  1. no idea. im in the same situation, i get corrupted colors but right resolution and graphics acceleration enabled in internal display. still waiting for help in this topic. in he mean while ill try installing 10.7 to see if it gets better with it
  2. that's because maybe he is under 10.6.7 or previous. under 10.6.8 the available personalities in ATI4600controller.kext are Gliff, Shrike and Flicker. any other than these will end up with the default RadeonFramebuffer
  3. that's because if you inject any personality not included un the ati controller kext, it will use the default one (RadeonFramebuffer). i found out that the hd4670m card has only 2 configurable outputs. lvds + any other available. (vga,DP, hdmi). also, if you use lvds + vga teh internal display shows distorted image and vga ok. but if you use lvds +DP, the internal display turns black with backlight and DP ok. i think any digital output interfere with lvds. i' ve tried multiple transmiter encoder configurations, and the best working turns out to be the default framebuffer (RadeonFramebuffer) is there a way to findout the conection table for this personality?
  4. so thgere is no connectorinfo hex table for radeonframebuffer that could be edited? is there a way to see the automaticly generated conector info?
  5. does any one knows in wich kext is located the conector info of the RadeonFramebuffer personality. i belive thta is the default framebuffer used when there is no match for the framebuffer injected by chameleon
  6. after reading the whole post i wanted to share my experience so far. i have a dell xps 1647 i5 430m radeon hd4670m (1002 9488). snow leopard 10.6.8 fully working. i use it as a desktop with a monitor attached. i use chameleon azimut graphicsenabler modules latest revision. i have ati4600controller.kext hexedited to enable lvds vga and display port. followed mucha's post. dumped bios, radeonhd log, etc, but still black screen with backlight enabled on internal display. used shrike, flicker and gliff. with varios results ranging from no image in either output, to vga working. as far as i know, the best option was using peregrine with vanillia ati4600controller. it resulted in corruptes image lvds; corrupted image +vga extended or mirrored and black lvds + displayport mirrored or extended. when using peregrine , the framebuffer is RadeonFramebuffer, that i suppose its a default framebuffer since peregrine its no longer in ati4600controller.kext. its there a way to extract the radeonframebuffer connector info? since its the best working framebuffer it would be useful to know its parameters and to improve maybe shrike in order to get lvds working this is my shrike modded 02 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 09 01 00 00 12 00 00 05 10 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 10 02 06 00 04 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 01 00 00 01 01 01 02 and my bios dump ATOM BIOS Rom: SubsystemVendorID: 0x1028 SubsystemID: 0x02fe IOBaseAddress: 0x2000 Filename: BR036993.002 BIOS Bootup Message: BR036993-002 M96 DDR3 128bit 400e/800m PCI ID: 1002:9488 Connector at index 0 Type [@offset 45846]: VGA (1) Encoder [@offset 45850]: INTERNAL_KLDSCP_DAC1 (0x15) i2cid [@offset 45926]: 0x95, OSX senseid: 0x6 Connector at index 1 Type [@offset 45856]: HDMI-A (11) Encoder [@offset 45860]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY (0x1e) i2cid [@offset 45949]: 0x90, OSX senseid: 0x1 Connector at index 2 Type [@offset 45866]: LVDS (7) Encoder [@offset 45870]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY2 (0x21) i2cid [@offset 45976]: 0x94, OSX senseid: 0x5 Connector at index 3 Type [@offset 45876]: DisplayPort (10) Encoder [@offset 45880]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY (0x1e) i2cid [@offset 45999]: 0x91, OSX senseid: 0x2 it would be great to have lvds to turn this laptop a great hackintosh
  7. need help with ATI Mobility 4670 on XPS 1645

any luck wit your card? i have the same cardo on a xps 1647 running 10.6.8 last chameleon from azimut branch graphics enabler. injecting peregrine returns Radeonframebuffer used in ioreg. lvds works but corrupted. vga works, displayport works i need lvds. tried with Flicker and Shrike, but no lvds, no vga no DP. i can get nothig from radeondump exept e rom file. i cant make radeonhd.kext work either, so no verbose log. any suggestion doy you have the lvds hec patched? vga? im triyng to have at least two ports working (lvds + one) thanks
  8. anyone to have a look to my ioreg in my previous post?
  9. @kizwan here im attaching my ioregistryexplorer file there are two appledisplay the firstone is the laptop display : DisplayProductId 0x214 the other one is an axternal monitor via displayport to vga adaptor hope someone can decipher something out of this Luis_Sebastian_Cuello___s_iMac.ioreg.zip
  10. @neatmonster osx says so because it detected that the ownership and permissions of radeonHD.kext are wrong. installit with kexthelper . no QE with radeonHD @kizwan that is not true. my display panel shows up in ioreg. it is attached in my first post. ioreg shows 2 dispalys one is external via displayport and the other is internal-lvds thats why i think it could be fixed
  11. well, i dont have the knowledge either to program a driver. i don exctly know how the driver works, but i think that i have two displays connected to my lap. one works, the other doesnt. maybe someone more experienced than me can look at the ioreg dump and detect a flag or a wrong value in the display section that leads to the problem and thats what i hope.
  12. i've tried radeonhd without vanilla kext and without graphicsenabler. in radeonHD was loaded. got radeondump log and i was able to get to gui via vnc from my mac mini, but in the laptop all i got was black screen. same as with vanilla kext. so, what i think is that the problem is tha same. im trying to say that if the problem with radeonHD can be solved, maybe it will be the same problem with vanilla kexts
  13. @kizwan i know i dont need radeonHD. i already have qe/ci working with graphicsenaqbler. i never could use radeonHDS because the only thing i got was a black screen as with vanilla kext. so i thougth that the problem can be solved to radeonHD maby it can work with vanilla kext too, o viceversa.
  14. hi, i still trying to get my lap working. i've received myy displayport to vga adapter, so i tried with ati kexts from 10.6.2 an graphicsenabler=yes and i get same black screen as with radeonHD from dong, but in the external monitor i get fullres QE/CE enabled in system info i get listed the panel cld with fullres and QE/CE enabled too. i think that im having the same problem as radeonHD. so im trinog to get help to debug and find the problem here goes attached my ioreg. hope this helps to find why the screen is black in both, radeonHD and vanilla kexts ioreg_ati_kexts.txt
  15. i've installed snowleopard 10.6.2 in my dell and the main lack is the display resolution. im using chameleon 2 rc5 autoresolution by lebidou the display native res is 1600x900. but i cant get more than 1152x864 with graphicsenabler=yes without efi injection (graphicsenabler=no) i get the radeonHD.kext build from last trunk loaded, but i get nothing but a black screen. i can log in to SL via screensharing from my mac mini and make a radeondump with verbose level 4. in system profiler, the card and the display shows and the resolution is the correct 1600x900, but the screen still black (i mean black image but with backlight on). i think this mean that the edid code is right. in another thread dong suggested that maybe the FrameBuffer was located in a wrong memory address, or something like that. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...0586&st=620 how can i debug or look for these values and try to find out whats wrong? i have xcode installed in i can build and make some tweaks as long as im being pointed to the right direction. @dong: please if you can help on this! radeonHD_verbose4_buffer_grande.txt
