  1. The NVIDIA 9500GT Thread

Hi everyone, I'm not sure this is the right place to post... Here is my problem : I've been working for 1 year and a half with kakewalk on a Gigabyte X58A UD3R config (see signature for details). With Os 10.6.6. I'm now having trouble with the Nvidia 9500GT card in newer version of 3d apps (Daz Studio...), and even display bugs in Word. Looks like all this is comming from the graphic card. I see on Nvidia's website that there is no official drivers for the card on mac so I don't even know how it's really working on this hackintosh. What can I do to fix theses graphic problems ? Is there any kext stuff or so that can be updated just for the card ? I'm a bit lost with hardware trouble solving on hackintosh. If someone can point me the way to go... Thanks
  2. Hi guys, I've been working for 1 year and a half now with kakewalk on a Gigabyte X58A UD3R hardware (see signature for details), and I've been cautious with updates until now so I'm still with Os 10.6.6 and Kakewalk 2.2. But I'm now having some trouble with the nVidia 9500GT graphic card in 3d software and there is no official support for this model on Mac on nvidia website. I installed Kakewalk in a noob way, following step by step guide so I'm a bit lost when it comes to the underlying working of it. What would you recommand to fix the graphic card ? Try some kext install (I don't know exactly how this works...) ? Update system ? Completely reinstall a new kakewalk ? (by the way can I simply update kakewalk ?) Thanks
  3. It wasn't a connector problem since I plugged/unplugged it several times in my tests and it produced the same error even in external usb box connection. I also make a disk check but nothing wrong appears, seems a software mess, cleaned up by fresh install. Anyway, all working fine now. Thanks
  4. Ok. I finally solved the problem by removing the hard drive. Then, kakewalk managed to boot from cd and I went with my Clone HDD, then I could plug my broken drive in USB with an external box, format it and recover my system with the clone. Don't understand exaclty why the drive was jamming kakewalk even without booting on it... I also made the update to Mac OS 10.6.7 (I was still under 10.6.4) and everything seems to work fine so far... But I didn't updated kakewalk (2.2) to 3.1 and I'm not sure I'll give it a try as everything is working fine now. Thank you for your answer.
  5. Hi everyone, I have a Hack pro based on a Gigabyte X58A UD3R running with kakewalk and it has been working fine for nearly one year now. But yesterday it jammed while powering off so I needed to shut it down with power supply. Now it displays at reboot: EBIOS read error: Device Timeout Block 0x406cfc60 Sectors 0 And ends up with Memory allocation error ! Addr= [etc.] This is a non recoverable error! System HALTED I tried to reboot with my old kakewalk 2.2 boot cd and it gets stuck with nearly the same error: Reading ramdisk image bt(0,0)/Extra/Preboot.dmg no ramdisk config... mounting: done EBIOS read error [etc.] I found almost nothing about this error on the forum. I tried to remove the ram sticks (3) one by one but it doesn't change anything. Any idea? I see latest version of kakewalk is now only available on USB key but what to do with no mac is available? Last time I needed someone to send me the right generated disk image for my mobo to burn it on a Windows pc. Anyway I don't know if latest kakewalk would solve this error. Thanks
  6. How do I remove this kext? I don't have NullCPU in my Extra/extensions folder...
  7. Thanks for the info, Phorte. I updated my signature. My MB is a X58a one (my bad), rev1.0, so it seems not to be a rev matter. I tried sleepenabler 10.6.3 30-03-2010 given by ProjectY but it didn't fix the problem. The behavior is not the same as yours, though, on my hack waking up completely reboot, each time. Waiting and seeing too...
  8. Hi everyone, I finally managed to run my X58A UD3R based hackintosh with kakewalk. (Dumped my ATI card and bought a Nvidia 9500GT. Thanks to thoses who helped me.) Everything works fine exept that it can't wake up from sleep, it reboots when I hit keyboard or mouse. I used the southbridge's SATA ports for my drives, not the Marvel/Gigabyte ones as told in some tuts. There shouldn't be sleep troubles with Kakewalk install for OsX 10.6.3, should it? I read some stuff about kexts needs for this kind of problem, but I don't know exactly what to do with my config... Could anyone help me?
  9. Ah! F..k! S..t! ?§%#{}?!!! (Thank for your answer, though) I asked on this forum a few days ago and they said I was ok with a ATI card before HD5xxx serie... Well, so can anyone confirm that this one is ok for a kakewalk hackintosh: GAINWARD 9500GT-512 HD
  10. Hi Ray, Thank you very much for the .iso. But I have a problem at OsX install (I have a 10.6.3 dvd). When I boot on the retail dvd with chameleon, it starts with the grey apple loading screen for several minutes (don't know if it's normal), then displays a jerky pixeled screen and move no more (Dvd is still reading, though). I assume this is a graphic card driver problem. I have a ATI HD4350. I tried both VGA and DVI ports. Any idea of what's wrong?
  11. Up! Please help... Could anyone upload the x58a ud3r board .iso for me somewhere?
  12. Well, the problem is not burning the .iso but creating it: I can't run kakewalk.app on my ppc mac, nor on a windows pc... Why not providing the .iso for each board ? They're not a lot.
  13. Hi everyone, Thanks for previous answers. I received all the hardware this morning and I was going to burn my kakewalk cd and... the app can't run on a ppc 10.4 system. And legacy .iso in the download is said not to work with X58 chipsets. And I don't have a 8Gb thumbdrive to burn everything on it, so... what do I do?! Is there a place to download a premade .iso for X58A UD3R board? Thx
  14. Hi everyone, I have a doubt now I'm going to buy all my hardware: does kakewalk need a copy of an existing snow leopard install on a drive, or just a retail dvd? It's not clear in the tutorial... Thx
  15. Merci pour la précision, niko m'ba.
