@ghost8282 Interesting, but what if you run make with 7 and build with 12?

What do you mean by "doesn't happen"? The command does nothing when executed? Nothing logged either? What happens when you do not include "-j $(getconf _NPROCESSORS_ONLN)"? Does $EDK_TOOLS_PATH evaluate properly?

I wonder whether multithreaded BaseTools building is broken, but vit uses it...

Something is wrong with this description I am afraid. You should not be able to build any binary at all without running make -C BaseTools. Maybe you had some older tools compiled in some other directory out of the tree (i.e. outside of edk2 directory), and they were used instead of the ones you checked out?

    Hi everyone
This post is more concerning all our current and futur Just Joined members. Back in the days we had IPB v3.x.x software version, we implemented a quiz to prevent spammers from posting their articles. But since the last forum upgrade (to IPB v4.x), the quiz plugin needed to be completely recoded from scratch for Invision Community 4.x but never seen the light. As a result, it allowed all our Just Joined members to post and create new topics almost over the whole forum... including spammers.
So to overcome the problem related to the absence of a quiz to counter spammers, I just created a new group promotion rule that will move all members from Just Joined group to Newbies group once they reached 10 posts.
But that this rule can make sense, I also removed all forum access (from creating new topics and replying) to the Just Joined group except New Users Lounge section. So for asking for help, please do it in that section 'till you reached Newbies group level.
With that move, it will not prevent spammers from posting but at least their content(s) will be condensed in one and only area, which would help us to better deal with them.
So before you ask why you no longer are able to post in a specific area, this is why.   Of course, once accessed to Newbies group, you'll also have some restrictions but it should be more in accordance with the permissions you currently have. But as reminder, to have a full forum access, you need to reach full Members group level (50 posts).
    Thank you for your understanding.
    BR

Having exact same stuck screen with my attempt to use "Oc Libs" with different project.
Got same result while loading Oc with bcfg cmd with no Bootstrap. Something like:
    - Oc failed to get SmBios table from SystemConfigurationTable because it run to early, that I already resolved.
    - They lost "Virtual FileHandle"?
    - OpenRuntime is not running / running late after boot.efi already loaded?
    * No idea whats going on there

@ghost8282 You don't need to set it at all if you think that, but if you want to, yes. The first part is GUI locale, the second is keyboard layout, they are independent.

@Planet X SyncRuntimePermissions is more of a bug fix to make RebuildAppleMemoryMap properly on most machines. The idea of using RebuildAppleMemoryMap instead of EnableWriteUnprotector is to let the OS map memory more securely, i.e. memory that should be writable cannot be executed from and vice-versa. With EnableWriteUnprotector, all memory is writable (when calling UEFI, NOT during regular OS runtime) and most data is executable, violating common security patterns. However, if EnableWriteUnprotector cannot be disabled with both on, you are out of luck for now regarding security.

    Hi everyone,

Long time no see ! Was busy for quite some time. That included a long stay in a hospital to fight COVID-19. Please be careful everyone, even if you think "I'm young enough, no lung or heart condition, etc., I should have mild or no symptoms" : it can still go suddenly all very bad. So please, be careful.

I'm ok now so enough of that.

In the last few days, I did some rework about APFS bootable volume detection. I'd like to share so if there is a regression, you know where it may come from.

Before there was an "APFSUUIDBank" where all folder from Preboot and Recovery were stored. Problem with that was wrong version information, wrong icon, if, for example, your Preboot contains 3 different macOs version to boot. Title weren't great as it was something like "Boot Mac OS X from Preboot".

Now, APFS detection is made at ScanVolume. APFS Preboot and recovery can contains folders whose name are an UUID. I called this UUID a "APFS target UUID". Booting through one of these folder end up having the volume with this "target UUID" as root volume. These target UUID are stored in ApfsTargetUUIDArray in REFIT_VOLUME structure.
In ScanLoader(), a loader entry is created for each target UUID from ApfsTargetUUIDArray.

Let me know if something is wrong.
