    Asus 1201N Installation and support

problem solved.... thank you vince22. took me a while to figure out as before updating, i followed the guide... so i put it like this way... and its from the guide anyway... ********************** <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>pmVersion=20</string> <string>arch=i386</string> ********************** which caused the error... and using arch=i386 from the boot screen fixed it...then edited .plist again and edited it to something like this... <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386 pmVersion=20</string> i think the guide should deliberately put the strings above rather than whats in the guide already to minimize the problem after applying the 10.6.4 update.... just my 2 cents. and thank u to all who tried to help out. happy updating...

    Asus 1201N Installation and support

Help please. I had a fully working 10.6.3 dual boot until I updated to 10.6.4. Followed the guide being in the 10.6.3 already, edited plist, ran combo updated, no kp yet, restarted then ... Bang! SL is now not booting. I can see chameleon working as I can select which partition to boot from but after selecting Leo drive, it's stuck not even showing the logo nor the spinning wheel. All I can see is blank screen with txt at the top ..."Hibernate image is to old by 2608225 seconds. Use Forcewake=y to override", win 7 is working from the boot option. Please help. And what is "boot via a backup" meant from the guide to delete the voodoo.ktext? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  8. i just did a dual boot and had the same problem... please. cant seem to open the link above. thx

    Asus 1201N Installation and support

please help. my 1201 dual booting has been working really good until i did a reinstallation of windows 7. was using win7 ultimate x64, but having legit copy of win7 ent x64 from work, i thought i would do a complete reinstallation of it... so i booted up from win7 usb installer, fired up diskpart just before installing windows, made partition 3 active (previously win7 partition). then proceeded to installation formatting the partition. installation went well and loaded up win7 drivers. booted up with win7 usb installer again, opened diskpart and made partition 1 active (efi partition i think...-by the way this is from the dual booting guide), then restarted. now im getting "missing operating system" error. basically it wont boot. but putting back win7 (partition 3) to active, windows 7 boots fine. and when i tried booting from leo usb installer and pressing space bar to select boot option [partition 1 (efi partition] active, selecting leo partition wont boot either, but selecting win7 boots fine. please help me how to fix this. i dont want to reinstall leo having a lot of programs installed already. basically i just want to have working dual boot again without redoing all again. thank you.

mine is quite low.... check result here... http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/view/255376 also, my system is showing only 2cores while urs is 4cores? not sure if the leo build does matter to make the system more speedy. also im using the latest bios (0326) with 4g ram and 4g dsdt from the guide files. what dsdt are u using? is my system showing 2cores only normal? please advise.... thanks

Thank u for this moss... will try this today...will let u know. nothing really special, i judt installed SL using the new files from the guide, replaced dsdt with the one included, restarted and replaced 4g ram. then boot back to SL. sleep works, closing the lid also puts SL to sleep and both wakes up fine. i didnt mess up sleep setting from the power settings if that helps. some fn keys works but not volume keys. sometimes touchpad scrol doesnt work but a reboot fixes it. other than that....system seems perfect. for win7, i used usb installer of ultimate, i dont like the extra garbage when restoring from the original dvd. for people using 64bit of windows, an easy fix for the coprocesso driver is to download the chipset driver for ion desktop at nvidia page. thanks...

    Asus 1201N Installation and support

i have a very strange situation with my 1201n. i have an almost perfect dual boot win7/SL with 4g dsdt and functional sleep/wake up function and working wireless (dell 1505)/wired lan. only thing that is bugging me is the clock / time function. i set the bios clock to the right time (UTC +8 = manila/singapore time). when im on win 7, i set the clock + time zone to reflect manila time. and when i go back to SL, i do the same thing. but for some odd reason, when i go back to win7, the clock now changes with a big difference (like 7-10hrs) though the time zone is still the same. so when i try to correct the time, and then boot back to SL, the time now is also different. so its like i set the time everytime i boot to both OS. not sure if this is an installation problem but ive reinstalled/repartitioned my setup twice already thinking it was installation problem having it experienced twice now. please help is this is a known issue...or im just the one experiencing it... thanks.
