  1. Transfer Files Loop/Hang

Ap, already found the answer, all you have to do is not boot in safe mode (at least thats what I did) and boom no problem.
  2. Installation Stalls.

When I install kalyway's 10.5.1 onto my computer i seem to get this error message over and over again. I have tried installing from inside VMWare with many different setups, all writing data to the actual harddrive and i get the same error every time. It will freeze after this point and force a restart. Tried -Changing the IDE order -Booting into vanilla -Booting native (no vmware) and i still get the same error message -a different hard drive (gave me an b0 error, i wont even bother with that) -legacy mode -Easily 15 different VMWare configurations Im kind of at a dead end at this point. I got JaS 10.4.7 to work a while back and thought about doing a clean install, but I lost my JaS disk so I decided to make the jump to leopard Any help would be appreciated Specs E6600 DP965LT motherboard (Intel, latest BIOS) 2 GB DDR RAM 5300 500 GB Samsung HD (sata) 60 GB Maxtor (ide) 8800 GTS Video Card BenQ DVD+_RW (ide) USB Powered DVD RW (usb) It would even be helpful if someone could post how they did this in VMWare to see if im overlooking something, or if someone has as similar setup and could tell me how they did it. 3. http://www.dynexproducts.com/pc-29-4-10100...ci-adapter.aspx This card was supposed to work with OSX 10.1.x and the text file included with the drivers says 10.2.x My question is, should it still work with 10.4.7 ? The driver is a .dmg file and has inside an Installer that puts a .kext file in my Extensions directory, but even after installing it, it still wont show up under my Internet Connections list. I have tried it a few different times, re-installing, unplugging and replugging in the LAN cable, still nothing. I cannot get through to tech support to ask them any question (as they are not there apperently). I have heard that this is supposed to work from a few different websites. Does anybody have any clue as to if theres some sort of problem with the hardware, it needs a different driver, or just isn't compatable ? Any help would be appreciated

1480 Yay I get the nice round number ! Special Events in 1480: The Spanish Inquisition was started (and subsequently led to a wildly popular spinoff short on Monty Python) Da Vinci invents the parachute (what history doesnt say is that he also invented the airplane to test his parachute, and also invented skydiving in the meantime)
  5. Intel Onboard Ethernet

It didn't really do anything, still showing no connection. It does show up under system profiler as Built-in-Ethernet, with BSD device name as en0
  6. Intel Onboard Ethernet

I've heard that the IONetworkingFamily.Kext from 10.4.3 might fix it, but I cannot find it. Any help there ?
  7. Intel Onboard Ethernet

After a deep forum search Intel DP965LT Intel OnBoard 10/100/1000 Gigabit LAN 82566DC Is not recognized in OS X, it just shows Built in Ethernet and Built in Serial port, with the ethernet greyed out. Has never connected, and according to the setup assistant, it cannot send a signal out. Do i need a driver, a new card ? Any help is appreciated Thanks
  8. Load of /sbin/launchd failed

Well, reburning the image slower did make it work better. I also disabled my Disc Drive and used an extrenal USB disc drive. Now, I have a new problem, Mac will now not recognize my hard drive, just the disc and the disc drive (shows up as a 4.4 GB partition) it gets past select your language and then to the install where part, but then nothing. ...fun times...if anyone has help with that, greatly appreciated. But at least it got to that point. It still under my main disc drive gives me the error "Still waiting for root device" Going to sleep following this post
  9. Load of /sbin/launchd failed

See, I should mention I have used 2 different drives, 1 USB external and 1 Internal, and both gave me the same error. So I will attempt the (re)burning of the disc on a different media type at slow speed. See how that turns out
  10. Load of /sbin/launchd failed

Thanks for the quick responces I'm installing to a hard drive from a burnt DVD, no VMWare as of now. Ive tried the methods with the "make a virtual system in VMWare then mount to a hard drive" but for some reason in VMWare I cant install 10.4.7 under the guest OS FreeBSD or else I get the message that says "THis would be the equivilant of a CPU reset on a normal system" so I have to run it under Windows NT, and then when I attempt to add another real partition of a hard drive, it doesnt show up in Mac. BTW Love your work, really easy to install in VMWare. Only wish my real hardware would let me right now.
  11. Load of /sbin/launchd failed

Many thanks to whoever can help me with this. I have installed Mac OS X under VMWare and I'm now trying to install it native. Everything goes well till I get to the following - SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed, ASC = 0x64, ASCQ = 0x00 - disk0s3: unsupported mode - Load of /sbin/launchd, errno 5, trying /sbin/mach_init - SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed, ASC = 0x64, ASCQ = 0x00 - disk0s3: unsupported mode - Load of /sbin/launchd failed, errno 5 Followed by nothing at all. No Install screen, nothing. I have tried the following -Switching the disk order (both PATA) HD IDE 0:0 Disk Drive IDE 0:1, then visa versa. Yes i did change the jumpers as well -Removing all non-essential equipment -Using an external DVD disk drive and having the HD set to Primary on IDE -Just kicking it (not really) My sys specs: MoBo: Intel DP965LT RAM: 2x 1GB sticks, running in dual channel CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 VidCrd: ATi Radeon X800XL HardDrive: MAXTOR 60 GB Disk Drive: (1) BENQ Dual Layer DVD Burner 8x (2) External IOMagic Single Layer DVD Burner using USB Version of Mac: JaS 10.4.7 (<-is genius) on a Dual Sided DVD (Only 1 side used, that shouldn't affect it, have used it before in VMWare with a degree of sucess) Etc. 2 TV Tuners 1 Hauppauge PVR-150 and one ATi TV Wonder 200 (not that that matters) I will continue trying whatever comes into my head, mabye I might find something I overlooked and try that. But anyone with help, I would very much appreciate it. TDW PS I forgot to mention that most other hardware configurations give me a 'Still Waiting For Root Device" error message, so if anyone also has an answer for that, I would greatly appreciate it as well.
