overall support seems better? I don't use sleep on my desktop, so I'm thinking of doing a clean install as a test.
  5. Just curious if everything is working for you in el Capitan - I have the same board - is there anything special you had to do to get it up and running?
  6. Very interesting - I hadn't seen that patch before, and in fact, I am using the mac pro 6,1 definition - I will have to give it a go this weekend! Cheers!
  7. Thank you! Yeah, definitely a showstopper here as well. I didn't see that info anywhere else, either, you just saved me a TON of time and most likely wasted effort. Really, if I can get sleep working that'll pretty much have me sorted since the monitor issue only happens from a cold boot. If I can just put the system to sleep instead of shut down, that's all I'll really need.
  8. So I've got my hack working fairly well, with one or 2 small issues. Setup: yosemite 10.10.3, clover (legacy mode) z68ap-d3 rev. 1, f8 bios i5 2500k (@4.2-4.4 oc) 16gb DDR3, 180G SSD os drive r9 290 (powercolor turboduo, non-reference) Only issues are lack of sleep support, and video card issues - namely, flashing screen at start (fixed by unplugging / replugging monitor or sleep/wake display, which does work), no dual monitor support. I'm hoping going to UEFI bios will help with sleep / wake, and also possibly with GPU issues I'm going to try and flash a UEFI BIOS on my video card as well. Intuitively, it seems everything 'should' work together better if it's all UEFI, which my mobo's bios is still currently legacy BIOS (award). Which begs the question - if I do update to UEFI - which I've already found a compatible, working update for my board - will I have to do a reinstall? Or, just delete / generate new DSDT? Thanks in advance!

    r9 290 (non-x) yosemited help

Thanks for that info, and verifying everything still works on 10.10.3! You've probably saved me several hours of trial and error! The only other thing i'm wondering - can you have HDMI plugged in? And, does your card's fan control work in OSX? I Ask because my main issue is now that I can ONLY have one monitor plugged into DVI; the second I plug in my tv via HDMI, I get 2 black screens that requires a reboot. I don't really need the HDMI display for mac osx as I mainly use that for gaming in windows; however I really don't want to have to plug and unplug something everytime i want to play a game (the way my desk is set up makes this a pain). Thanks again, any further info is greatly appreciated. I'll make sure and post the results of my experimenting!

[HOW TO] Modification of AMD FB + Clover injection

Is this process still relevant for an r9 290 (non-x)? I got the card working with a single (DVI) Monitor connected, using only FakeID of the 290x (0x67B11002) in clover. only issues are: Flashing screen on boot - have to unplug and re-plug monitor on startup - very annoying with the way my desk is set up. Can't have a 2nd screen plugged in. Again very inconvenient as I like to leave my TV plugged in (HDMI) for gaming in windows. I'm hoping getting my connectors patch data can resolve this issue?

    r9 290 (non-x) yosemited help

So I'm going to try and find my own connectors data (thanks for posting that guide, very handy!). You mention other things might fix it... can you elaborate on that? I've got a powercolor turboduo r9 290 that gets identified in about this mac as "Radeon 8xxx", flashes at startup, but otherwise works great once i unplug / replug the monitor - just by inserting FakeID 0x67B11002 and setting the framebuffer to Baladi, No modification of the kext needed. Do I need to edit the AMDcontroller8000 kext? or would just continuing to use FakeID in clover work the same (would prefer this way in case apple updates those kexts in the future)

    Clover Config

So after disabling usb 3.0 in the BIOS I was able to get mine to boot off the hard drive and into OSX, however for some reason it's identifying my graphics card as a 270x; I can't find where in your config.plist it's doing that since I took out all the existing video card stuff and replaced it (all i need to get the 290 working is hawaii framebuffer and the fakeID 0x67B011002. Frustrating, since I have to wait for the display to go to sleep (about 5-10 minutes) to login to my account!

    Clover Config

edit: somehow I forgot both that I posted the original request and missed the notification that you replied. Many thanks!!! Giving this a shot now. I'm assuming this should also work with a 2500k and ati 290? (assuming i use the correct fake ID and change relevant cpu settings?)

    Clover Config

Is there any chance you could re-post your config.zip? Attachment is missing and I've just switched over to clover from chameleon. I've the same motherboard, but with an i5 2500k.

    Asus Q501LA - Sleep

Everything on the laptop works fine - except wake from sleep. All methods to put laptop to sleep work - apple menu -> sleep, close lid, etc. Front power light indicates sleep. Upon pressing a button to wake / pressing power / opening lid (whether it's been asleep for 30 seconds or 30 minutes) it starts waking up, and then powers off.
